I had a tofu dog stand right next to the portapotties,and it worked out great.I scooped out hippie excrement from the shitters,and formed 'em into"hotdogs".I made a fucking killing,selling footlongs for $3.00 a peice.Though I could'nt drink enough water to keep up with "lemonade sales",I was able to scoop out lots of brown water for "iced tea". I recomended the "corndogs" with special sauce,unless of course you had peanut allergies.

From my experience old hippies are pretty nice but hippies from this era or the new young hippies are just douchebags with big egos and strong opinions for topics they are not educated on.
i see what you're saying, but at the same time, a lot of people--in fact a whole lot of people who are nothing like hippies at all--are just like that. and it gets worse, too. but i won't get into that here.
The main issue seems to be if you are happy, smiling, laughing, or not. If not, they can get aggressive about what you need to do to change - like you are not able to figure this out yourself, it seems to be an attempt to dominate and feel superior to 'unhappy' people. Effort is also bad - easy is good. I re-formed a friendship I had with one of these guys but after a while I realised he was really only interested in advising me, the friendship had no other content for him.
I used to be a hippie, then I wen to uni (arts degree), worked, met different people. I still know a few people who went up the bush and never came back. Some of them have little farms or businesses now. They are nice people but a bit TOO nice and they still hang around in groups, smoke pot, say stuff like "all good things to you brother". They mostly also have no education beyond high school (despite being middle class) which makes conversation a bit limited.
O.K., first off you don't take a lawn chair to a freakin' love-in, you sit on your ass with a blanket! Secondly, what's wrong with people getting together and grooving? At least they're sharing time with one another, stereotypical as it may look. My neighbors won't even look in the other's direction in fear they may have to say "hi." We need to love one another and groove together, help each other out. If it's a commandment in the Bible for pete's sake, what's wrong with it?

The 60s hippies were rejecting the dominating order of their government who was ethically corrupt and exploiting smaller nations and even their own people for the good of their own greed and power. Psychedelic drugs, the hippies' drug of choice, are not BAD, but they do break down a money/power/consumer-oriented mindset. Which of course is not good for those who want people to consume and spend money on useless products. In this, and many other ways, hippies advocated immensely important issues.

People who take lsd are convinced that their delusions were real and not caused by chemicals in the drugs.
People who take LSD are fully aware of the causal illusions as derivative from the drug. Few people attribute reality to their illusions, and if they do/did, in which case I agree that they are delusional, but then they are delusional in and of themselves, and not because of the drug. I was at this concert! I had a tofu dog stand right next to the portapotties,and it worked out great.I scooped out hippie excrement from the shitters,and formed 'em into"hotdogs".I made a fucking killing,selling footlongs for $3.00 a peice.Though I could'nt drink enough water to keep up with "lemonade sales",I was able to scoop out lots of brown water for "iced tea". I recomended the "corndogs" with special sauce,unless of course you had peanut allergies.

The main issue seems to be if you are happy, smiling, laughing, or not. If not, they can get aggressive about what you need to do to change - like you are not able to figure this out yourself, it seems to be an attempt to dominate and feel superior to 'unhappy' people. Effort is also bad - easy is good. I re-formed a friendship I had with one of these guys but after a while I realised he was really only interested in advising me, the friendship had no other content for him.

I used to be a hippie, then I wen to uni (arts degree), worked, met different people. I still know a few people who went up the bush and never came back. Some of them have little farms or businesses now. They are nice people but a bit TOO nice and they still hang around in groups, smoke pot, say stuff like "all good things to you brother". They mostly also have no education beyond high school (despite being middle class) which makes conversation a bit limited.

The 60s hippies were rejecting the dominating order of their government who was ethically corrupt and exploiting smaller nations and even their own people for the good of their own greed and power. Psychedelic drugs, the hippies' drug of choice, are not BAD, but they do break down a money/power/consumer-oriented mindset. Which of course is not good for those who want people to consume and spend money on useless products. In this, and many other ways, hippies advocated immensely important issues.

Few people attribute reality to their illusions, and if they do/did, in which case I agree that they are delusional, but then they are delusional in and of themselves, and not because of the drug.
