@coaticook20 Maybe you should look at the date this video was uploaded before making stupid statements. When I recorded this video the game had only been online for a few hours and it was the first time I logged in. Forgive me for not instantly knowing the maps and all the control's.

I found the weapon wheel that pops up with L2 or R2 or whatever, but couldn't get how to switch weapons. Maybe i was just really frustrated with this fucking game and its contols. @AkshunAffirmative In terms of features and aesthetics, CoD and Socom are exactly alike. Socom 4 is more similar to CoD than it is to Socom. Thats the problem that I and many others have. The game just does not play like Socom. If you actually played the older Socoms you would understand this.

Socom 3 .U.S. Navy Seals was the best Socom ever but when it was made off of the PS2 it started to suck Zipper has last there game making skills for Socom
@kevkevTT If you like cheap toys and motion sensor gimmicks, then ya I guess... I personally lost interest in the game the moment I played it. On the bright side, zipper saved me $60, on the bad side, zipper shot themselves in the foot with this beta and a lot of bad feedback in the beta forums. I don't see this game selling well at all.

I played the beta. Verdict? Another uninspired game in the FPS genre. I think it's time the game industry declared a moratorium on military shooters until someone has something original to add to the pot. Anyway, since DICE has upped the anted so much with superior sound and destructible environments, everything else is pretty much a joke.
Socom will be a waste of money. its been downloading (reciving server info) for 13 hours it reminds my of Mag beta Playstation Plus its B.s lets just hope they fix the servers on Socom games because they suck.

@CmcKing033 I really don't think Sony had that big of a role in how this game turned out. Zipper was simply just trying something new and they should of done it with it a new IP. Either way, I don't think Socom 4 is terrible, its just not great. Its a pretty average game. It doesnt really stand out or do anything special, and its fun for a bit but I get bored quickly with it. I'm still not sure if I'm going to buy it. If only it played closer to its roots, but as it is, its not socom.

@GuyanaBai18 Eh, I havnt paid much attention to it, but pretty much you get points for kills,objectives,winning rounds and you rank up. The guns rank up based on how much you use them and you unlock attachments for them. It seems pretty quick in the beta. I was able to get a scope and suppressor for my M4 fairly quick.

Idk for me i feel like if they did bring a so called true socom game i think, in my personally opinion would have been too noob friendly. I liked socom but realizing how it plays back in ps2 day its pretty easy just hold the fire button and just hip firing. Hey maybe im too consumed in the aim down sights community but itsn't aiming down sights and getting accurate kills then just hip firing around. Kinda would feel like a old skool pc game but hey like i said i may be consumed in aim down group
@SladeNoctis I personally can't stand iron sights. S2 was more than just running around hip firing. The game took a lot of skill and aiming wasnt that easy.
@Raansu Yea maybe back then i was used to hip firing and i know the aim was kind of hard but i guess i got too used to iron sights that i think hip fire is only required in close encounters. I know the socom sommunity is used to hip firing so hopefully there will be some custom setups that allow more of s2 feel but im actually glad they added features like cover system and iron sights. Well its a good thing they allowed multiple options.
@Raansu Dude, S2 was nothing but hip firing and grenades. Snipers were the only ones really, or the M14 zoom in zoom out 1 shot head shots where the only times it would be used. Needless to say, I doubt this will be as great as S2 was, but it will be fun nonetheless.

The director of Socom is very slow with how money gets brought in, its not by copying others to get there. Its about being ORIGINAL. Now, they made the game look like garbage. lol
i dont understand, forget everything else, zipper claimed they were moving the movement speed closer to s2 movement speed, but just from watching you move around in this vid theres no f'n way thats close to the movement of s2. The movement looks really "heavy" and slow... so EVERYONE is gonna be whoring the cover system. Very disappointing.
@Zer0tobackdown The sprinting is pretty close to S2 speeds, and it feels a lot faster than Confrontation. The game kinda forces you to use the cover system because of how close the camera is when your moving around. The cover system zooms the camera out so you can see more of the area. I think they did that to eliminate corner campers, but people will always corner camp, even if they can't see around the corner very well lol.
@Raansu yea i can kinda see the sprint speed is fast, but the actual strafing is what i meant.. like your movement left/right when your in a gunfight or when your moving and just trying to fire your weapon, it just looks kinda sluggish. The graphics look great but the core gameplay mechanics need alot of work. MOST of the posts ive read from people that have played the beta and been around the socom series for awhile has been almost all negative/disappointment. Thanks for the response tho.
I'm a old school socom player and I gave up long ago on ever getting a game like the first two. That being said, I really did enjoy playing the beta. The game is really fun. Its part CoD, part MAG, and part Socom

@ACDC983 The dancing thing is just kinda funny to do in a match, and funnier to watch them get shot while dancing. As for homefront or socom, ehhh I dunno. Homefront is fun, but I really hate getting killed by airstrikes. I hated it in CoD as well and I feel it cheapens the experience. S4 is ok, but it doesnt feel like socom anymore. Not sure if I'll pick the game up or not.
I miss the good old days of Socom 2 on the PS2, before the fall with hackers. I was in a clan called Dragon, good times with my beat boxing leader.

I played the beta. Verdict? Another uninspired game in the FPS genre. I think it's time the game industry declared a moratorium on military shooters until someone has something original to add to the pot. Anyway, since DICE has upped the anted so much with superior sound and destructible environments, everything else is pretty much a joke.

Socom will be a waste of money. its been downloading (reciving server info) for 13 hours it reminds my of Mag beta Playstation Plus its B.s lets just hope they fix the servers on Socom games because they suck.

@ReaperCheGuevara I played the game about four hours or so after my first comment and I gotta say even tho it took forever I gotta say the game is extreamly additcing and for me. I never played SOCOM before and I'll admit it it did take a while b4 i could start playing it but it was worth it and I am going to preorder it it looks like a great game and great review 8)

the game should be called SOCOM EVOLUTION,lets just hope the glitchers,laggers trough walls shooters,one shot kill cheaters dont come again to destroy the game again,killcam would be handy to expose cheaters,dont see cheating in bfbc2 and moh,so zipper if ea can do it so can you.

@CmcKing033 I really don't think Sony had that big of a role in how this game turned out. Zipper was simply just trying something new and they should of done it with it a new IP. Either way, I don't think Socom 4 is terrible, its just not great. Its a pretty average game. It doesnt really stand out or do anything special, and its fun for a bit but I get bored quickly with it. I'm still not sure if I'm going to buy it. If only it played closer to its roots, but as it is, its not socom.

@GuyanaBai18 Eh, I havnt paid much attention to it, but pretty much you get points for kills,objectives,winning rounds and you rank up. The guns rank up based on how much you use them and you unlock attachments for them. It seems pretty quick in the beta. I was able to get a scope and suppressor for my M4 fairly quick.

Idk for me i feel like if they did bring a so called true socom game i think, in my personally opinion would have been too noob friendly. I liked socom but realizing how it plays back in ps2 day its pretty easy just hold the fire button and just hip firing. Hey maybe im too consumed in the aim down sights community but itsn't aiming down sights and getting accurate kills then just hip firing around. Kinda would feel like a old skool pc game but hey like i said i may be consumed in aim down group

@SladeNoctis I personally can't stand iron sights. S2 was more than just running around hip firing. The game took a lot of skill and aiming wasnt that easy.

@Raansu Yea maybe back then i was used to hip firing and i know the aim was kind of hard but i guess i got too used to iron sights that i think hip fire is only required in close encounters. I know the socom sommunity is used to hip firing so hopefully there will be some custom setups that allow more of s2 feel but im actually glad they added features like cover system and iron sights. Well its a good thing they allowed multiple options.

@Raansu Dude, S2 was nothing but hip firing and grenades. Snipers were the only ones really, or the M14 zoom in zoom out 1 shot head shots where the only times it would be used. Needless to say, I doubt this will be as great as S2 was, but it will be fun nonetheless.

The director of Socom is very slow with how money gets brought in, its not by copying others to get there. Its about being ORIGINAL. Now, they made the game look like garbage. lol

i dont understand, forget everything else, zipper claimed they were moving the movement speed closer to s2 movement speed, but just from watching you move around in this vid theres no f'n way thats close to the movement of s2. The movement looks really "heavy" and slow... so EVERYONE is gonna be whoring the cover system. Very disappointing.

@Zer0tobackdown The sprinting is pretty close to S2 speeds, and it feels a lot faster than Confrontation. The game kinda forces you to use the cover system because of how close the camera is when your moving around. The cover system zooms the camera out so you can see more of the area. I think they did that to eliminate corner campers, but people will always corner camp, even if they can't see around the corner very well lol.

@Raansu yea i can kinda see the sprint speed is fast, but the actual strafing is what i meant.. like your movement left/right when your in a gunfight or when your moving and just trying to fire your weapon, it just looks kinda sluggish. The graphics look great but the core gameplay mechanics need alot of work. MOST of the posts ive read from people that have played the beta and been around the socom series for awhile has been almost all negative/disappointment. Thanks for the response tho.

I'm a old school socom player and I gave up long ago on ever getting a game like the first two. That being said, I really did enjoy playing the beta. The game is really fun. Its part CoD, part MAG, and part Socom

@runback22 Ya I wouldnt say its a terrible game. But I won't ever consider it Socom. If it was titled something else I'd prolly be less judging of the game. But ya I feel the same way. After playing I gave up on ever getting a true socom sequel.

@ACDC983 The dancing thing is just kinda funny to do in a match, and funnier to watch them get shot while dancing. As for homefront or socom, ehhh I dunno. Homefront is fun, but I really hate getting killed by airstrikes. I hated it in CoD as well and I feel it cheapens the experience. S4 is ok, but it doesnt feel like socom anymore. Not sure if I'll pick the game up or not.
