samoa can just invade tonga anytime we want. the only reason tonga ruled the pacific back then because they werent happy with what they had so they prepared for it to go war with samoa. so if you think about it samoa never knew about tonga trying to takeover we were just happy with what we had, if tonga let the samoans know about them coming over, i dont think they would've made it out of Tonga.

Hey dumbazz, Tonga's population is roughly 120K, whereas Samoa's is about 240K (american and western combined). I don't know what kind of math you use in Tonga but based on those #s, Samoa's twice as populated, not 10 x you lemu. If everyone in Tonga possesses the same same math skillz, then we can't even trust those population #s from Tonga.

Can't blame the Tongans for coveting the Samoan islands. Hell, even the 3 mightiest nations (U.S., Germany & Great Britain) were battlin it out in Apia Harbor in the late 1800s for the rights to the Samoan isles. That, my friend, is why Samoa is special. in history, america samoa wasnt called america samoa, it was called tu'i manu'a and tutuila,western samoa was called sava'i, upolu and tonga, as you know tonga means south of sava'i and upolu, the genetics of the tongans are interesting, they have the melanesian blood and polynesian, (melanesian=fijian blood)+(samoan=polynesian blood)= the tongan people today, even the genetic markers in the language shows in exchange of languages between the fijians and samoans in tonga.

The reason why tui manua is called American Samoa is because Samoa was conquered by America just like they were conquered by the Germans, the British and the Tongans.
Tonga on the other hand is the only island nation in the Pacific that has never been colonized and still remains a fully independant nation.
