  • He's beginning to have his comedic routine. The first part was from another speech.

  • Same thing goes for religion I guess.

  • its cool that i use your face in my facebook for my comments on (no you din't) faces..

  • @jnohnm879 Kill yourself, reddit scum.

  • Neil deGrasse Tyson is very smart. Even if he did believe in UFO's, do you honestly think an African American man who has gotten this much respect as an intelligent scientist and speaker would ruin all of that? his fame? his career as a media science star and family all down the tube because he decides to start expressing that he believes in UFOs? It's a rare sight to see a black man like him get as far as he did as a credible scientist speaker. HE IS NOT GONNA TELL U HE BELIEVES even if he did!

  • Mother Creator is good friends with aliens.

  • @superjaykramer. I know, right? Why does someone think that they are so much smarter than everbody else just because they are an astrophysicist? This guy is so self-centric.

  • I want this man's waistcoat really badly.

  • Why do the aliens do the sex experiments anyway? I think they're just the drunk college students or something.

  • Neil deGrasse, you're a looser!. This is not a talk about UFO Sightings, it's a talk about what how to maximise and publicise your self centric ego.

  • @superjaykramer yeah cause neil actually read your comment... stupid

  • Comment removed

  • Neil does not know what the fuck he is talking about regarding UFO's or Alien abdctions lol....

  • Question. Would the aliens give me super powers?

  • I love this guy. Great stuff.

  • Aliens? Pfft. It's the Illuminati you have to worry about...

    (obvious troll is being obvious)

  • I like how Neil's problem with Close Encounters of the Third Kind is about the runway lights and not the fact that when the mothership got there they played piano at it.

  • This is what happens when 130 IQ plays stand up comedian.

    Go Neil!! =)

  • @JillmanVideo

The max IQ is like over 200 right? I would put neil closer to the 200 range lol.

  • MACBOOK, BITCHES lol

  • @Craziestout F*CK YEAH!

  • @7A35

    You can

    Especially on this site :P

  • He's an alien

  • You notice how they laugh so openly at the alien abduction book? IT SHOULD BE EQUALLY ACCEPTABLE TO OPENLY LAUGH AT THE BIBLE, TORAH, BOOK OF MORMON AND QUR'AN.

  • smartphones were actually not that far off ten years ago. blackberry and nokia were selling some early iterations of what we have today

  • @jeffcouret I think you missed the point.

  • What's the deal with airline peanuts?

  • @MichaelTheOliver *Epic bassline*.

  • Does Neil do a TV show?

  • @lardtaziumwadmaster Nova science now

  • @KRP189 oh come on man stop trolling.

  • It would suck if they bought the ashtray at Wal Mart on a previous visit.

  • I had the lamest fucking science teachers on the planet. (sigh)

  • I want to meet this man.

  • @standingontruth1 I have stolen, I have lied I have lusted after countless women and the glory of other men. I have committed countless sins against your God but I do not and will not ever be blackmailed into worshiping a God who is so petty as to desire worship from his own creations. If he exists in the first place and if the gospels of Jesus are accurate, which I highly doubt.

  • UFO conspiracy believers, take a look at your beliefs through the looking glass of satire: youtube.com/watch?v=QyInKT95eG0

  • I imagine a spaceship might well use air for lift in an atmosphere; presumably, once your techniques got more sophisticated than "point a rocket and let gravity do the work," you'd be using entirely different navigation techniques near a planet, in an atmosphere, than in near-vacuum with roughly neutral gravity.

  • This should classify Neil as a comedian.

  • Comment removed

  • whyle Mike Tyson gave his opponents face a good punch, this Tyson gave the UFO B.S. itters what they deserve

  • @WonderWomanFan4life are you serious?? google please!

  • @WonderWomanFan4life He is an astrophysicist.

  • @WonderWomanFan4life He is the an astrophysicist and Director of the Hayden Planetarium, New York, NY.

  • @AegisNova

kool. thank you. i saw him on old show Big Bang which is pretty funny.

  • @WonderWomanFan4life

Shut the fuck up you freak, he most likely knows that there is other life in the universe. He's just bashing idiotic books and movies.

    That's all!

  • @WonderWomanFan4life

    and stupid people like you...

  • was he adjusting his penis??? IT MUSt be embarassing to be a guy and your peepee moves or itches in middle of a dam conference?? what to do?

  • I'm seen some things in my life. It's far easier to assume I'm just crazy.

  • I've seen two UFOS fly right over me and a friends head... idiot

  • @megadeth2thenwo You missed the point. Moron.

  • What a dumb argument. Of course it always remains unidentified, but if this thing makes unnatural movements and is able to accelerate to Mach10 from standing still, it is not strange to say that the UFO is under intelligent control and is probably using technology that we humans don't have. Mind you, these reports are numerous and started surfacing already in the 40's and 50's. Tyson is just playing a stupid word game and doesn't look at the facts. How scientific...

  • @NLPCPNL he also says that eyewitness acounts are useless

  • @SharbtursGameCorner

Witness accounts are useless if you want to come up with a scientific theory. They are not useless if you want to draw attention to a certain subject so you can actually start doing some scientific research on a certain subject. It's also useless to dismiss eyewitness accounts straight away and laughing at the people who have seen UFO's and didn't ask to have an experience like that. Normal people see them too, not just drunk hillbillies.

  • As entertaining and informative as Dr. Tyson is, when he gets to the part about evidence, he never accepts radar verification along with multiple eyewitnesses. He just won't go near any specifics. For example, the famous JAL1628 Alaskan incident with both FAA and military radar verification.

He has his shtick and riffs, but this is one area where he doesn't seem open to discussing events. He goes back to the "U" in ufo. But people also see many ships, and mechanical devices.

  • The first video I watched of Tyson was him explaining black holes. It was very informing. Since then, gone down hill fast. The more videos I watch, the more it seems like all he's interested in is resurrecting superstition in order to kill it again. Why not just let it die and educate people on real physics? Let people believe whatever superstitions they want to, Tyson. Let it go. Don't waste your mind on this stuff. You only fuel the fire....

  • Ufology produces only anecdotes, eye witness testimony, and "negative" evidence so far. It has no place in real science.

  • elitism is good is a rather retarded statement, became popular when Obama was called an elitist, and should be relevant to that. It's failure in the political sphere should show one its flaws easily enough, not to say ufology is anything but retardo, just dont like the response either.

  • If realization of a unification of 'forces' is made, then one can postulate that gravity can be affected by magnetic forces. Though conventional science has yet to tie the two together intrinsically through mathematics the fact remains that magnetism acts in many ways as gravity does.

Visualize what we can do if we finally bridge that gap where we can control gravity with electromagnetic waves! We are so close already, how many planets beat us to it?

13.7 billion years is a LONG time!.

  • It is possible that aliens with super advanced technology may have become inept because their "idiot proof" machines do not require them to be terribly intelligent to operate them.

  • He sounds like a 9 year old that talks to his friends in a classroom. Naysayer is as bad as a claimer. This guy should have a special room in psychiatric hospital. Astrophysicist with this behavior? That's what happends when retards get education, yet remain retarded. His behavior in these videos is of a 10 year old boy. Pathetic!

  • @Keelox100 Good job just calling people names is so not being childish yourself. If all you are going to is insult some one by calling them stupid like a 6 year old would you have no place to be calling some childish.

  • If an alien abductee were lift a piece of tech from the aliens and actually showed it to the authorities, they would immediately be carted off and burned at the stake, incinerated in an oven or be be buried out in the woods in a hole with some lye sprinkled on them.

I find this insulting as it implies that anybody who has seen objects that defy laws of physics are just purely stupid and don't know what they are talking about. We are being deceived at every opportunity.

  • @crazy8sdrums I don't think he's insinuating people that have seen unexplainable things in the sky are stupid, it's more along the lines of when you can't explain something, don't jump to a conclusion. Seeing something strange in the sky does not equal aliens.

  • @ThatBaldAtheist Well, I am highly educated in physics and aeronautics and I have witnessed first-hand many events in the sky that defied our current understanding of physics. One or two of two things is happening...

    1. There is a government coverup of technology that they possess and deny to the public.

    2. There is a government coverup of the existence of intelligent life that did not originate from Earth.

In either case, the current scientific view is greatly diminished in validity.

  • @crazy8sdrums You can claim whatever you want. I find it funny that you claim to be so highly educated in the realm of physics and aeronautics, and yet you jump to such bold conclusions. I would think that such an educated person as you claim to be, would seek a natural explanation. Your paranoia of the government and aliens destroys any credibility you may have. Do you honestly think that an alien species that can travel across the cosmos, would crash on earth due to technical spaceship errors?

  • @ThatBaldAtheist I don't claim anything. I know it, and it doesn't mean shit to me that you don't believe it. You don't appear to believe in anything anyway so what the fuck is the point of anybody believing in what you say when you don't believe in anything at all.

Since you don't believe in ETs you can't actually have any knowledge of them. I have some first-hand experience with ETs so that gives me more knowledge about the subject than you. You are ill-equipped for this debate.

  • @ThatBaldAtheist To succeed at debate, one must have knowledge of the debate subject. What knowledge is there to be had about something that does not exist? If something does not exist then there is no knowledge to be had about it.

Since you do not believe ETs exist, it is impossible for you to have any knowledge about them because relative to you they do not exist. Since you have no knowledge of the subject, you have failed this debate.

Atheism is emptiness in all respects.

  • @crazy8sdrums You're obviously not well educated in physics because you would have at least a rudimentary understanding of logic. Of course you can have knowledge and understanding about something that doesn't exist. Its called hypothesis and imagination. Physics is full of examples of theories of things that may or may not exist or predictive models. Like competing string theory models.

  • @nexusutube My IQ is 160+ and I have published papers in respected periodicals.

We aren't discussing theoretical models of the construction of the universe here. We were discussing ETs. Since you can't keep up with the subject of the conversation I'd suggest you drop out of it.

  • @crazy8sdrums Yes we are discussing theoretical models because you said they were impossible to have knowledge of unless they actually exist. And Mr 160 IQ whats your name and what respected periodicals? I'll look you up and see if you're bullshiting or not.

  • @nexusutube You aren't even web-savvy enough to have clicked the link to my channel where you would have found my name so what makes you think you could find my papers on the net if you tried?

I am glad that you find me interesting enough to send me your very best, though your best wasn't very good.

Cheers and have a great day!

  • @crazy8sdrums I still need those respected publications to search for your research. Or are you just full of shit like I suspected?

  • @nexusutube You are the smart one here right? Since you think you are so much smarter than I, you will just have to tax that mind of yours and do the work of researching my contributions yourself. Start with google.

  • @crazy8sdrums I didnt say I was going to do an extensive online investigation into your life. I simply wanted the names of the publications to easily search whether you were full of shit or not. Its obvious now that you are.

  • @nexusutube Your perception of me is seemingly negative merely because you aren't familiar enough with the myriad uses of a physics degree. Do you think all physicists use their knowledge simply for making particle accelerators and automobile powerplants? I used my physics degree to invent things. Some of the things which I have invented you will never get to see because you would only destroy yourself with it.

Instead, I make humble, but highly innovative drums... Drums are physics.

  • @crazy8sdrums I never criticized you for making drums. You implied that you were published in academic physics journals. I just asked which ones. If you wrote an article for some drum magazine just say so. You're committing the logical fallacy of appeal to authority in this case your own self aggrandizing authority. You claimed you're a genius 160 IQ and published therefore your right about UFOs. But thats not how science or proof works.

  • @nexusutube My IQ is 160+ and I am incredibly literate and know how to read comprehensively. I also know how to write comprehensively, but it requires someone who can comprehend it. If you go back and reread my post, you will notice that I said nothing of academic physics journals. You made an assumption and look where it got you.

I am an engineer by trade, and before making humble drums I made helicopters for Boeing. I published articles on composites in trade journals and drum articles.

  • @nexusutube You, on the other hand, are nothing but an anonymous moron with no identity whatsoever talking straight out of your ass and too stupid to realize that you've been beat. Now start talking about your real experience about UFOs or continue to look stupid and juvenile. If you have never seen a UFO then you don't have any experience with them and you fail your debate. Science is experiment by observation. Observe and know. Don't observe, don't know. Very simple. Everything else is faith.

  • @crazy8sdrums Again you prove you don't understand science. Science is hypothesize, make predictions then observe to see if your predictive model matches the evidence and eventually formulate theories. It's not observe and know. I knew you were full of shit with your phony self promotion. And now everyone reading can see you lied about being published. And you expect us to believe the ufo testimony from a proven liar.

  • @nexusutube So, you are basically arguing that I don't know what I have seen? I wasn't trying to convince anyone that aliens exist. I was trying to illustrate that being ignorant to their existence is not scientific. Science is about opening the mind and not about closing it.

I don't expect you to understand this because you are merely a youtube troll with nothing to show for yourself. Perhaps you are part of the disinformation campaign? Whatever floats your boat.

  • @crazy8sdrums

I don't think science is at all closed to the idea of contact with aliens. Scientists would probably be the people most excited to meet aliens because it would offer them the greatest opportunity to learn about the universe.

But testimony of individuals about their experiences is only as valid as people testifying to religious experience. If someone brings evidence, GREAT! If someone brings a story, call the media, not a scientist.

  • @DickJohnson3434 There is mounds of evidence scattered all around the world. Literally, MOUNDS....and megaliths and many inexplicable archaeological sites that display technology that we don't yet have today and we could not replicate.

Science ignores all of it except for a scant few brave souls with open minds who have taken their noses out of the textbooks and looked upon the world with real eyes instead of the picture painted by black ink letters.

  • @crazy8sdrums

Classy message you left on my profile by the way...

What is the best evidence you are aware of?

Can you please provide me a link?

  • @DickJohnson3434 For ancient technology, I'd suggest you look at Puma Punku in Bolivia. You will find granite cut with 0.001" accuracy in ways that we can barely replicate today with our best machinery. If you examine it with open mind, you will be forced to conclude one of two things... Either some ETs came and built it thousands of years ago, or pre-Incan peoples had access to machine tools better than what we have today.

It is utterly inexplicable by today's science. Puma Punku

  • @crazy8sdrums

I just looked at it and looks just like any other ancient ruin. It looks like it was built by human beings. Now if it's not known how ancient people were able to cut rock, that is one thing. But that is not evidence of aliens. Certainly not scientific evidence of aliens. Is that really your best example? The pyramids are built to astonishing accuracy as well.

  • @DickJohnson3434 You weren't able to see the technology used to create Puma Punku simply because you aren't as well-educated as you think you are. You were asking me for proof of alien technology and I gave it to you. You weren't able to understand it. I asked you proof of your intelligence and education level and you gave it to me.

You have only confirmed your emptiness. How do you expect to learn anything if your mind is so tightly shut?

  • @crazy8sdrums

Is there a reason why you are such an asshole to people?

  • @DickJohnson3434 Pre-emptive strike. I had already noted that you were just another mindless youtube troll before I first replied to you. Your goal in opening this line of communication with me was to try to make me look foolish or undereducated so that you could feel better about your own shortcomings.

Again, you are empty, and it is very easy to defeat empty-minded people in debate. Atheism is nothing, whereas theism is something. Nothingness does not exist.

    Are you real?

  • @crazy8sdrums

    Why am I a troll?

That still isn't justification for being an asshole.

Declaring some non physical enlightenment is not winning a debate.

  • @DickJohnson3434 I could just as easily said 'Oh look! Another Dick trying to be bigger than someone else.'.

I would say 'Don't be a dick!' to you, but I am afraid you are stuck with that for as long as you use that youtube account to troll from.

You are a troll because your channel has zero uploads which means you are nothing but an anonymous avatar with nothing pertinent to say at youtube. Faceless and empty.

...and not very smart, either, though you tried.

  • @crazy8sdrums

Talking to people on youtube without posting videos of yourself playing the drums is a troll?

Even if your point was not ridiculous, that STILL wouldn't justify being a blatant asshole to people you don't know.

  • @DickJohnson3434 Your avatar is 'DickJohnson3434'. You couldn't make it more obvious that you were a troll and specifically out to be a dick to others.

I see right through you because you are empty.

I play drums because drums is where mathematics came from. In order for early humans to keep a regular beat, they had to learn how to count. Drums are at the core of what it is to be human and I seek to improve humanity through improving our drums. Science aims to improve our conditions.....

  • @crazy8sdrums

You're responding as if I was criticizing you for posting drum videos, lol.

Yeah, I heard you, I'm empty and you are full.

    Anything else?

  • @DickJohnson3434 ...so the science field that I work in focuses on the very central aspect of humanity which gives meaning to energy and mass and movement. I have an understanding of time that very few other scientists could ever hope to have, plus I have studied all that they have studied too.

Because I don't deny a higher intelligence, I am not shut out from it. You are.

..and I am not being an asshole to you. You just don't like getting beat at your own game.

  • @crazy8sdrums

Declaring superiority and non physical enlightenment is certainly not my game.

I asked you for your best example of aliens and you gave me ancient ruins.

Everything else you've uttered is the epitome of the youtube troll.

Have a nice day enlightened one.

  • @DickJohnson3434 Have a good day Dick Johnson!

  • @DickJohnson3434 The evidence that convinced me I get to see almost every day and night. Once you break through the barrier of ignorance, you'll be privy to incredible knowledge.

Science doesn't believe in the 3rd eye 'chakra' so scientists don't get to use theirs. If you are nothing but a thinking meat sack, then you are nothing but a meat sack because meat sacks can't think. Thought extends outside the physical realm.

  • @crazy8sdrums No I'm arguing your a self aggrandizing liar. Even if you did see something you're a fallible human. Eyewitness testimony doesn't mean shit in science. Science is not about opening the mind its about explaining things. You explain things by repeatable experiments, making verifiable predictions and forming theories that explain the data. You have no concept of what science really as evidenced by every incorrect definition you've given in all your posts.

  • Fucking Science Stand-up. 0.0

  • if there was such a thing as a scientific comedian, Tyson would be it. I love this man. lol

  • i love this man

  • Inept Aliens: Those who managed to build a spaceship capable of the intergalactic trip, but forgot to put an OFF switch for the lights! They are always caught and sighted by those damn lights!

Or maybe they put those to "keep their eyes on the road", you know?.... "Asteroid, asteroid!.. Whooooaa, that was close!"

  • @fatmimethintenor I think he's assuming, probably correctly, that if aliens have developed the technology to travel perhaps 10s or 100s of light years to get to us, they're hardly likely to need to rely on the atmosphere to slow down their gravitational descent to the surface, as we currently do. When you see those big shuttle wings and flaps while in orbit, it's hard to imagine it not looking comical to minds more advanced in space travel than us.

  • This guy is kinda repetative. says the same thing in other videos

  • @MrSpecdelta

Hes is a astrophysicist, but also plays at shows, more or less in a comediant way.

Shows tend to be repetitive. Its nothing weird about it. Every actor does.

  • Well if UFO's land, just have a religious greeting party, the aliens will either hate us so much they'll leave. Or they'll realise that the world is doomed anyway.

  • No matter what any of the "UFO defenders" say, there's really no proof. End of story.

  • Obama/Tyson 2012

    Tyson/ Schumer 2016

  • 80 million people around have seen UFO's -different races, nations, countries--everybody is not lying and everybody is not stupid.. Top government officials have come forward and announced military records of encounters with UFO's. i dont know what they are but everybody is not stupid..Neil deGrasse is a smug & arrogant. and possibly an educated fool

  • @Revmostrite Yeah, they all saw an unidentified flying object. That doesn't mean anything other than that they saw something that they did not understand. You are an idiot.

  • @ChristX1337 how is he an idiot? this degrasse guy is smug, he is arrogant, and he is a fool. contrary to my name, i am not a conspiracy theorist and i don't watch the skies at night hoping to see a ufo. degrasse makes some good points, but dismissing every encounter through history as made up or 'arguments from ignorance' is laughable.

  • @07foxmulder To bad none of those "encounters" were conclusive. We still do not have any evidence of these "encounters" other than here say. Plus why would you think they would go to small towns, why not the national capital? They are out there some where, I think, they just haven't been here yet.

  • Well, not that I believe in aliens visiting the earth or anything -- but the space shuttle travels in space -- and it uses a runway when it returns to earth. It's true that the big old mother ship came down in Close Encounters, but that's not to say that the aliens couldn't have landed using some sort of landing craft that passed through the atmosphere using lift.

It just wouldn't have been as cool.

  • Ignorance as usual from debunkers. check your facts,

  • @glendonj

Most people who have seen UFOs would scratch their heads if they realized the likely truth that what they saw was an optical illusion, or a a man-made object... as is so often the case.

  • Most people that have seen Ufo's don't really care what others think, or feel the NEED to provide evidence to anybody. It's a major leap of believability until you see one yourself, but when the day comes you end up scratching your head as to why anybody would go off on a rant like this. I respect NDT, but this is merely stand up comedy. Next...

  • ok..he brought up roswell indirectly...called the aliens stupid for crashing...except he did not mention that there was a big lightning storm happening at the time so that could have brought a craft down..and radar sees everything comming and the military sees that...so if anything crashes..and the militery is always there first..go figure..do you think the military is going to go running to Neil Degrasse to tell him? they want him in the dark like everybody else..he's part of the system..

  • in just one year, over 35,000 Americans purchased Alien Abduction Insurance......and more do each and every year........and these are the people who elect a president in charge of the big red button of death.......{palm slaps face} =|

  • That was... nothing new and annoying .

  • so......what the comments are saying is that all scientist should be stuffy old white guys, who use polysyllabic words and bore people AWAY from astrophysics?..... This guy has a sense of humor and makes it bearable to listen about this stuff, so that makes him less legit? wow.

  • kind of like how they invent dark matter out of ignorance.. or assuming life isnt unique to earth, though they have no evidence

  • This guy can suck my dick.

  • This is a man that believes time travel is possible! BACKWARDS TIME TRAVEL.

And yet he finds a way to denegrate others- classical illustration of dogmatic hypocracy!

It's ok for me to believe anything i want, but you're a fool for believing what you want!

    Elitism at it's finest!

  • @commonsensrules He is an astro-physicist with a better understanding of space-time then 99.99% of people on earth, he believes time travel possible because physics says it is, its possible in theory but the technology required to manipulate the forces in the universe to make it happen is improbable, ie what material would you use to create the vehicle to travel through a blackhole.

  • @xdir

I would love to see the theory that says reverse time-travel is theoretically possible? I am aware of Einstiens musings on forward time-travel, but never heard of any peer reviewed theoryconcerning reverse time-travel.

Is it possible? Who knows, thats not the point- the point is that Tyson exhibits classic elitest attitude towards subjects he disagrees with!

Regardless of his education, he is in no position to claim authority on the subject of Ufology!

  • @commonsensrules Elitism is a good thing, you and I can join the elites by investing in the same education once you have attained your PHD in Astro-Physics you will be able to beat back Tyson's "hypocracy", unfortunately once you have the knowledge of physics, calculus & location of heavenly bodies you will be agreeing a lot more with him.

Ufology is BS, just because you don't know what an object is you cannot label it an Alien Craft, its what religion does, when man cannot explain = God did it.

  • @commonsensrules because Ufology is a 'real' subject AMIRITE

  • Funny stuff! I love rational thought, and the scientific method. ★★★★★

    Katalyzt

  • thumbs up if bill maher brought you here

  • @LOOK: how do u know,lol

  • wow illuminati are some clever assholes.. a simple light in the sky.. seriously?? and look at what they work up..

  • He's the first scientist with a huge cock

  • @LOOKALANKA6 so you had it in your mouth?

  • @0zzy07

No, i got the measurements from your mongoloid mother.

  • @LOOKALANKA6 you are a funny mother fucker

  • @LOOKALANKA6 i dont think so faggot

  • producers should really consult with mr.tyson before making a sci-fi movie.

  • awesome vest .

  • & here I was thinking Neil was uh REAL scientist. I was fooled 4 many years!!!! He's just uh narrow minded prick.

  • @Akillesefourtwenty Oh really? You are bs'ing.

  • That background should be a brick wall.

  • This has to be the most close minded attitude towards a documented phenomena by a scientist I've ever witnessed. In fact, I don't see how he calls himself a scientist and maintains such a dismissive mind-set. It's almost like he's doing a stand-up routine at the expense of thousands of witnesses and hundreds of videos and pictures. What a shame.

  • @Khorzho He's being dismissive of absurd eye witness accounts of these encounters, or photoshopped pictures. Like he said, if you brought him viable evidence, like anything off a shelf of a spaceship, he would give you his full attention.

  • Comment removed

  • @Khorzho: As a scientist, I am equally dismissive of any claimed phenomenon that lacks real physical evidence or can be accessed by experimentation and observation. I need either a physical object I can take to the lab, or a set of coordinates where I can point my telescope. Anything to the effect of "trust me, I saw it", is really unscientific.

  • @dcarrera01 So tell me. How many quarks have you observed in your career? Or what about the fusion reaction in the core of a star... how exactly did that appear when you observed it in person? Or maybe you've seen replication of a chromosome in action? "Science" is all about inference of observations to create hypothesis. Just because YOU don't observe something directly, doesn't mean it can't possibly be. UFOs are a documented OBSERVED phenomena. Neil is telling us to ignore observations

  • @Khorzho: There are various experiments that support the quark theory. You can use particle accelerators to smash protons together and observe that the scatter pattern is more consistent with their mass being divided into three lumps rather one. Quark theory also explains nuclear fusion and the behavior of muons.

There are *reproducible* experiments. Nobody says "trust me, quarks exist, I saw one, here is a photo". There are experiments anyone can do, and have been done by many scientists.

  • @Khorzho: To continue my last post: Strictly speaking, neither Neil nor I have said that alien spacecraft could not possibly be here. What I said was that there is no real physical evidence and that I need something more substantial like a physical object I can take to the lab or coordinates where I can point my telescope. These would be reproducible experiments. Neil has similarly said that the evidence so far does not justify the conclusion that alien spacecraft have visited us.

  • Listen I DID WRITE THE VERSES WORD FOR WORD!!!! read past post and you will see the bible verses word for word from the Bible. Don't be ignorant! If you don't believe the Bible that is your disbelief not mine! Open your eyes and heart and you will understand the truth of the Bible, God's Holy Word! Now quit telling me to do what I have already done! If you do not understand the bible verses I wrote go to a good Bible teaching church where you can learn the Bible.

  • Neil is on FIYAH

  • Actually U does not stand for anything for most "UFO believers", for them UFO = Flying saucer or alien beings that operate them. UFO does not mean unknown flying object (for believers at least) anymore. The meaning sort of changed and now many doesn't even think about the original definition, when they say UFO. Its as if UFO is always meant "Alien spacecraft or alien beings from another planet/dimensional plane", instead of "Unidentified flying object." Strange as it is, but thats how it is.

  • inept aliens, inept producers! hahaha!

  • From the dawn of recorded history thousands of years ago up until the later part of the 19th century there was no electricity, no cars, no planes, no computers ect ect. Then, suddenly in a span of 100 years, we arrive at where we stand now? I'd like to hear Dr. Tyson explain what he thinks caused such an unprecedented and lighting fast evoloution on this planet. There's no way I believe it all happened from within our own planet. If it did, why'd we get so smart so fast and so suddenly????

  • @kitrick42 There are no missing gaps. I think it undermines the hard work of humanity when you reduce it to alien intervention. Pick one example you stated and study each step it if you wish, or don't. But there is no finer example of the 'argument from ignorance' than your comment. As in 'I don't know this happens so it must be X'. Plenty of people do know how it happened so either research it or be happy not knowing and take a break.

  • @kitrick42 We were almost equally smart long before. The jump from cartwheels to cars with microchips is not that big. To an alien species that is 1 million years more advanced than us, our "technology" is not even technology in the sense that they understand what technology is. To them our spaceships wouldn't be no more advanced than our steam engines 150 years ago. We are not as advanced as you think.

  • @byteresistor You sure know alot about them and how they think. I dont think we're very advanced if your going compare us to advanced beings. But Im not taking that perspective. The advancements between 1900-2000 are astounding compared to any other 100 year period. Im comparing ourselves to ourselves. If we want we can keep expanding our perspective again and again and again, which will ultimately defeat every scientific law and or opinion until its realized that its all pointless fodder.
