a stunningly beautiful performance in every way, played by any equally stunningly-beautiful young woman . . . .whoever filmed this and edited it did a tremendously good job . . . .an excellent video job that , for once, matches the audio beauty. THanks to whomever treated us to this performance.
@randomuserguy Ingrid was in Austin,Texas on April10th. . .I dont know if this means she is on "tour," but if she is, you gotta go see her. You will never see anyone play a piano so FAST in your life. . .she was truly stunning ! ! !
Ingrid Filter is one of the most amazing pianists to arrive in years! Her lyrical and passionate interpretations of Chopin's works are spellbinding. I have found a new favorite pianist, and being a jazz pianist, I have a special appreciation for her artistry.
she's exerting to much effort... look at her arms at the start of the music... i just dont wanna look at her playing to justify my mind that she's not exerting too much effort...
Beautifully expressive playing allied to an obviously intelligent mind. Will jump at the chance of hearing her in recital whenever the opportunity arises.
Looking at the comments it's funny the way people still have youtube style slagging matches even on a video of Chopin! I guess this medium is corrupting us all...
Her touch makes for wonderfully expressive music. It's like making love - the quality of the touch makes all the difference. Only Piotr Anderszewski's in the same league.
how can u little sophomores debate anything u havent been able to learn wht the issues are and who r your teachers ? no you havent quite won out there either. let the electro waves aleave your poor brains. U morons dont even recognoze her amazing sense of color and her well trained wrists. Her instincts too r fine. Enough.
Ingrid is one of the best Chopin interpreters I have ever listened to. Her understaning of his works is amazing, as well as her abilities to play with such profound feelings.
I had the chance to chit chat with her after a few concerts. She is also a lovely woman.

Hey maxi937, Yundi Li (a great chinese pianist) defeated your Ingrid Fliter during the 14th International CHOPIN Competion. Take note : CHOPIN competition. He was only 18 years old then, while she was 26 or 27 years old.
What is your basis in saying "[chinese] are heartless? Do you have problem on Chinese people?
Based on her playing in this video clip vs. a live Yundi Li performance this spring I'd say there *might* just be a wee bit of merit to whatever heartless Maxi937 wrote though.
Make no mistake I am (was) a big fan of Li and I have all his CDs and DVDs. That recent live performance IMO was indeed "heartless" though.
in that movie i prefer the second piece in the interlude at the forlorn house when the pianist plays the private recital for the german captain song is "ballade 1 in g minor by frederich chopin"

Fliter is, for me, the best Chopin interpreter alive. Not even her sensei Argerich can beat the heart of this woman when she plays like this. She spills sensitivity in her performance like no other.
She is an exceptionally talented pianist. She won the highly regarded Gilmore Award a few years ago. Wish we could see her more in the US. I saw her at the Miami Intl Piano Festival last year and she was outstanding.
During an arguement with a friend recently, I took the position that women are much better interpreters of Chopin than men. She pointed out the number of Chopin Competition that are women (3, counting co-winners in 1949), and I pointed her to Ingrid, Valentina Igostina and Martha Augerich...so there, Betts!!!
why dont you upload your version of this piece so we can all see to whom she has been compared to . you seem to be not very well informed about the process of selection of the gilmore award.
"Ms. Fliter, a 33-year-old Argentine musician based in Milan, Italy, remains little known to American audiences. She has performed primarily in Europe and the Far East! Her Beethoven and Chopin performances show an exacting technique & keen intelligence, animated by an impetuous temperament reminiscent of Ms. Fliter's Argentine forerunner, Martha Argerich.
