  • I was standing there next to you! What a concert.

  • My friend recently died of a heart attack. This song reminds me so much of him... Thank you for posting this.

  • I am friends with Terry's sister

  • i'm pretty sure this is the only time that bruce performed this on the magic tour

  • he performed it in Dublin

  • I saw Bruce twice in New York and was hoping to hear the song live....I dedicated it to a best friend who was a Bruce fan with me.

  • What a beautiful song!It could make me cry...

  • i was there

  • Great

  • The funny thing is that if Uncle Terry had been at this concert he would have spotted this camera and confiscated it...he had an eye like a hawk!! I watched him do it to people all of the time. BUt hey, I am glad you got to tape it so I could see Bruce perform it again!!!

  • I was your Uncle Terry's friend from Chicago, Joe. I'm standing with him backstage during a show and he's says "I'll be right back." Terry went through the crowd like a great white shark and disappears. A couple minutes later he returns with a handful of recorders, tosses them on the concrete floor, and stomps them into little pieces. He would have a field day with all the new video iphones. Terry's Song is a beautiful tribute to a one of kind guy.

  • love the bass in this recording....

  • total tear-jerker, the best song on Magic.

    just beautiful.

  • i am learning this song at the momment and u cnt no how meaning ful it is to u learn it! to any one out there who plays guitar this is the song to learn ps im 13 so dnt go being nasty to me lol!

  • miss you ward

  • I brought my 8 year old son to this show. This happens to be one of his favorite songs on Magic. I can't tell you the rush we felt when we realized he was going to play this. An amazing moment shared between father and son.

  • #9 forever.

    i miss you ward.

i know you taught me to smile every minute of everyday.

    love you!

  • I was there!

    but not in the front

in the back but still a good view

my mom said that I would get the death penalty because the ticket said no cameras and she is stupid and believed it.

  • I love this song and hope he'll play it this summer aswell, it's beautiful when he does ballads, and he should dare to do more of them, every night.

Maybe 3-4 out of 24 or so...

    Thanks for posting.

  • i was there. It was so beautiful when he performed this. Absolutely beautiful....

  • Let's hope Bruce opens his next concert with this song.

  • Thank you! This song helps me everyday. I lost my brother in November and I used a quote from this song in my eulogy to him. It is nice to know that it comforts so many people. RIP Johnny I love you.

May Danny's family feel the comfort we are trying to send them in our thoughts.

  • Thanks for a cool video share.

Cool comments about bond, friendship, and brotherhood.

If y'all are so inclined, say one for Danny's family....and maybe one for all of us on "the highway".

I'm guessing that Danny's a part of that number with his accordian slung around his next walking in in the next parade.

    Dio la benedice mio fratello

  • This means so much more now.... I will miss you, Danny.

  • R.I.P. ward we miss you man

  • Here's the rest of the story:

    One song touches the heart

    By KEN HOFFMAN

    Copyright 2008 Houston Chronicle

There was a raw emotional moment during Bruce Springsteen's concert Monday night at Toyota Center that fans might not have understood.

(please go to the link for the rest of the very moving story)

  • OK, for some reason, it is not letting me post the link. So, try Googling: ["ward cox" & springsteen & hoffman]

  • Happy Birthday Terry, sorry you couldn't be here on this earth to celebrate. You had a great friend in Bruce.

  • That was an amazing concert, best I've ever been to in my life.

  • I also think its the best song on the album, wish ya had the whole song.... fucking brilliant

  • I was at that concert on the 14th. It was a wonderful time for me,I got to heal many wounds. From the minute the Band took the stage I could feel something different.Patti was not there, Bruce laughed and said one of the parents had to stay home, cause when his parents left him home as a teen, first thing in the oven were hash brownies. I could relate. Bruce did not seem himself. I hoped he was not ill. Now I know, his heart was breaking all over again. He never let on. Thanks, Bruce. RIP Terry.

  • this may sound a little weird, but i find this the best track on "magic" and i almost knew for sure it would never be played live. i like the fact that i was wrong

  • Speechless! :-O

Thanks for uploading this absolutely moving song! Goose bumps all over my body.

Shame it's not the whole song.

  • fuck you! springsteen is a living legend

greetings to your mum, the last night with her was amazing, bastart!

  • What?

Is that Spanish for I'm a damn fool?

I'm sorry I can't even put anything in words to hurt you with that ridiculous statement. You are a moron.

  • Happy Birthday Terry. Rest in Peace!

    Thansk for upload BRUCE!

  • thanks so much for this...can't believe he sang it live! Did he give a reason?

  • Hi there, thanks for the comment.

He said that last night, 4/14, would've been Terry's 68th birthday. It was heart-wrenching performance.

  • According to article in the Houston Chronicle: Springsteen said, "This song is for the Cox boys, Christopher Cox, Curtis Cox and Timmy, but I'm dedicating it to Ward Cox, number 9." Ward Cox, 16, died last October in a swimming accident in Galveston & he wore No. 9 on his football jersey.

  • beautiful
