  • @blklightning330

Why would you even take the time to write such a horrible, inane comment.

  • @ItsRyanStudios maybe i'm normal and you're the horrible one for judging me like that.

  • Dies Irae (Day of Wrath) is a 13th century Latin hymn wich is best known from its use in the Roman Catholic Requiem Mass. Lacrimosa is a part of the Dies Irae sequence in the Requiem mass. Text: Lacrimosa dies illa Qua resurget ex favilla Judicandus homo reus. Huic ergo parce, Deus: Pie Jesu Domine, Dona eis requiem. Amen. Translation: Mournful that day. When from the ashes shall rise a guilty man to be judged. Lord, have mercy on him. Gentle Lord Jesus, grant them eternal rest. Amen. Wikipedia
  • @GinaDavisx3 hey, I just realized that half of that info is right there in the description of the video. damn some ppl are lazy to read or google.

  • @erghtrfgh yes thanks I've already noticed that. i am looking for an actual TRANSLATION, not for background info -.-

  • @GinaDavisx3

    Mournful that day,

When from the ashes shall rise

    Guilty man to be judged.

    Lord, have mercy on him.

    Gentle Lord Jesus,

    grant them eternal rest. Amen.

  • listening to this masterpiece makes me feel that we are so insignificant on this earth

  • this is the most powerful song I've heard in a while

  • Such a masterpiece!

  • Does anyone have the piano version that plays late in the movie? It's when the brothers are exploring in a ruined/burned house

  • The best modern composers seem to be Polish. Does anyone know why this should be? It's like Poland is in its golden age of classical composition.

  • Anyone knows who's the performer?

  • @Rebeca95ify Elizabeth Towarnicka

  • @tatry13 Thanks!

  • @Rebeca95ify Polish Opera singer Elżbieta Towarnicka

  • @kuruptsoul Really. Proved this yourself, did you?

  • @Wolfsrain90 Elżbieta Towarnicka is singing this.

  • Divine!!!

  • Dude i could swear these red clouds are moving

  • Me transporta al delirio estetico, a saborear los sonidos con la piel.

  • Very moving, even though I do not know the language it was sung in, the intensity in it demands further investigation into the beautiful picture displayed... we have no idea how good God really is...

  • @heelymom Latin.

  • Lacrimosa dies illa, Qua resurget ex favilla Judicandus homo reus. Huic ergo parce, Deus : Pie Jesu Domine, Dona eis requiem. Ah! that day of tears and mourning! From the dust of earth returning, Man for judgement must prepare him: Spare, O God, in mercy spare him! Lord, all pitying, Jesu blest, Grant them Thine eternal rest.
  • @heelymom god does not exist

  • Yes, 5 people are realy deaf!

  • MY GOD, IT'S FULL OF STARS!

  • God is ugly next to this song

  • @juanjillocr Stupidest thing a human can ever say...

  • @loayalaa what was that?

  • @loayalaa God's ugly next to my cock.

  • @loayalaa Yeah, you are right. Asuming a God exist is very stupid. That's what you meant right?!

  • Hermoso!/Beautiful, charming!

  • are 5 people deaf?

  • Απαράμιλλο...

  • Tree of life.... Amazing

  • This is awesome. and thats coming from someone that loves rap music ;-)

  • @fvn3489 Dude, seriously, why would you say ignorant shit like that? Music is the most subjective thing ever. And saying that you like rap and there fore wouldn't like this, is just retarded.

  • @Muggizz No You got me misunderstood yo. I'm saying I LOVE THIS TUNE and other classical hits, I brought in the rap topic because many people that listen to rap are die hard on rap and don't listen to soul moving music such as Lacrimosa. But im saying otherwise, even though im a rap lover, I like listening to classic tunes such as this, wasn't being sarcastic at all.

Next time you should really read the comment thoroughly before gettin all uptight for real.

  • @fvn3489 Sorry bro, I can get like that on the internet. Thing is I love rap myself, I think it's a good vocal instrument and awesome way to write lyrics, and I thought you were drawing a stereotype. I should really think before I say, so I don't say what I think.

  • @Muggizz It's kl dw about it (Y)

  • @fvn3489 well arent you quite the multicultural hipster! no offense towards you personally. these types of comments just come off as... tooting your own horn so to speak. its like instead of complimenting the art you are complimenting your ability to pick out art

  • @kuruptsoul I sed this tune was awesome. So u tell me how that is not complimenting the art itself? U are one fussy prick. U scanned several pages back just to reply that to me? Something I said 3 weeks ago? I SED I LIKE THE SONG MAN wat is ur beef? Its people like you that jus NEED to say something and PICK someone out in particular to satisfy your life? SHUT THE FUCK UP, ENJOY THE SONG AND GET OVER URSELF MAN :S I SED I LIKE THE SONG IS THAT A CRIME!!!!!

  • @fvn3489 i think this person is referring to the "im 14 and love rap rock techno and classical so arent i special?" type of comments littering youtube. they really are annoying but its whatever you know? just dont feed them with an angry response?

  • That image is a snapshot of the center of Milky Way

  • breathtaking, luv this..also fan off the works by Mr Terrence Malik

  • this piece makes me want to go land a spaceship on another planet...

  • Really epic and wonderfull

  • Lacrimosa dies illa, Qua resurget ex favilla Judicandus homo reus. Huic ergo parce, Deus : Pie Jesu Domine, Dona eis requiem. Lacrimosa, Lacrimosa..... Ah! that day of tears and mourning! From the dust of earth returning, Man for judgement must prepare him: Spare, O God, in mercy spare him! Lord, all pitying, Jesu blest, Grant them Thine eternal rest. Crying (Tears), Crying (Tears)....

  • @bbrraabbiitt Nope, I didn´t just figure it out... I went through google and found this page: music.preisner.com/track/lacrimosa there´s latin lyrics and english translation also :)

  • Comment removed

  • who else couldn't rest until they found out the title of this song from THE TREE OF LIFE???

  • @EpicHannah13 meeee meeee meeee:)))

  • @EpicHannah13 I shazam'd it after the first minute. It's EPIC :-)

  • "Lacrimosa", a part of "Requiem For My Friend" composed by Zbigniew Preisner to his friend Krzysztof Kieslowski

  • @jerryleduc Fantastic!

    LACRIMOSA

  • One of the most powerful pieces of music I have ever heard. I was outside staring at the moon when I listened to it, almost shat myself when I heard it. Thank you!

  • On ne peut qu'être envoûté, attristé, c'est une perfection.

  • Puts me in a state of awe every time I hear this.

  • When the universe was creating, it was playing this music!

  • This can make grown men cry!!

  • We still have the skills to create and advance in such beautiful and story telling music, its just that we have some how forgotten and you don't earn as much money on it as RNB.

  • It sounds like "Like a prayer" from Mad'House !!! :D

  • The scene of creation, with this song is one of the most beautiful scene of all time. I've almost cried. This is a fucking great and beautiful movie.Ican't describe. Mallick is a genius, he could toucht all my emotions and feelings, in this search for the world' and life's understanding.

  • przepiękne....

  • This is probably the fifth time I've listened to this music today, and I saw "The Tree of Life" just last night. Call me obsessed, but I can't help it. This is so beautiful it just haunts me!

  • @poetwriter18 It caused goosepimples on my skin when I heard this breathtaking piece of music! And the film is a masterpiece as well!

  • veramente bello, l'organo da all'aria una potenza enorme. bravo preisner.

  • I cannot listen to this without crying.

  • Kieślowski died after a heart surgery operation, not in a car crash. Preisner composed this amazingly beautiful piece of music to his memory...

  • did preisner compose this piece? I know Berlioz has a movement titled Lacrymosa in his requiem. Malick used Berlioz's Requiem Agnus Dei in his film during the creation scene right before he uses this piece. Mozart also has a composition titled lacrimosa from his Requiem. Can someone please help me and let me know if Preisner composed this piece.

  • @chavezcarlos32 well, the lacrimosa is in every requiem mass. The sequenz has been standardized centuries ago.

  • @chavezcarlos32 Lacrimosa comes from the Latin for 'tears' or 'crying' and is the usual title for part of a requiem (a mass for the dead), or other lamenting pieces. So it makes sense that there are many pieces titled that same way. Hope this is helpful and not to pretentious!

  • @chavezcarlos32 lacrimosa is actually a term more than a title, like a certain, specified part of a usually much longer arrangement

  • @chavezcarlos32 every Requiem (berlioz, mozart, verdi etc ) uses the Lacrimosa part.

  • @chavezcarlos32 All requiems are the same, with the same composition, same lyrics, the difference between the Requiems of Verdi, Mozart, Preisner etc. is the music ;)

  • @chavezcarlos32 It's from his 1998 "Requiem for my friend"

  • It was an experiment!

  • Epiphany...

  • Amazing music...breathtaking! I can't believe that there's some still alive that can compose something so beutiful and magnificent!

  • @sgreprettymonkey Preisner is great. Also, check out Arvo Part.

  • @sgreprettymonkey Preisner composed Lacrimosa for his friend Kieslowski (a famous polish director) who tragically died in a car crash a couple of years ago.

  • @sgreprettymonkey This is Mozart's... you knew it, right?

  • @juanjillocr I know Mozart's Lacrimosa, but this is not it...or maybe I don't understand what you've said :)

  • @sgreprettymonkey Well, you said 'you can't believe there're people out there who can still compose pieces like this", what I'm saying is that it's a Mozart's different version, not Preinsner's completely. But I get your point, though.. this piece is plain beautiful, so much that it hurts

There's one song I thought was a very old classic piece, but no it was made like, idk, 12 years ago for a movie... I bet you've listened to it: watch?v=KN5AG14x8mQ

    :)

  • @juanjillocr Ok, I absolutely didn't catch it! ;)

I've listened to the piece you've suggested...Amazing! Very touching, and so sweet and delicate...thanks a lot! :D

  • @sgreprettymonkey glad you liked it ;)

  • "The Tree of Life" - Scene of creation... Truly beautiful!

  • @brighamONE I have to agree, i haven't seen anything that beautiful in a long time. Amazing
