That's right on some level. If you look at early EDM & Rap in the 70's they were both very disco orientated so it was natural for them to develop along with each other. Modern electro has kind of lost its original meaning. It was born as Electrofunk, so there would have been MCs. But I think the modern styles have definitely grown apart
