Not just for a Republican. This man truly is what Congressmen are supposed to be: a representative of the people. Poll after poll shows that well over 60% of the people disapprove of our course in Iraq and support redeployment. If more politicians were loyal to their constituencies rather than party leaders, we'd have a much easier time getting legislation concerning Iraq through both houses of Congress.

I lived in New York City for the first couple of years of Rudy Giuliani's term as mayor and it was refreshing to see that his ideologies were based around his own principles rather than party lines. However, his flip-flopping lately has turned me off and he's now like the rest of them.

I agree that Hagel is among the most stand-up Republicans, but I'd like to know his stand on more issues than just Iraq before he gets my vote.
