  • Maddow is something of a freak.

  • Even given the "update" that Maddow was wrong in that Palin was referring to a USDA research station and not biomedical research, Palin still doesn't have a leg to stand her idiotic statment on. Insects that eat crops have a huge impact on any nation that grows them and finding ways to stop them is a totally valid way of using research funding.

  • Palin 0 Fruit fly's 1

Go fruit fly's we believes in you!

  • she's a lot hotter then palin

  • I think what pains Rachel the most is she has a huge crush on Sarah

  • @greptor

That would be some very wierd pr0n indeed

  • my mouse slipped and i almost hit thumbs down... i guess thats what the other guy did

  • fruit flies are annoying. And Coffee Time sucks.

  • Palin is so dumb

  • Sarah Palin is a dumb RepubliCUNT, end of topic.

  • LOL. Nice.

  • You guy's don't get it.Palin thinks your'e talking about gay bugs,

  • If I didnt have a science background, I would probably dismiss fruit flies studies. However, fruit flies are super important to research. Quite ignorant of Palin to make that comment.

  • This lady is smart. That Palin is a fucking idiotic bitch.

And I am one very unhappy, atheist, biology research student living in Texas. Yeah--I should get my ass out of here really soon.

  • Please all American scientists come to the U.K and Europe (I know the U.K is part of Europe) just for a week so you can see how much we love what you do and appreciate the fucking bullshit you have to put up with from your own country. Come to our universities and you'll see that this ridiculous attitude of sarah palin is unfortunately localised to America. Your scientific work is valued and we fully support you as together we make the world a better place.

  • @360cbh its such a political battle field out here... were the only country where 1 side says "space exploration is important" and the other side says "well jesus should be back in about 30 years so lets spend money on the military"... and both sides have millions of followers... i feel like i live in a christian iran called the usa... im totally moving to canada... if norway or britan legalizes weed then ill move to one of those countries instead

  • and you're an idiot......

  • surely palin has advisors and script writers - i dont see how they let her make this blunder

the irony of picking out autism as a think to cure and fruit flys the basal mainstay of genetics as a thing to cut it nstaggering and appauling.

you can tell she is addressing republicans as she says "paris , france" - only rebuplicans need that 2nd bit of info.

  • lol maybe they thought it would be funny. you know, theyre just giggling behind stage lol XD honestly, your right though. I have no idea how they could let such a blunder go by.

  • She did believe what she said.

"Fruit flies study is silly and not needed"

Fact that she seems to refer some specific study is most likely because she ´studied´ budget and where earmark money is going and probably thought "oh this must be the silliest thing i have ever heard, im gonna use this "

If she _Really_ was referring to a _specific_ study, she would _not_ have made such a general statement, which would label whole scientific area of research.

  • I seriously doubt Palin knew much about the research referred. The money went to a USDA Resarch lab in Montpellier, France. FYI - Montpellier is down near Toulouse, nowhere near Paris. Links were posted in 'Info.'

Maddow's claims weren't "stupid." And - it matters little regarding Palin. She & McCain weren't nominated thankfully.

Back to intelligence being en vogue.

  • @ecoflame

"Maddow's claims weren't "stupid." And - it matters little regarding Palin. She & McCain weren't nominated thankfully."

But since there's talk of running stupid Palin in 12 I say this is a very relevant topic.

She's kind of dumb...not to mention her belief in being with magical powers.

  • Palin does not make that clear, so how do you know. She just says "fruit flies" and everyone sniggers. They don't know if she means any particular study.

Ten seconds earlier, she mentions "bridges" as an example of inept spending. Like the "bridge to nowhere" that SHE supported.

  • She is so bright, so rational- she must be an Atheist.

  • @nursemama0771 she's a man, whereas sarah palin is a bimbo woman

  • @nursemama0771

    Hey she could be Agnostic...

  • @PancakeRecipes hey, she could be both... lol

  • @nursemama0771 here...here...indeed

  • amazing women...the later one.

  • This lady is good! Over 100x brighter than the ignorant bitch who was running for vice president.

  • she's trying go give it a DALY SHOW with jon stewart feel

  • Rachel Maddow is one of the best political analysts I've ever seen.

She's quick, smart, funny, is outrageously clever. Sometimes I have to watch clips of her two or three times to understand what she's saying.

And she's saying this stuff unscripted, with a brilliant vocabulary but at the same time not trying to wow people with big words.

I wish I was as quick and bright as she is. She is one powerful woman, one I would NOT want to be in an intellectual debate with :P

  • I LOVE Rachel... and it once again proves how dumb Sarah Palin is... or how dumb the handlers that write that garbage for her are...

  • Rachel Maddow. Swoon!

  • Rachel and Keithie sitting a tree

    P U N D It ING

    (had to make it (fit)

    First comes Facts

    Then comes Logic

Then comes the Neocon Pundits who aren';t fit to eat the corn out of rachel's poo.

  • This little ditty is not 'attacking' Rachel (or Keith, FTM). I had to read it twice before getting it.

  • I know.

  • I know why I like her. Besides being smart she's inquisitive, quick, AND she listens. So while someone is presenting their argument or stance, she's listening. She's not (necessarily) formulating a response. She doesn't have to. She educated; she knows her stuff and she knwos how to tie in her knowledge with what's happening either in the conversation she listening to or the issue at hand.

  • I think it can be boiled down to intelligence. Witty intelligence at that.

    Very good assessment.

  • Agreed. I'm not as liberal as she is, so I don't watch MSNBC hardly ever (I don't watch Fox either, or really any cable news network either) but every time I see her do an interview or come on another program I'm always impressed. I like people who are patient and thoughtful yet can also exhibit a real personality, and she does all those things well :)

  • @ecoflame what you said about Palin is the exactly things she dont got, she's a fucking creationist who dosen't belive in sceince or in anything besides religion....she change her opinion as the rain drops.. its a shame she was born in the wrong cuntry i think North korea whould have suited her perfectly.

  • I still haven't figured out why I like this lady so much. She's like the Coke that chases the bourbon that is Keith Olbermann.

  • Rachel at her most adorable. :-)
