Ok, honestly I'm sure they knew what the grammar is supposed to be. But in music the message is more important than the "english" used, therefore "don't" has more of a stronger sense of unwanting than doesn't. It's just a stronger conjugated form of the verb.
I guess this song will suffice as one that entirely represents me. As my entire world has been abnormal, and I am living in a confused state. Constantly suppresed by those around me. Wanting me to conform. Threatened by my distinct nature. I can only say that in my reality, truth is what I seek; yet others want a false happiness to sustain their undeserving lives. Thus as I try to show other's a picture of a more real existence, my vulnerability is exposed; for you see I give too much.
