  • Ringo was stoned

  • Ah George...such a bad ass. ; ) I read a great quote from someone. "If it wasn't for George, the Beatles would be the Monkees." It's so true, George gave them attitude.

  • When Ringo joined the band everything was PERFECT from that day, now they were playing with one of the most creative drummers of all time :D

  • 5:52 paul sounds like he has a cold

  • 1:48 it was the best !

  • from what i hear, the guy who head butted geoge, was a wayne rooney look a like.

  • "@garotadagavea even John Lennon himself said that Ringo wasn't a technically good drummer."

    Hello, @garotadagavea!

As a songwriter, John Lennon is better than Phil Collins and I think, that PC admits that.

As a drummer, Phil Collins was and is better than John Lennon and I think, that JL would admit this.

So, have you heard about a term called common sense?! If one uses cs, on admits, that the Phil Collins comments about drumming are more competent than the ones of Lennon!

    All the best

  • And here comes part II:

"I think Paul and Ringo stand up anywhere with any of the rock musicians. Not technically great. None of us were technical musicians. None of us could read music. None of us can write it. But as pure musicians, as inspired humans to make noise, they're as good as anybody!"

John Lennon, 1980 All We Are Saying, David Sheff

  • Hello cupcakefairy!

Sorry, I remembered the exact words of the comment wrong. But here comes the part I:

"Ringo's a damn good drummer. He was always a good drummer. He's not technically good, but I think Ringo's drumming is underrated the same way as Paul's bass playing is underrated...

  • they all look soo young!

  • What documentary was this part of?

  • Hello @garotadagavea!

    If you mean his "He wasn't even the best drummer in the Beatles", it was in the following concept;

He was making comments about the White Album and mocking Paul about his arrogance. :)

Besides, the drummer on Plastic Ono Band lp is... Ringo! :)

    All the best

    Jrahde

  • i remember talking to some crazy old scouse who said he saw the beatles play in the cavern in '62. him and his mate walked in the room and the first thing his mate said was "Why are all three of those guys singing the same words".

  • Comments here are sooo silly. Like come on, if you had a rock band, wouldn't you WANT in the band who you want. It's clear they ALL wanted Ringo, it's just for those years Ringo was with Rory and the Huricanes...And the jealousy comment - Please, like John, Paul and George weren't hot. Any rock band would be lucky to have ONE hot guy, not all of them.

  • 3:14

damn hipsters liked the beatles before you did.

  • Awww George looks so bored during Love Me Do.

  • it took the beatles 2 years to figure out he couldn't drum?

  • they must have been LOUD to be drowning out the drums like that.

  • Paul and George were scumbags for pushing Pete out of the group. They sit there with their sanctimonious pontifications about why Pete was such a terrible beatle, yet how would they feel if they were in his shoes? And who the hell is Ringo but some dupe and moron who happened to be available to assauge Paul and George's jealous egos? Screw e1 who disagrees, and screw the Beatles as well, Pete paid his dues and would have made a much better beatle than "duh" "duh" Ringo.

  • @chuppy125 They kicked him out becuase he couldn't drum.

  • @chuppy125 Phil Collins, drummer for Genesis -- "I think he's vastly underrated. The drum fills on A Day In The Life are very complex things. You could take a great drummer today and say, 'I want it like that.' They wouldn't know what to do." (interview for The Making of Sgt. Pepper, 1992)

I think I'll take Phil Collins opinion about drummers over yours. He seems to have more training and experience in the matter.

  • @garotadagavea even John Lennon himself said that Ringo wasn't a technically good drummer.

  • @chuppy125 John wasn't either.

  • 7:02 Awww poor George he looks like a little beat up puppy that was abandoned :( so adorable :3 I luv him EEK! X] :3

  • Pete Best never, Ringo forever!!

  • @miaa981 heck yeah

  • did the beatles write some other guy?

  • @nightcrawler511 "Some Other Guy" is a rhythm and blues song, written by Jerry Leiber, Mike Stoller and Richard Barrett. It was first released by Barrett as a single in 1962 ...

  • look a paul when he was young and paul now age hit him like a ton of bricks

  • @MrKite1996 It does to everyone, but yeah, Paul looked young for years, then age caught up fast. Lennon was the one who looked really aged/emaciated by the Double Fantasy time, but Paul still looked good at that time. If Lennon had lived to 70, he probably would have looked 100!

  • aw, George defended Ringo :) .... and that's why Geo is my favorite Beatle <3

  • Powerful lead vocal by Lennon

  • i am that half that LOVES him

and i loved seeing john right at the end

  • XD (and yeah, I mean actual, gigglesnorting laughter that lasts for ten seconds or more) at Paul's "Love me do," and face at 6:49.

  • sexy moptop

  • @QueenieG7 which one of them? ;)

  • "Love Me Do" is a great song! It has that distinctive Beatles sound and creativity to it. I was a teenager at the time, and nothing in rock 'n' roll music sounded anything like that tune. it was very original from the lyrics to the tune to the harmonica playing. The first really GOOD Beatles song.

  • it seemed that Ringo was a rich guy back then in 1950's

  • are 2:19 real? :o i thought there were no footage from the cavern

  • @lillewilli Yes, real.

  • RINGO 4 EVER

  • John, Paul, George And Ringo Forever and Ever and Ever Ever and Ever Ever and Ever Ever and Ever Ever and Ever Ever and Ever !

  • @Johnmcartney10 and evermore

  • 7:02 OWCH

  • @Anon371 HOLY SHIT. 1. IDK WHY PAUL WAS JEALOUS OF PETE, PAUL IS SOO MUCH BETTER LOOKING THAN PETE. AND SO ARE JOHN AND GEORGE. 2. RINGO STARR IS FUCKING HOT AND A BEAST DRUMMER.

  • Whether or not Pete Best was the better drummer really is irrelevant, isn't it? Ringo just fit in better with the band. His quickness, wit, style -- his character just fit better.

  • Paul was, I think the best at giving interviews.

Poor George was punched in his eye by some fool who could not accept the fact that Pete was given his walking papers. They had their reasons for wanting Ringo and it was best all around that Ringo joined. It was the chemistry among the boys that made it work. George said that without their drummer, it would be like driving a car with 3 wheels. I said it'd be like Chrysler without Dodge - a vital part is missing!

  • @BeatleBangs1964 Pete simply did not fit in.Pete didn't have the spark.Seems like a nice guy,but to make it BIG,you had to show energy, and look happy. Okay for local fans, but to attract the world? Ringo was IT.

  • "well it was a wednesday.......ughhhh"

  • Paul is so cute and adorable when he sings!

  • i personally thought ringo was hot ;-))

  • By his own admission, all Ringo wanted was to run a hair salon. In fact a "string of them". That's what he considered success. He was never a powerful drummer but he could keep time and that was all that was asked of him. The Beatles certainly didn't need another ego between John and Paul. He fit the bill perfectly. It worked. Let John Bonham and Keith Moon blow 'em away. He was also one of the luckiest blokes on the planet. Right place, right time. That's life.

  • @kilts4u2 Keith Moon and John Bonham were great at what they did and they were better at their particular styles then Ringo. But how many different styles of drumming have they done? Ringo is versatile and has recorded more varied styles than they did and, what a lot of people don't realize, Ringo did some of the drumming on Keith Moon's solo album, which was mellower than the Who stuff, Keith overdubbed his parts so both are on those songs. Keith would not have used Ringo if he wasn't good.

  • without George Martin and some slick publicity, the Beatles would've been just another band and likely faded into obscurity relatively quickly. He cleaned them up musically speaking and put them in gear. Without him, the music would never have gone as far as it did. The Beatles couldn't read music, had no formal training. He took them under wing and made them his project. They had some good ideas, Martin made it all happen musically...ex. Sgt Pepper.

  • it should have been ringo forever pete best never.

  • john paul george ringo the magic band ever

  • John: Pete was the better drummer, but Ringo the better Beetle..

  • @dylanizer1 if pete was better why did george martin prefer ringo over pete???

  • @svinet1994 ask George Martin ,.-)

  • Ringo has such a happy voice it always puts a smile on my face

  • Love Me Do (:

  • 5:36 Goerge looks happy!!! :D

  • very rock n roll with their vests :-D

  • @666thefireball YEEEAAHHH!!!! WOOOOOO!!!!

  • Idk how theres people who hate on George and Ringo saying that they hitched a ride to fame and glory by playing with John and Paul. Sure John and Paul were great song writers and musicians but both of them on their own didn't go very far. I doubt just them 2 woulda made it any different than their solo careers. Thing about The Beatles is that each member contributed to the sound we all love. Without George and Ringo there is no Beatles. Ringos backbeats and George's lead are the magic!

  • Ringo is destined to be a Beatle.

  • John Lennon's DEVASTATING

  • They forget Stu Suttcliffe, he was in the 1:28 pic

  • @fellinian I think this is a piece of a longer feature and stu left earlier

  • George got hit by a BUS?!

    :(

  • LOVE Ringo FOREVER!!!

  • Richard Starkey has GOT to be the luckiest so-and-so that ever drew breath:

    he joins the Beatles just before they hit it big...huge, even;

    he becomes very rich;

    he becomes world-famous;

he ends up married to a Bond Girl (Barbara Bach).

Not bad for a nightclub drummer from Liverpool.

  • lol at gorge i can imagine him saying OH BUGGER OFF!!!!

  • i love Ringo! (:

  • That was a great story. Ringo looks just like Stevie Riks at 7:41.

  • Ringo Starr the fun Beatle :DDDDDDDDD

  • LMAO at 4:55... "We have Andy White, the professional drummer" I love Ringo's different voices

  • Poor George :(

  • lol, george looks so young in the bit at 3:44. I love it. those boys rock to no end

  • George looked like a little kid compared to the rest of them in Love Me Do. He was adorable

  • @kmbass93 george was the youngest anyway just so you know but yeah he was totally adorable ^_^

  • @kmbass93 cuz he was the baby of the band

  • Ringo never Pete forever? more like Pete never Ringo forever!!

  • Jeez Paul's voice sounds so nasally when he's younger.

  • damn, George had one hell of a day...

  • John and Paul - so darn good looking!!! And voices to match!!!

  • lol 5:36 george is like 'Hey camraman! OH wait no I shouldn't be doing that (I hate myself)'

  • Poor George :(

    Ringo forever!!!

  • poor george :(

  • at the end of some other guy and guy said "we want pete'' and a woman said "ringo''

    i went with the woman

  • imagine if the beatles drummer was was him, 4:47

  • image if this guy was the drummer for the beatles 4:47

  • ringo is the oldest right

  • @lilgantz251 Yes, he is.

  • right

  • is it just me or does paul sound off on love me do

  • @pokemonperson2468 It's just you.

  • @666thefireball omg thank you

  • I rellay love the pic at 2:08!! George was such a cute guy

  • @666thefireball I agree! It wouldn't have worked any other way!!

  • George: That was a bad day, and then I walked under a bus.

Oh George, I just love how you said that! I literally ROTFL whenever I hear that line

    But poor George :(

  • LOVE Mr. Ringo Starr FOREVER!!! My Favorite Beatle FORVEVER!!! & THANK YOU Mr. Ringo Starr for your Autographed/Photo before your autographed Ban in 2008!!!

I WILL NEVER Sell It on Ebay & Cherish It FOREVER!!!

  • the pic at 2:10 is so sad :( But after that, the video footage of "Some other guy" LOL Paul really bounced at the beginning and then 3:25 Oh George....3:34 Paul=HOT!!!!

  • look at 3:20 is George....3:30 is Paul.

  • "He (Pete Best) was doing OK, but if you compare it to Ringo, he just did not have that swing. He just did not have that rock. He just didn't." -Klaus Voormann

  • PETE BEST PEOPLE the fact that he was no longer a beatle when they made it big does NOT translate to him not being important.

  • what is the song at 2:30?

  • @14meiss : Some other guy

  • @14meiss 'some other guy' was known locally as the Liverpool anthem because it seemed that every Liverpool band included a version of it in their live set. Quite a few also recorded it. Check out the Searchers, the Big Three, Johnny Kidd & the Pirates etc.

  • "Someone to love. . . Somebody new. Someone to love. . . Someone like Ringo Starr!"

  • i love bananassssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssz

  • @joejr913 in your mouth

  • " Ringo was a star in his own right in Liverpool before we even met. He was a professional drummer who sang and performed and had Ringo Star-time and he was in one of the top groups in Britain but especially in Liverpool before we even had a drummer. So Ringo's talent would have come out one way or the other as something or other."-John Lennon, Playboy 1980

  • The Beatles won't be possible without Ringo. Ringo gave the BEAT in The "BEAT"les.

  • @harlylmarcuap exactly, thats like the Jackson 5 without MICHAEL(and when you think of them, he's kinda the first person that comes to your mid, right?) This was DESTINY. You are so right!

  • Fascinating! Remarkable! Very interesting stories and video.

  • Who's Brian and George Martin?

  • Brian Epstein - manager

    Martin - producer.

  • @jagatinho Can't believe that person did not KNOW THAT!!!!!! IDIOT!!!!!

  • @HonorsBandRules What a shame.

  • ringo rocks

  • All those people who hated Ringo, or thought Pete was better, can SUCK IT! And that douchebag who headbutted poor George was just COMPLETELY uncalled for! I hoped bad things happened to that heartless crowd! I hope the guilt haunts(or haunted, some of them are dead) them for the rest of their lives! And I can't imagine the Beatles without Ringo, its IMPOSSIBLE. He always respected the band, was always original, and never acted like a hot-shot. And hey, he was a BAD-ASS drummer! Enough said!

  • @ATalkingCracker and the bus driver who hit george!!!!!!!!! you cant forget about the Double Decked Bus!!

  • @Cassay2996 you're right, damn that bus!!!

  • @ATalkingCracker Okay but just chill a little. I'm not sure wether hoping bad hings for other people is exactly the appropriate reaction just for something concerning a rock'n'roll band. I mean the crowd was a douchebag but don't overreact...

  • Awsome!

  • Ringo was a creative guy- that's how. He could use both hands equally well to write or drum, and created unique drumming for each song, and never interfered wiht john/paul writing and singing most of it. Ringo was hte one the other 3 always got along iwth and never argued wiht even during breakup of the band.

  • i met pete best two years ago in toronto at a beatles convention. he's a great guy. got his autograph had pictures taken with .

  • 7:51 ^_^ tehee

R.I.P. John Lennon and George Harrison you will b rememberd 4 ever.

  • Return to snder by Elvis Presley was in first place in the charts the show up at the end of the video; their idol.

  • i have pete bests autograph

  • Ringo: "I came down, ready to roll!

    4:48 - 4:53

  • Aaww!!! Poor George, he really got beeten up! :(

  • i know ;(

  • Ringo's much better :)

  • I agree^.^

  • Ringo was a better drummer, everyone agreed. Pete had been there through the worst of it, but he didn't knit the sound together. He didn't want the haircut either. He wasn't as dedicated to the "team" as they required. He asserts it was about sex appeal, but that's a blind. Ringo was of a similar mental outlook and humor as well.

I'm sure Pete's a nice guy, but nobody raced in to grab up his services and prove the others wrong. I wonder if they ever met again after Beatlemania kicked in?

  • The whole thing about Pete not wanting to change his hair is a myth. There isn't a reputable source that will say the hair had anything to do with it.

  • i guess so

  • if i still had my beatles wig from 1964 i could use it for church on sundays. it is difficult to describe the feeling of beatlemania to those who were not alive then. my daughter loves the beatles and laughs at my stories.

  • Ringo was always my favorite.

  • Me too!!!

Mr. Ringo Starr sent me his autographed/photo before his autograph ban!!!

I will ALWAYS cherish it & NEVER SELL IT ON Ebay!!!

  • YOU HAVE HIS AUTOGRAPH!!!!!!!! You don't know just how luky you are!!

  • LOVE Ringo FORVERE!!!

  • I LOVED IT!! It`s now on my favourites!!!

  • HAHAHAH nice. ringo got pretty lucky.

  • Never mind the mystery tour. This is magical in itself.

  • You know, I've gone looking everywhere for the incident where George got hit by a bus, and I can't find it! He mustn't have been too injured, thank God, but how can there be no mention of it save for his statement here? I don't get it.

  • @cabbitshivers

That was one of the ideas for the Magical Mystery Tour movie. It was supposed to be George getting hit by a bus after singing Blue Jay Way. But they never got it filmed.

  • That would have been so funny to see! (Not the actual time it happened, but in Magical Mystery Tour it would have rocked my socks.)

  • I bet Ringo is still mad about not getting to play LOL

  • has eny1 noticed that on the love me do video, paul looks smashed?

  • The Andy White version sounds weirder. I like Ringo's version much better.

  • When you think about it, Love Me Do almost sounds like a country song!

They had a lot of country influences, along with rock and roll and blues from America.

Really cool, when you think about it. :D

  • 1:45 that picture is acually supposed to have just Paul, George, John, Pete Best, and Stuart Sutcliffe. lol they just put Ringo in there

  • omg he got hit by a bus? how did he not get hurt?

  • there so cute like baby cute and there silly.

  • I'm surprised that George was the only one who spoke up, then he was considered the quite beatle, but thats why he's my favourite

  • whats that song in 2:21?

  • Some other guy.

  • @jagatinho what album??

  • @nightcrawler511 : "Some Other Guy"?

"Some Other Guy" is a rock 'n roll song, written by Jerry Leiber, Mike Stoller and Richard Barrett.[1] It was first released by Barrett as a single in 1962,[2] with a backing band featuring an electric piano, an unusual sound in pop music at the time.

The song was recorded by The Beatles during a live BBC radio session and included on the album, Live at the BBC.

  • Sounds like Goose Step Mama by The Rutles XD

  • It is so cute how George defended Ringo!

  • Comment removed

  • i just love the young beatles

  • Oh-let me set the record striaght-Ringo WAS THE OLDEST, by 3 months!! It annoyed the hell out of John because he wanted to be the oldest to feel more superior. Brothers lol

  • George has always been the head of reason. He's so sure and steady...judging with a calm hand, but as soon as someone offends him or the person he loves, "WHAM!" it just blasts out. lol Just because he was quiet doesn't mean he's going to take your sh*t. I miss George :(

lol "I thought I was giving them a hell of a lot of time"

That sounds like the worst day ever!! Poor georgy! :((

  • I can't believe he was hit by some bloke, let alone a bus. Who would want to hit george?

  • That was John. But, yes. I too wish a man on a plaming pie woul tell me what my band name should be.

  • poor georgie, who would wanna hit him??
