The only reason Australia is staying afloat in the current global climate is due to the mining boom in Western Australia and Queesnland, which can't last forever.

Australia is selling uranium overseas for a bargain price instead of hording it here and using it for nuclear power to reduce emissions. Uranium will be the next global fuel source. In years to come we will be laughed at for selling uranium so cheaply, much like the native Americans who sold Manhattan for a pittance.

Nuclear power is not the way it simply swaps emissions for toxic waste that has nowhere to go but in the ground. And mining commodities are not our only strength if you had some research behind your argument you'd fair better, the Australian banking sector is running at a clear profit and is highly attractive to investors. Comparing current days to native Americans is just ignorant. There are many bio fuels and technologies available that dont require uranium and dont produce the same waste

Australia holds 40% of the worlds Uranium the Ideology of bio fuel is ridicules, we are in more need of food and it is woefully inadequate for our energy needs.

If this Country is going to meet the Kyoto protocol we MUST include Nuclear reactors. The technology at this time will not be sufficient to power Australia 100% of the time because, at this time, the energy is dictated purely on weather.

P.S. 80% of France is run by Nuclear Power and they have managed to store the waste adequately.

Love to and in a perfect world we would have enough money to do this and the sun would be beaming 24/7 for us to rely only on the sun.
