Dick Grayson was the first Robin, he grew up and became Nightwing. So ya, it's the same person just with a different name and costume.

I know that in comics us Nightwing fans have been promised a very good year for him. Dan Didio, the VP of DC Comics, said that Nightwing will play a bigger role in the DC Universe. So far, he's been good on his word and Nightwing is getting some more respect. And as long as he's a major character in the comics, there's a lot of hope for him in other media.

That's really all there is. I used quite a bit from Animal Act, too. In Teen Titans he shows up in one episode but it's pretty minor. I was disappointed by how little screen time he got in The Batman, but it's better than nothing.

That's one way to put it. I think if there had been another season of BTAS he would have been featured more heavily but he debuted in the last season. He's very popular but for some reason they barely scratched the surface of his potential. Don't even get me started on Batman Beyond!

There's going to be a new series called Batman: Brave and the Bold coming out on Cartoon Network coming out this fall. It pairs up Batman with a bunch of different heroes. It's targeted towards a younger audience and the artwork reflects that. I'll be checking it out, regardless.

There are multiple explanations in the comics. But in TAS, Dick quit being Robin because he didn't like Batman's growing violence and that Batman knew Barbara was Batgirl but didn't tell him. Dick also implies to Tim that his anger towards Bruce had been building for awhile before he quit.

TNBA started out with Bats recruiting Tim as the new Robin and Dick made a small cameo (out of costume) saying, "you can't be a boy wonder forever" Later in the season, Dick appears as NW. In "Old Wounds", we were shown why he left. Until that ep, there was no explanation. We never really get to see them reconscile, either. Things may be tense at times afterwards, but they get along for the most part.
