  • That would have brought a ring to Pistol and Erving's finger... Alley Hoop would been born back then .... I can hear Pete now... "Pete *notices Julius's jumping ability* during a early practice 'How high can you get up there?' Pete asks in all seriousness.. 'High Enough Petey' Julius speaks with a chuckle 'Let me throw one up to ya see if you can catch it and dunk it in there..' ...what shoulda been

  • bullshit idea that team better, why not let the guy shoot 40 times a night, why not?

  • julius erving only played forthe sixers and the nets in the aba pete maravich didnt play aba and he only played for the hawks and jazz and celtics they may have played together on and allstar team

  • @aaroncorthell They actually did play together on the Hawks, one or two exhibition games.

  • The big problem is that Milwaukee drafted Erving in the '72 draft. Erving was signed by the Squires after his sophomore year from UMass. The NBA didn't have a hardship draft at the time. Erving's senior class graduated in '72 and the Bucks decided to get his rights in case the ABA folded. If Guerin and the Hawks had announced that they had signed Erving BEFORE THE DRAFT, I'm sure the NBA would have allowed them to keep Dr. J.

  • my fav player-pistol and my dads dr j

  • @1lastshot1lastmiss well understand your dads decision DR J is "The Best Dunker of ALL TIME" no doubt 'in my mind'.. But I feel you on 'Pistol' Pete Maravich; My favorite aswell.. He believed if you came to see basketball and he was playing he'd make sure you did *not* forget it what you saw... And that's what Entertainment is..

  • Had that happened Lou Hudson would have jumped off the roof.

  • @ramgarr IthinkSweet Lou would have loved playing with those two in an uptempo game. Hudson would have had open shots galore plus it would have played to Pistol's biggest strength, his passing.

  • George Gervin also played some game swith Julius in think, with the Squires.

  • Al Bianchi(coach of the Squires) says his one big problem was that he played both Erving and Gervin at forward. Ice was a rookie, and Julius was only in his second year and he was a young coach who didn't get the most out of them

  • I have a video uploaded on my channel of the Squires wioth the both playing together, take a look to that, it's awesome.

  • It did happen for about 3 games in the pre season

  • would have been a unstoppable team who knows what would have been

  • Too bad it never happened, Pistol and Dr. J would have fun to watch.

  • They was playing One on One
