I love the fact that Taylor starts it really fast compared to the original tempo, or that of on say," Rush in Rio". They really don't play it this fast anymore. It's fun to see Geddy keepin' up during the solos. I also like how Taylor introduces Alex "Fuckin Goddamn"Lifeson!

The most sincere form of flattery is emulating someone else and doing it well. Taylor nailed it. Neil Peart wrote it that way and Taylor played it well.
If any other drummer had wrote the YYZ drum part they would have written it differently as is the case with all music. There's no sense doing the comparison of musical talents, it's all about the music.

Please. Neil is widely regarded as one of the greatest drummers in rock history. Pretty damn sure Taylor will never be referred to as such but anyone of any notoriety. Not only is Peart highly talented and creative, but he writes lyrics far better than most anyone I know.

They are manufactured pop band stemming from originally a period of time that has been the worst in music history. The real metal and prog rock bands have only started to come back in the last 6-7 years. Guitarists are actually starting to play leads again. Drummers are actually playing odd time and polyrhythms.
