  • 5:51 i cant remember the song name someone help me please :)

  • Not using that River of Love solo is one of the greatest crimes against humanity... ever.

  • His writing was nothing close to when he was in Dokken! What happened? I can't even name one memorable solo in his new band...

  • What disappointed me about my former guitar heroes of the 80’s is almost all relied on expensive studio effects to get the sounds they did. You will never get Lynch’s studio reverb from any amp or pedal—likewise, it’s futile thinking you’ll find some digital set-up that records these highs/lows the same way an analog studio processor does. Lynch, Van Halen—even Vai to an extent—are record company whores who never write lyrics that much deviate from what their corporate owners wish to hear.

  • he has even more creative ideas after solos of two minutes. Some other players dream of such a talent...

  • damn... that guy could kill someone with his fucking pinkie.... wow!

  • virtuoso...... enough said

  • what's with that last performance at 7:15 ? bad tone and his playing isn't spot on :s

note: i'm definatly not saying he's bad. but it's very different from waht he played in the rest of the video

  • @psychopathtoine

he improvises on alot of his videos. He almost never plays Mr. Scary the same way. Plus it's hard material even for a legend.

  • George shows us how to play the blues at the end of this video. It just demonstrates that George has feeling in his playing at all tempos - fast and slow. A rare talent indeed.

  • Amazing Phrasing!!

  • Watching this just makes me think like " Damn, I suck!"

  • @GLAMJOKER Is this guy better than Steve Vai or Satch? YES uniquivocably

  • He isn't the best guitarist, but he's the best solo guitarist ever who can melody and song and feeling combine. Very Nice - and my favourite, too!!!

  • I actually HATE ESP guitars. Any PERSONAL guitar GL owns regardless of the decals is NOT a true ESP built guitar. Sure he'll have a few production models in his PUBLIC appearances, BUT in the studio THEIR CUSTOM USA MADE with far better quality than ANY ESP you and I could ever buy.

  • @HillaryHitler true because he made personally hes models

  • @HillaryHitler yeah, he just puts the ESP headstock on his custom made models for the endorsement,

  • this is god of rock right here

  • @dxvolt Man that's the Best and most TRUE thing I have Read all Day!!!!!! I hear ya Bro!

  • @dxvolt Well Ican Say to me He's the GOD of Guitar Style, Soul,Experience,& Much Much more. Iknow there are Guitarist out there that are speed Demons,Like MAB, & Yngwie Malmsteen,But youknow after about 2 minutes of listening to them,I'm BORED, I could lidten to George's Music or Hours,It's his Style How he sneaks those Minor notes in with the Flats,It's FLAWLESS!!

  • Sick bro!

  • @stevedancer Damn Right 110% SICK,,,,, LOVE IT TO THE BONE!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The ONLY thing ESP about this guitar is the WATER DECAL!

  • @HillaryHitler Hey Hitler,It was a Custom Made Guitar especially Made for Lynch,With Fenders Permission to use a Model Neck Like this, It was Given to him,This Guitar is FLAWLESS,and it's No Decal! It's a Custom Built ESP for the GOD of Rock!

  • @HillaryHitler I left you a comment once never heard back from ya,about the( quote) Decal, ,I Know for a Fact it was Cutom Built for George as a Present from ESP,I read it in one of Guitar Mags. Back then in theEarly 90's!

  • To all the wannabe's that think they can play............watch the master and just weep! Lynch rules the world with an iron pick!

  • @tommyfied

So agreed. I've heard em all and he stands out in a very genuine way.

  • as good as he is, hes very modest and humble about his abilities

  • This guy pioneered his sound. A few tried like hell to copy him in the late 80's. But George was unique and started a whole new guitar playing style. It wasn't Eddie Van Halen, or any of those drugged up, drunken morons from the typical hair-metal bands(Motley Crue, GnR, Poison). I've seen him live at "The Monsters of Rock" Tour. He sounded this good live, in 95 degree heat with 110 percent humidity.

  • @ktbear02 / I saw that Monsters of Rock tour and George killed. I saw them at RFK stadium in D.C.

  • @ktbear02 I haer Ya Bro. George is Unique and Completely Flawless.I Love his style and I am a Huge Fan of His,Have been for years, He's been a total Inspiration to me through the Years!!! My Total Favorite Guitarist on the PLANET!!!!!!!

  • Nice...

  • favored @kidkel69

  • Man His Tone Is FLAWLESS,It's Got so much Power, and So Distinct,I Love it,Absolutely Bad Ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The Song im Talking about Everyone is (Dance of the Dogs) Watch the Timing Like Below and that Right Hand how Smooth it is!!!!!!! BRILLIANT!!!!!

  • @chadmbedwell

    The Dance is Epic!

  • @chadmbedwell Why do You capitalize Random words?

  • @shep79 To make fool's ask questions such as that!!!!!LMAO (just messin with ya oh hell sometimes I get in a hurry writing things.

  • @chadmbedwell Rock on!

  • To all Lynchsters Look How Bad Ass George is Right at 2:23 to 2:29,How it Flips at 2:23 that Five way Switch up and Back Down at 2:29 Very Smooth To Reach out for that Single Coil Low End Sound,Absolutely Bad Ass!!!!

  • I would love to meet this Mark Thompson.

  • Who's Mark Thompson??????????????/

  • He was George Lynches guitar teacher in the early to mid 90s. I am a guitar teacher myself, and find it rare that a guitarist as good as George Lynch admits to having a teacher. But I am 40 and took 9 years of lessons, you can always get better. He mentions Mark Thompson right before he starts improvising at the end.

  • I also love the last piece at like 7:16.I have seen lots of comments where some say Geo uses or used too many effects and that's straight up clean and love that piece.Sorta like"big file test-hd" he did.Effects or not he can slam!

  • You Damn Right@ Petie1 He Can slam!!!!!!!

  • Oh man....Thanks for bringing this up and back in the early 90's I had just gotten married and money was tight and I had my eye on and a chance to have a Charvel dead on this guitar and I spent my money on a digitech gsp 21 legend pro that had like 3 presets from 21 famous players such as George and sometimes I still think I should have went with the Charvel.I think it was dead on and if memory serves me correct it had sharkfin inlays was the only difference.I do know I loved that guitar!

  • Man Iwould have went with that Charvel,They Have one on Ebay that Looks Just Like this,The Color is (Amber Lager Quilted Maple Top)

  • man i'd love to have that orange esp. sooo sick. is that the one you guys are talkin about? doesn't it have a quilted top? not flamed... the headstock lookes quilted too...maybe birdseye? i def wanna get a charvel similar to that esp...

  • You Damn Right,I It is a Quited Top,Either way I want that Orange Flamed Maple Bad Ass Guitar, I am Looking everyday at Diffrent Guitar Companies and on ebay for one that Looks alot like that,I really Love that Color!!!!

  • There's One on EBAY, Just Like it .But it's Like about $3,000 It's a Charvel on EBAY!

Yea the Color is AMBER LAGER QUILTED MAPLE TOP, It's a Beauty isn't,I would Take that Color Guitar any Brand, and that's Hard for me to say Because I am an ESP man!!!!!!!

  • That is a very distinctive tone that I have always loved. I suppose he wanted something new and different with the Lynch box. I like the tone of the Plexi better.

  • To all the Viewers on Here,I am a Huge Lynch Fan you can go to my Page and see for yourselfand watch my Uploaded Fragment Material. By the way does Anyone Know the Name of the ESP HE IS,USING IN THESE Videos,I am Trying to Hunt one Down,I have got to have one,If anyone knows Could you please let me know ,Thanks Chad

  • That is a custom shop ESP. You can't buy an ESP model like that one. The Fender style headstock would get ESP sued by Fender. You'll have to get a Charvel with a flamed maple top and live with it not having the ESP logo on it.

  • Hey Man thanks,But you know I could Live without that shaped Headstock and settle for another, I just would Love to have the Body,Neck,& Fretboard on it. I just want to know what that Color is,I doesn't look Like a Flamed Body it has to be something else other than Flame you thnik Really Look at it.Thanks W/B

  • The body of this guitar is maple with a flamed maple top. The neck is quarter sawn maple. The fretboard is ebony. Seymour Duncan pickups. Original Floyd. I've heard that it was a gift from ESP. So if you want that look in a guitar, you must have a guitar body with a flamed maple top at least. Go to any guitar center and look first hand at any guitar of any color with a flamed maple top and you will see this type of finish on it.

  • Hey Man thanks,I Looked at alot of sites last nightLike Guitar Center & Musician's friend Zzounds and Many more,Also went on ebay I found some Flamed Maple Guitars ,But not that Orange color Like on Lynch's,I saw Red,Perple & Green and a Sundurst color,But No Orange If you happen to Just be Browsing and come across one similiar to that Please let me know thanks for your Help!

  • No problem bro. If I run across any orange flamed maple top sunburst Superstrat style guitar, I will let you know. You can always order that color from any manufacturer custom shop, but it will not be cheap. Whoever's guitars I end up endorsing, I want mahogany body with flamed maple top. They are BEAUTIFUL!!

  • Hey Man I found this Exact Guitar on Ebay,Except it's a Charvel and it's like over $3,000,The Color is (Amber Lager Quilted Maple Top) It's a Fllawless Guitar it's a Beauty!!!!!!!

  • That sounds reasonable, particularly if it is from the early 80's. Of course, I'd want to check the serial number before paying someone that much.

  • Too Ninjaro... Yes He is Playing through His Soldano's on these Songs,Fucking Soldano Rules,

  • I'd love to know what amp heads he's using here because I like this tone better than his Lynch Box.

  • agreed

  • There are Soldano heads in the control room. Can anyone confirm if those are actually the amp heads he's playing through here? This tone is killer.

  • You cant say man, all I know that it sounds better then his signature heads

  • Yea man. Even a basic modern JCM800 sounds better than the Lynch box. I don't know anyone who's playing through one. Randall makes great amps and all, but something just sounds off with the tone in his Lynch box, to me.

  • Yea but still a great player though

  • Indeed. He always was and always will be. That is without question.

  • No, he's playing through the purple plexi on the top of the rack. You can see the ligtht on at 3.10. It is a sort of non master volume with a n.39 caswell mod

  • His tone and sound are so george lynch.

  • we know its IM!!!!!!

  • did you all see that. He was Rocking untill the last minute. Lol. A True Rocker! Cheers George. You are cool. =P

  • Great George!!!!

    Beautiful, inspired solos!!

  • Yeah, George was a great player (especially back in those unmatchable Dokken daze), but he's a self-taught musician and that's why his style seems awkward to trained ears. I say "was" because while I give any veteran rocker credit for hanging in there well beyond his due, the lethal weapon you see and hear in the video above no longer exists.

  • The only guitar teacher he ever had was Joe Satriani actually and he only took a few lesson from him..

  • at 6;23 is that a 7 string ESP from the 80s??

  • I think Lynch is a good player. But, I find he looks ackward when he plays. He never looks comfortable.

  • Can't really see what you mean here. He's holding his arms and his guitar that way cause it makes it easier for him to play that way.

  • George's hair style is sick lol

  • His tone is even sicker.

  • MAN been lookin for this ever since my "friend" borrowed my VHS copy and vanished off the planet.....dies if I find him lol, THANX MUCHES!!!!! memories of wasted youth and good times!

  • I love that guitar he is playing!

  • @NJ1810 You Damn Right I have found that Guitar on Ebay But it's a Charvel man.I think it was in Japan,Anyway the Color is Amber Lager Quilted Maple

  • @NJ1810 You Damn right I have tried finding this Guitar but it was made and given to George for using it in these Segments,I have seen Charvel make this Color and model it Looks almost Ident. except for the Pickups. The Color is (Amber Lager Quilted Maple Top) Bad Ass Guitar!!!!!!!

  • @NJ1810 It's Bad Ass isn't it,The Color is called Amber Lager Quilted Maple Top!

ESP Gave it to him,Built Especially for him as a Present back when he was Making this Album,So he put it to use,I Read were ESP asked if he would Record one Song With this Guitar, and Heended up doing almost the Whole Damn Album with it. Good Old Lynch I Fucking Love'em, For 55 years old He's Still Kicking MAJOR Ass!!!

  • Then I misunderstand the comment on his playing and I hope you'll accept my appologies and tc!

  • You had to share this?.....why?...I mean go watch stuff you do like and quit trying to irritate people!

  • Thanks for sharing and I was looking for this vid of the whole ending!...So i did not have to drag out my reh tape!...I love the ending solo that wasn't a studio take.

  • I like the way he handles his pick !

  • Incredible talent.

  • @QuantumStates GIFTED,and FLAWLESS!!

  • @QuantumStates I am Glad to see a comment like yours,That proves there are people that Have a Brain and Great Ears,I would Have to say though His Talent is Flawless,But he was born with this GIFT TO PLAY LIKE THAT!!! He's Def. the Man!!

  • his tone is so evhy (kinda thin though )

  • He's trying to hard to be cute when he speak's.

This is probebly early 90's..God it's so irritating

when he talk's..Its that fake guitar God"and trying to be pretty for girls

thing..I did all of that shit back then"Hell i lived in

van nyes dont know if i spelled it right..Anyway he

was recording like right in the same area...Right by the anheuser busch..I cant remember the street name bosco mabe? Oh'well i guess it's not important...

  • Yes, but he is recording one of the best rock albums ever...where's your landmark album?

  • Lmao.Trying to be pretty for the girls on a guitar instructional video I doubt hardly any woman bought!.....Your out of your crack rock smoking mind!

  • 7.18 - 7.22 is fukin juicy!

  • Hard to imagine him having a guitar teacher

  • Great style...so fun to watch/listen lol. Depressing too at the same time!

  • he looks so skinny back in the day.. now is like Mr. Universe.lol What a great player... amazing !!!

  • Damn!He has a great tone.

    SLO is fucking awsome.

  • i have been saying that about the slo all over youtube. sweetest, smoothest distortion and when matched with a tasteful player? awesome.

love that esp, would look even better with a matching headstock.

  • i'm starting to friggin' hate how all these guitarists make everything seem effortless.

  • Sucks don't it? ;D You should see some friends of mine. Like a blend of George with Robben Ford. Shred with taste. Talk about wanting to throw your guitars away.

  • Whoa what does that lever on the headstock at 6:06 do? Does it drop the low E string down to D?

  • Probably not. On a real guitar that would mess up the tuning on all the other strings.

  • Oh yeah forgot about that. Thanks bro!

  • its quite possible, some guitars have that mechanism, but ive never seen it on the neck, only by the bridge...

  • That's a Hipshot tuner. They were used mostly on bass (Kubicki), but they did make one for guitar. That's a fixed bridge 7 string (no locking nut), so it probably drops the B down to an A so you can hit the Brown Note. ;D

  • Sweet thanks for the info! Looks like an interesting product. As far as the "Brown Note," I thought you meant brown sound at first until I looked it up haha

  • You can do that though, with the EVH Drop-D Tuna. Serious. Look it up.

  • Lynch rules! Great tone. Check out Rik Morosini's version of Malmsteen "BLUE", pretty amazing.

  • This sounds like music from MEATBALLS 4 and Saved by the bell.

  • 6:31 WHAT SONG !?

  • 6:31 SOLO RULES

  • lynch has become sucks... dunno why but i do the old lynch .. full spirit and melody

  • lynch has a pretty unique style of playing..

  • The pinch harmonics scream! Iplay guitar my self and can do them but can not get that tone. What effects is he using

  • I think the pick up matters the most :D

  • Most of this sound comes of course from the man himself. But as for the rest.....Soldano SLO 100....outboard effects probably from the studio-slight detune and delay from something expensive-Lexicon 480, PCM 80/81 Eventide DSP 3000/4000 or TC electronics 2290...He may or may not be using an overdrive pedal but with the Soldano you don't need it....

    Rick

  • He's using a phaser as well

  • its his perfect combination of bend and pick technique. You have to bend at the exact moment that you pick the note. Plus his chorus effect helps a great deal.

  • lynch rules!

  • The best guitar tone ever!!!

  • I loved the ending track most!...Nice blusey track and I've owned the REH vid forever and a day. Thanks for sharing and King George Rocks!
