  • @aekhoo That's just what my shrink says, too. :^D

  • How do you draw upside down? :'L, and wow.. you can draw!

i'd love to be able to draw like that! <3(:

  • @Lilkazxx Thank you for the compliment. Lilkazxx! The upside down thing is just a matter of concentration, and the drawing itself is practice. It helps that it's fun! :^)

  • The story is its a little monster that got kicked out of his home because it was dangerously stupid and he kept licking people and now he works a a clown with four of the ugliest kids you will ever see and and a wife that is a hippopautamus who tries to eat him but he loves her anyway. XD

  • @turtletickletime Hi there, turtletickletime. I use Faber-Castell PITT artist pens, Prismacolor Premier pens, Staedtler pigment liners, Tombow ABT pens, and Sharpies (fine point and wedge tip). THe ones you're looking for are probably the Tombows. Great pens!

  • I love this guy :D

  • @StefanGBucher Oh no , I've tried and have failed miserably lol The things that fit me are stick people(:

  • @Miinnniie Oh, try again! The ink blots make it really easy! (And not to plug my own product, but if you have access to an iPhone or iPad, try the Daily Monster app. Could be a good warm up! :^)

  • @StefanGBucher Yeah defiantly will try that! (:

Hopefully one day I'll be as legit as you.

  • Looks like 6 people are jealous or they don't know what talent/originality is. ^^

  • @kayyyNam You're very kind, kayyyNam. Thank you. :^) I still really think some people are afraid of hyped up Monster puppies.

  • @PercyJackson503 Thank you very much, Percy! I'm glad you like 'em! :^)

  • The only people who dislike these videos, are the people who know they can't draw.

  • @thelilrussiankid Hey, lil Russian Kid! It's either that or they have an aversion to green tongues. Or overexcited Monster puppies. :^D

  • Hi Stefan! I love your monsters! Very inspiring and the technique is just unique <3

Are you a graphic designer maybe? You've got great eyes for art!

  • @Silverbleedy Sorry to take so long to respond, Silverbleedy. It's been hectic here... with my graphic design work. :^) So, yes, that is my day job. I'm glad you like the way it finds its way into the Monsters. Thank you for the compliment!

  • That's cool man! :^)

  • @MultiOlli96 Thank you, sir! :^)

  • i was wonder how often do you accidently ruin a picture and have to start again? also how long do they take to make?

  • Hello bentley33333. By the time I see a Monster in the ink I tend to get it on paper pretty consistently. But there are definitely times when I don't see something, so I make a new blot. Once I start drawing the Monsters take anywhere from ten minutes to a half hour. :^)

  • I know I've already commented on a few of your videos but I see you've replied to a few. I thought, maybe, you could answer my questions.

Did you teach yourself to draw

    Is it a natural talent

    Is this your unique idea

What inks, paper and pens do you use

Did it take you a long time to get this good?

  • Hi there, jigglestumps. Let's see:

Did you teach yourself to draw? For the first 15 years or so. After high school I went to art school.

Is it a natural talent? Maybe some. But most of it is just drawing lots and lots for years and years.

Is this your unique idea? The ink? I doubt it. Drawing monsters? No. Filming myself drawing in timelapse? No. But the combination of the three and doing it upside down, and then animating the result... I feel good saying yes, that's my unique idea.

  • What inks, paper and pens do you use?

I use Faber-Castell PITT artist pens, Prismacolor Premier pens, Staedtler pigment liners, Tombow ABT pens, Sharpies (fine point and wedge tip), Prismacolor Premier markers, and Yasutomo Sumi ink on regular old uncoated bond paper.

Did it take you a long time to get this good?

Well, I've been doing the Monsters for three years, and No.10 was the first animation. But I've been drawing since I was maybe three years old. So 33 years. :^D

  • am I the only person who thinks this looked like a penis in the preview?

  • Oh... hm... I guess I can see that. Not a healthy specimen, though, or at least exceedingly hirsute. :^D

  • Wow man this stuff is great! I'm truly inspired. I think I'm gunna challenge myself to do a weekly drawing too.

  • That's very cool, WordIndTV! I hope you ave fun drawing! In the meantime, thank you for the compliment. I'm glad you like the Monsters. :^)

  • Holy juggernuts bro,

you should deff make some shirts of these,

this shit is so fucking trippy O:

    in a good way!

  • So. Fucking. Sick.

  • Thank you, AyNoobyNoobers. :^D

  • You should try uploading your stuff onto mojizu(dot)com. I'm sure your art would be appreciated there.

  • Thank you again, AyNoobyNoobers. I'm woefully behind on uploading the videos to other sites, but I'll put mojizu on the list. :^)

  • I'm impressed ...

You've shown loads of creativity and imagination doing these, congrats :)

  • Thank you for your kind words, wellsd2. I'm glad you like the Monsters. :^)

  • I like to do the same...just draw a random line and then make something of it.....never gets old :)

    BTW all your drawings rock!

  • Thank you very much, dunkje1. I appreciate it. Endless fun, right? :^)

  • dude.. look at :25 seconds, it could have totally been like an insect or someting

  • but it isnt is it so get over it and move on in your life

  • jeez man calm down

  • Hi YourRightHandMan. I think you're right. I see that, too. On some of the ink blots I wish I could do more than one thing, but I gotta commit. :^) And jimmyjamiejammy, thank you for coming to my defense -- I appreciate it -- but I think YRHM was just getting into the spirit of seeing things with us. :^)

  • Ya, and haha ya

  • Meh... ill stick to cartoon animation. >=D

  • Oh yeah? Send me a link. I'd love to see your stuff. I couldn't find anything on your channel page.

  • i just do it for school as a minor, im not trying to sell t-shirts...

    like you....

    =D

  • Well, good luck to you. I'm disappointed you won't share your work.

  • hahaha ahahahaha

  • hmm...

  • Hmm, TheBlitz1? :^)

  • The spray makes up like 98% of the drawing...

You just added in a smiley face to a random spot...

  • So true, so true, TheBlitz1. It's really not hard. And it's fun! You should do one, film and post it! I'd love to see what you'll do with the blots!

  • No man! Make some Monsters! You can download blots on my site in the Open Source Monster section.

  • Yay! This is the best monster yet.

wow, if you made little stuffed animals out of these guys I'd go broke....

  • Funny you should say, BobbyBlackSocks. Did you check my blog in the past 24 hours? :^)

  • It's not hard, WaaromikWear. Just blow on some ink, pick a place for an eye and build from there. It's fun! :^)

  • You're very, very kind, ace99bk. I'm glad you like the Monsters. :^)

  • i love your drawings and the effect of just the black with the slight colour of the shoes or tounges in your drawings it just an amazing talent

  • You're very kind, mcfan93. Thank you. Yeah... sometimes it's just more fun to do a little splash of bright color, isn't it? :^)

  • #79:

    Species: Frogopteryx

    Name: Bronzon

Story: Bronzon got way too excited. He had just won a million bucks, plus a year's supply of free fish (his fav food), PLUS a date with the attractive Monster #73, Jella!? (She's pretty among monsters.) Bronzon shook and screamed from the pure, NC-17 rated joy.

  • i like some of your other drawing and i was wondering do you practise or do you just draw what you can see out of the ink lines :P

  • Hello kittylady95. The monsters come directly and entirely out of the ink blot I lay down in the beginning. It's all about improvising and seeing what's on the paper. Whenever I go into the process trying to make a particular kind of monster it all falls apart. It has to happen in the moment for the thing to work.

  • I'm sure many people have already asked, but what tools are you using? So far, I recognize a sharpie :).

  • Hi youwah. I use Faber-Castell PITT artist pens, Staedtler pigment liners, Tombo ABT pens, Sharpies (fine point and wedge tip), and Yasutomo Sumi ink on regular old uncoated bond paper.

  • Mexico just scored a goal in a soccer game, and this guy's the announcer. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL!

  • HA! That's funny! I like that!

  • i dont get it

  • To be perfectly honest, I think I'm missing something, too. I think it's just about the excitement level with this monster. :^)

  • does he mean your monster is the announcer and says goallll cause if it is i get the joke. :]

  • I think that's the idea, yeah. :^) I just have trouble with sports metaphors. I mean... I draw monsters for a living. I don't know my punt from my base hit. Shuttlecock!

  • lol cool you answered back.i like your monster i wish i could draw like you

  • It's just a matter of practice, really. You can do it, too. Just doodle a lot. The rest will come.

  • Wahahaaha that made me laugh when i finally got it XD
