  • It's really making me mad how people keep saying crap about Clovis. I was born there! I don't live there anymore, but you don't know how much I wanna go back!! So STOP SAYING IT'S A DUMP!

  • i am going in Christmas!! excited

  • its price gouging. those clovis locals know the military is going to be with them for a while so they try to rip them off. i hope for 131.00 per square foot, someone is getting waterfront property. perhaps green acres park? oh, are rooney and moon still playing the latest music hits? man, what a great place to waste away your best years. thanks clovis.

  • whaaa whaaa..... quit crying already.... GO HOME!!!

  • Clovis is one of the ugliest towns in America. The people, some decent ones, but for the most part they are dysfunctional and ill...but who would not be from having to live in this shithole their whole life? Clovis is really a humanitarian crisis. The entire town should be evacuated and bulldozed down.

  • Anyone know of a place that has horse rentals for trail riding? Guided rides?

  • Some places shown are closed in this video, the movie theatre does not show every movie especially ones offensive to religious folks or too violent. The end of the video should have state everytime go to Lubbock or Amarillo if you want stuff. Honestly it just showed prince street and rich people homes. To the military who have to live here be nice to the folks and pray for orders is all you can do. No complaining the wing commander get complaints everytime you speak the truth out loud.

  • Nice to see some good shots of Clovis, i was stationed here in 1994-1997 @ Cannon AFB, and I actually enjoyed my time here. I was in a good church(Clovis church of God) enjoyed the good steak-houses(Poor boys, S&S, can't remember the one out on the main highway out of town near Kings Truck stop?? anyway, I have good memories here, and of the surrounding areas... I live in the Pacific Northwest now, and people up here bitch about the rain, its like nobody is happy anywhere they live- nice video!!

  • the secomd pic is my school!!!!

  • ok really? I live here and taking a video of the biggest homes for the rich people and only going on prince street to film is not a fair or accurate dipiction of clovis nm. I'm from the burbs of atl then florida and I can't honestly say I've traveled which most of the ppl from clovis have not and this town is pathetic. The people are pathetic the buildings are pathetic if you get orders out here you should deny them I wish we would have! This town needs to burn!!!!!

  • The best town in the world.... if you're on meth.

  • I live in Ruidoso and we don't have half those things and we are very happy. Why is everyone whining?

  • @myruidoso . you have mountains, fresh air, tangible wholesome things to do. just because a place is rural does not mean it sucks like Clovis. A Applebee's and Chilis in effect does nothing to make it better.

  • haha man this place is so effin borin am sorry i aint gonna lie is real pretty for old ppl bt us youngstas cant even go to da mall to hang out cuz damn wanna b cops security tells som one u need to walk???wtf? this is ghetto!!!! wish i can go bac to colorado man fuck this

  • @chiwaz12 I think it is more that the older you you learn to be happy regardless of where you are. Not being happy is a waste of time. The secrets to happiness reveal themselves when they are sought. But I did move out of a small west texas town myself because I wanted a beautiful place to live. I moved to Ruidoso and there is little here but Im happy as can be. Have to BE happy though its a choice. God Luck to you.

  • clovis is to scared to let my friend put a hookah lounge what dumb bitches

  • @6daisyy The solution is not to get wasted believe me. I'm not anti-MJ just sayin......

  • I was out there on a mini vaction last May...I retired out of Cannon in 89..I couldn't believe how much it has changed in the time I left. I for one love it there

  • so instead lets all sit infront of our computers and bitch about it thats really going to solve all the problems, go make something of it instead of complaining, get off your ass and your computer and make some friends! its not that bad!!!

  • I don't see the big deal. I've lived in Clovis all my life and everytime I go out of town like to Lubbock, Albuquerque or Santa Fe the people there always get pissed off for no reason. Look, I'm sorry that you don't like it, but c'mon dissing my home isn't cool...I don't diss your hometowns. Plus, for some of you on here that I know, if you hate living here, then pack your bags and move away. Just don't complain about how "awful" and "horrible" Clovis is.

  • "Never a bad day for a shotgun to the head," if your living here. Yeah, Hollywood came to Clovis, and lasted how long? But what you really have to ask yourself is, after watching this video, would you really want to leave the town your in, and move to this dump? Where the hell is there a lake? How about you go swimming in that lake, with all the chemicals from cars that runoff into it from the drain. That's called a pond. Stop building up clovis as something it's not. Your not foolin anyone!!!

  • @thatoneguy5561 There is another video I saw on this site that shows only the crappy parts of the town. To this video I commented that one could easily show the other side and spin it. That is what this video is. So there are two sides to everything. If you don't like the place that is too bad but I have learned to believe in the old addage about every place being what you make it. I like what I saw here and contemplated what I saw in the other video. You are right to have your opinion, OP is2

  • @letslipthedogs Spin or not, It doesn't matter. For example, this is the first town that I've seen that doesn't have stop signs at all intersections. Bad part of town or not, it really shouldn't matter, that's a safety issue and the city should have corrected the problem YEARS ago. The city just refuses to make progress and make their town better. Who would wan't to move to a city that hasn't caught up with the rest of the world???

  • so this video "showing off just how nice clovis is" is of stores that every city has?

taco bell, dillards, dollar general, and a few hotels dont make a town ...what does hurt a town is people that take the time to say "look how awesome this town is" ....only to showcase ....a taco bell, dillards, applebees, and a dollar general.

    these are nation wide venues...

what does this town offer out side of this?

a zoo, a pond, and cow shit smell?....great job of showing off what every town has

  • How pathetic. A video of all these 'great new things' in Clovis. The same stores that have been in most other reasonably sized towns for several years. This place is the armpit of New Mexico and will always be at least 50 years behind the times. What a dump!

  • hollywood video is now bankrupt its not ther anymore

  • I consider myself very lucky to not be stationed at Cannon AFB, I feel sorry for all the first term airmen there

  • Nice, but...

Hollywood Video is closed. Pizza Palace is closed. And what does that say about a town when you use a picture of "Taco Bell" for the segment on "good food?"

Roden Smith. Wow. Nice. Closed on Sundays and sells tacky furniture and Christian merchandise. Coffee's all right.

Misleading that you only show the palatial homes of the few rich folk and dairy farmers. These houses are NOT representative of what the vast majority of everyday folks live in. Not buy a stretch.

  • This place really sucks! It always stinks and the people are dirty and rude.

  • @LaCrem86 really there are so many nice ppl here wen they are treated nicely theyr rude to u cus ur rude to them u ass

  • @ghost3516 Whenever these gelatinous tapeworms bump into you or walk in front of you they never say excuse me or anything like that. Not to mention all these fat clova nights think their shit doesnt stink. Also whenevr you go somewhere there is always some wanna be thug trying to stare you down.

  • Instead of shutting down Walker AFB in Roswell 40 years ago they should've shut down Cannon.

  • Its sad when you have to make a video of "new" things in this dump..

  • Im from Portales, I hate Artsy people and the outdoors

  • haha! funny........ -.-

  • Clovis may have changed but it still sucks here, and btw SEI is a buisness not part of the collage just so you know

  • I'm glad to know the shifty have such nice houses. Milk that US Gubment for all it's worth Shiftsters! Leal's is the saving grace of Clovis, it is really good.

  • every lil' community has the rich neighborhoods

  • hey hey hey!! Clovis is the bomb!! At least we have alot of new stores! People who say "clovis is boring" they are the ones who make it boring people need to come out of their houses, at least walk the streets and make it fun!!

  • @zonabra22 Clovis is cool! Cant wait till the new Mc Donalds are built!

  • shut up ese jajaja

  • The people in Clovis, NM are like zombies. All they care about is going to church and nothing else.

  • Wow...how about cleaning those "new" areas...dumbass...besides chain companies are not a measure of quality.

  • Ha! Ha!

  • thank you soooo much for showing the good things about clovis. i lived there for 4 years and i miss it sooo much. i really do apreciate it.

  • I was stationed at Cannon from 01-05. most of this stuff was already there when I got there. not exactly new. The few new business look like where something good used to be and worse moved in!

  • you just saw 2% of clovis, you dont wanna see anymore

  • Did a 90 year old make this?

Clovis is bad for your health!

  • My house in in this video. :) sweet

  • clovis sucks, ive been here for 2years and there is nothing to do and it stinks most of the time.

  • A bit sad that the "new things in Clovis," are things that are normal in other small towns. Another thing, why do our parks suck? They're just not enjoyable to relax at. Would it really be that hard to make some man made hills at our already man made park. We have more than enough dirt, I think everyone who lives here knows that.

  • I grew up in Clovis for a little while when i was a kid, All through Elementary school at James Bickley and then middle school at Marshal Jr. high! Maybe its just cause i was a kid but it seemed like an amazing place! Most everyone was nice and they had just built a mall and had a movie theater. My best friend lived on Cannon air force base cause his dad was a weather man there and honestly, other than the cow poo smell, i have nothing but good memories! :)

  • I haven't lived there in about 5 years, and I didn't know half of that! I love Clovis!

  • I understand, there are problems with getting things done to improve our town that I dont understand either. Im not from here - just have chosen to live here. Im working with some people who have come in and would like to see positive growth in our town thats good for everyone - not just the select few - and have run into disturbing roadblocks. Trying to help them get to the bottom of things - and I think as our town outgrows the shell of " the way things are done in Clovis" good things happen

  • Clovis has it's challenges - Not many 45,000 people towns have a whole lot to do when the next largest city is 90 mile away. We have a limited number of rentals, getting to be a limited number of availables homes, but the people are great. Ill have to make a new video - this "new things" one is getting kind of old.

  • Perhaps you could address why people on the southern side of BNSF tracks are ignored and expected to smile about having to spend twice the amount in gas to go anywhere in town since Clovis has allowed the railroad to close 2 crossings in the las couple of years. The one on wheaten and the Hull Street Overpass. Maybe you should video the nasty trash that is ignored all over town that constantly blows in the wind or perhaps you could video people throwing garbage out their car windows...no class

  • Hopefully the Hull St overpass is rebuilt soon. The nasty trash is a problem but it starts with each of us being responsible with our garbage and then with community service projects aimed at cleanup. Id rather film what we do have than everything everyone does wrong. Boycott Clovis did a great job of that. View both to get a good overall view - as well as a few laughs.

  • It appears to me that perhaps you are a local realtor, so I can see why you would rather spit shine the dirt in our area. I have lived here for MANY years my Grandparents lived here etc. The politics are the problem, our leaders appear to only serve their own interests and leave the rest of us to struggle. For example, why are we building towards GRADY and not Melrose or Portales...my guess is that the powers that be own the properties that have made a mess on Prince. What do you think?

  • Remember when someone wanted to put in a Waterpark and was told there wasn't enough water???? Then we put in a bunch more nasty water hogging dairies and a cheese plant...both polute the water and bring few REAL jobs to the area. Hmmmm....what's up with that? Most of the AVERAGE people in Clovis ARE great, unfortunately it is the few with power that make this a miserable place to be.

  • Actually, worm piss at least helps things grow...can't say the same about Clovis.

  • Funny, this defense of Clovis still shows that there is absolutely nothing to do unless you would like to eat out! True, there are mansions and expensive areas in town; however, most of the town...I would guess 80% lives in areas that are far less attractive. As far as restaurants go...how many tacos and burgers can you eat? If all you have is money to blow, they will take it, other than that your on your own!

  • Weinershnitzel! I can remember when it was called the Der Weinershnitzel and you drove through the center of it to get your food. They closed it off because everyone drove through it while dragging Main Street. It was the north end of Main Street turn around point. And the 2 kids that got killed there on their motorcycle. Is the Taco Box still around? That's where all the "heads" worked. "Classy Uniforms". If you have to ask, don't bother. Best burrito's in town. Especially after night parting.

  • Haha They still drag main and half the people you talk to still put the Der in there. Taco Box is still right across from green acres lake and they still make the best Chicken Fajita Quesadillas around and have the best vanilla cokes.

  • thats awesome.....show multi-million dollar houses when i can't even find a place to rent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the housing market went crazy with the prices trying to match everywhere else when the town is a shithole when we were there our rental van was broken into while we were eating I understand you are trying to bring out the positive side....but YOU CAN'T POLISH A TURD!!!!........by the way WAL-MART!!!!!!????!!!!

  • Sorry to hear about your rental van. Unfortunately our rental market is because of a lack of rentals, not price gouging, ... and by the way, have you thought about Clovis without a Wal-Mart? Not that Im a big fan of Wal-Mart - just trying to show whats here.

  • Why do people effortlessly try and defend this place? It's HORRIBLE! Yes the people are nice, but they take advantage of you. $131.00 a square foot for a home, and employers don't see paying ANYONE anything more than minimum wage? Why is gas .12 dents cheaper 8 miles down the road in Farwell? HATE CLOVIS!

  • Thank you for your insightful comments. $131.00 a sq ft would be for a custom home with amenities like granite etc. New John Bourne Homes in Raintree are 128/sq ft and normal new spec built homes are closer to 109/sq ft. Building materials cost more to get to Clovis since it is off of the beaten path. THere are fewer subcontractors so they do charge more since they are so busy. Gas is cheaper in Farwell because it is in a different state which charges different taxes on fuel than NM does.

  • I retired out of Cannon in 89...and I must say I don't recoginze Clovis!!!! I use to work at KICA FM did the Metal Shop on Saturday Nights, I miss Clovis alot, great food and good people..may have to make a road trip there again!!!

    Thanks for sharing :)

    Jim in Ohio

  • I love leals! lol i miss clovis so much its a place you actually miss when you leave...You may hate it when you get there but it grows on you haha

  • I agree with you. i dont exactly like clovis but i dont want to leave my friends behind. cant live with em, cant turn your back on em. lol

  • You are right, Clovis is not Garland. Actually my husband's cousin is a state trooper in Garland. Nice place. Garland, TX Population in July 2007: 218,792 Clovis, NM Population in July 2007: 33,182

  • I'm sorry but it's not pretty

I would so not be able to live there

I'm from Garland, Texas [It's a city in Dallas]

And all those stuff are old..and Garland is old too but up to date so yeah

    umm...goodluck

  • wow.. i wish I could own a 500M house in the middle of this crappy place.

  • Wow, even a lake! We call that a pond here in the East.

  • Have you ever seen the Pecos? They call that a river too. I'm from the East, VA, MD, LA, but you learn to really appreciate water out here!

  • The hotels are only there to support the military. No one actually goes on vacation to Clovis NM.

  • Actually many military stay on base in the Caprock Inn. The hotels are here for people who come visit relatives, come to the numerous events, rodeos, horse sales, etc. that come to our town. People may not vacation in Clovis but it is the largest city in Eastern New Mexico. This is where people come to shop if they dont want to go all the way to Lubbock or Amarillo or Albuquerque.

  • actually Roswell is the largest

  • True, Roswell is bigger than Clovis. But it is 90 miles away. I was just saying as far as shopping it is a center for people to come to when they dont want to travel a hundred miles east or West.

  • i cannot thank u enough for making a video that shows clovis for what it is! i will be honest, when i moved here i wasn't thrilled. but after i got to know the people, i loved it! all these people on other videos need to be quiet and show good parts too

  • That is a problem when the lake catches the rainwater for the Northern half of the city. Would I eat a fish from there? No. Do alot of people seem to have fun fishing there? yes.

You know you might find a frog with three leggs too. Clovis is filled with wonderous creatures. Some of them cruise Main on Friday and Saturday nights.

  • our lake is one of those lakes you would catch the fish with 3 eyes in

  • do they cruz on main st on fridays @ sat??

  • alot of those places you showed Ive seen in smaller towns, face it Clovis is just behind the times.

  • I don't care how many times you show the same places. it all looks like the same shithole it was back in 95 when I was there. The only thing that has changed is walmart moved and the rich got richer. The poor got poorer. Is the shifty fifty still in charge is this shithole town?

  • get a life.

  • shitty fifty!
