  • "What was that???"

  • Wow! Great job!

  • That is effing brilliant! I always meant to try something like this although I would never have got it as good as that. I think some of your heat effects look better than the movie.

Altough its the greatest opening scene ever its too damn short! you're just getting to dig the re-entry sequence and the music and then it all stops for the dialogue and 'crash'. I't be brilliant to have extended version - thats what made me think of modelling it. .

    again - great job

  • Did The Primary Buffer-Panel Just Fall Off That Gorram Ship?!

  • @SamFisher147 my not that lol

  • @ItzLiaMXD I wasn't really quoting I was saying it as if I was watching it happening and then asked someone next to me "Did the primary-buffer panel just fall off THAT gorram ship?" but if I was to quote Mal I would of put Quotation marks. " " (those things) :D

  • @SamFisher147 don't have too :D I don't.

  • I KNEW it was Lightwave before I read the description!

    Very good work.

  • Wow that was awesome!

  • Shiny! Yes, the exhaust from those side engines was exaggerated a bit, and the "Serenity" logo is a bit blurry around the edges, but aside from that this animation is fantastic.

--Did the primary buffer panel just fall off my gorram ship for no apparent reason!?!?

    --Looks like.

  • Brilliant! I wish I could create an animation like this. This is the greatest opening scene to a movie ever, and it's on the greatest movie ever!

How did you animate Serenity like that? Could you show me how, or send me a link to the software you used so that I could download it and give it a go?

You've done the impossible and that makes you mighty :D

    Long Live Firefly!

  • Shiny! Love the music, sometimes I watch it just for this opening music lol!

  • well done

  • THUNK! What was that?! Shiny job!

  • This little clip is my favorite scene in the whole movie

  • I think this is great, but a little bit of camera shake/shudder and a few stars, as well as some very light, reflective fog to simulate the heat coming off the engines.. it'd be perfect.

    Very well done!

  • i could only dream of making that

  • Shiny, ref090, but I'm having trouble with the audio.

  • awesome job.

  • Excellent.

  • i need lightwave...

ohwel, but you should copy it frame for frame...

and u should model everything by ur self, other wise its just not as good...

    ohwel, still nice work

  • If ref090 was doing animation for a big production company there is every possibility that he or she might have to work with a model constructed by someone else. I for one cannot blame someone for using whatever resources available to achieve a certain end goal... and do you have any idea how difficult a model of the Serenity is to build in 3D? I've tried - the keyword here being 'tried'...

  • that was good man very well I'm looking for this soundtrack everywhere what's it called

  • I am an immature 13 year old who daydreams about owning my own spaceship, and whenever I reenter, this music plays

  • you are awesome. i was wondering if i should use lightwave. you just gave me a pretty good reason. thank you

  • magnifique

  • Also, I think you overdid the thrust from the side engines. I need to check the show/movie again to be sure, but I don't think they had quite so much output.

Small things, both of them. I just thought I'd bring them up.

And to end on a positive note, I really liked the effect of the tail engine's light rotating around the back of the ship.

  • Nicely done. How many people noticed the panel that flew off at the last second?

A little bit of constructive criticism, if you don't mind.

Something is off on the edges of the Serenity logo. The sides of the word fade. (cont.)

  • Just fantastic work - I am in awe

  • Beauty, eh!?

  • Hot as hell. Go you.

  • Oh, excellent. You captured the atmo entry really well. Can't wait to see more.

  • All it lacks is the shakey-cam effect to make it real ;) Well done!
