  • Thank u Dr. you are a true hero in my eyes for helping humanity!! I have a Question, my mother was diagnosed with rectal cancer last month and they said it is either stage 2 or 3.. what are the normal life expectancys if u don't mind telling me after her surgery in the next 2 months.. Thank u very much in advance!

  • @GengisTV Real stage will be determined only after operation and histological study of cancer and lymph nodes. As a rule, all patients with II-III stages undergo preoperative irradiation or neoadjuvant (adjuvant) chemoradiotherapy. The surgery usually depends on the localization of rectal cancer: rectum anterior resection or abdominoperineal rectum extirpation with lymph node dissection. If procedure is complete (R0) overall 5-year survival for these patients ranged from 70-80% to 100%.

  • @Kshivets002 Thanks for your reply! she just did a ultrasound this morning and they said now that it's in stage 1..i hope they're right. She's starting radiation i believe next week as well as chemo in pill form for 5 weeks than they said in about 6-8 weeks after they will perform surgery.

You are much appreciated by me Dr. !!

  • That's a really trusted technique.
