This is not only a trap but a golden goose for Police, NCW, WCD, Govt., legal fraternity and what not. What Yogesh Mehta is terming a compromise is basically a legal extortion at the gun point. Under what law a criminal can just get freed by paying money. Even under 498a also the compromise is illegal but judiciary and NCW force boy to cough up money to grow the business of marriage bigger and bigger. After all every body benefits from this business except wife and husband. Yes, wife too loose.
This yogesh mehta was the one who got fined under RTI act for not replying about the irregularities inside NCW, etc.,. He is the one who is forgetting that there is less chance of settling out the court if there is genuine abuse and harassment!, settlement comes about only since the case is filed with a view to extort and nothign else!.
@gokulpr - you are absolutely right.. In a genuine harassment case when the woman is subject to cruelty they will not be happy with some money, they will definitly fight for JUSTICE and get the culprits maximum punishment.
