Thats so very true, the Scots kick and shout about Independance as if its one in the eye for England. The fact is ENGLAND CAN'T BLOODY WAIT for Independance. The North Sea oil is almost gone, without that Scotland will go bankrupt and England must not help them at all. I think its great in 25 years Scotland will be begging for financial help. It's a referendum that will prob offer 3 choices (i) keep things as they are (ii) more devolution (iii) Scottish Govt to seek terms for indpendence from Westminster. Yep, Wales gets a referendum as well I think.

Look, Scotland is the oil capital of Europe, produces more oil than Kuwait and the revenues have kept Westminster in stockings and gin for 30 years. Not for much longer. You clearly haven't done any research into the Scots oil sector which has at least another 40 years of production. The revenues of which should be, like Norway, invested in Scottih Oil Fund and not spent on British vanity and illegal wars.

nice video. The start highlights the ambiguity of the whole concept of the UK, and britishness. If scotland leaves, will you still be British? what if Emgland wants to leave the union? that would leave 2 and a half countries as part of the UK.Its a very odd concept. Maybe something like the relationship that the scandinavians have would be healthier.

Interesting. And none of those two and a half countries would have shared borders. I often wonder where the dissolution of the 1707 union would leave Northern Ireland. There would no longer be a U.K. for it to belong to. It wouldn't want to join Eire but it would be too small and dysfunctional to be a state on its own.
