HRH Regina Fong was one of a kind and a part of my youth. You describe her act and it sounded appalling, see it and a work of genius and the way she worked with and took control of an audience was amazing.  She retains a place in my memories I'll never forget her.

I've never been much for drag , a man in a dress isn't all that funny after a couple of times, but Regina Fong was something beyond that. Same act every time, sure, but put together so well and bringing the audience in with all the steps and actions, it was a wonderful, simple night out, everybody laughing their heads off together and not caring what they looked like jumping up and down like Skippy or typing on a typewriter in the air!! A great memory of London.

It is at once sad AND sweet to miss the talent and pure theatricality of a real STAR. I often watched awestruck from the wings of Pride stages and venues while Regina tore it up, and her legacy of fun, frolics and bonhomie remains and regularly finds its way into my shows and, I'm certain, the shows of many other performers.

Your Imperial Highness, Sir Bundy, you remain with us in name, in nature, and in many beautiful memories. Sleep deeply and restfully as you reign eternally.

The Black Cap was my first introduction to the scene some years back now (I darn't count) ;) and I happened to go with friends on a Tuesday night. Well - I didn't know what had hit me when I saw rows upon rows of men shouting, singing and moving to Regina Fong's every command! I was stunned and amazed. Needless to say I went back week after week, and year after year. Reg, you are very sadly missed....

so many drag queens around but no one can compare to HRH REGINA

she was a great performer,and thankyou for bringing back some great memories just by listening to the music of helen shapiro,tell me what he saild,im sure it reminds so many as it does me of that mad woman with the red hair lol

Thank you Ronnie. I used to work in the Black Caps sister pub the 2 brewers, and watched Regina on many occasion.

I was having a conversation with a friend the other day and we were saying that we miss the drag queens like Regina. She will be very missed :-(

Thank you so much for the kind comments. I feel an immediate kinship with other people who experienced the truly original experience of seeing Regina Fong perform live. I have NEVER experienced anything similar to the pure joy and love that filled the room at the Black Cap every Tuesday night when Regina Fong was performing. My video doesn't even begin to convey the brilliance of Regina Fong but thank you for watching and thank you for your comments.
