Ok, here's what I don't understand: How do the new advancements in software/drivers/hardware enhance the clarity and sharpness of video that can't already be seen with current typical hardware/software configurations? I mean, how do these new drivers bring out more quality from older YouTube videos if the quality of those videos wasn't great to begin with? I don't understand how this is any different from just cranking up the sharpness and adjusting the colors the old fashioned way on your TV.

I think it was great that Chris was able to get the skinny on what's going down at AMD headquarters. I even think that it's cool he's sharing with everyone. @lockergnome - My commit wasn't about this video solely. I think I've heard you say you dislike video editing. If your tour to AMD would have been like two, one on tech and another on talking tech with AMD. I would not have made what could be seen as a negative commit.

Perhaps the word "infomercial" was a poor choice. I'm not great at expression. It seamed like every day a different video explaining how great AMD is. It felt infomercial like to me. I hope there no bad fillings, just my thoughts.

Although Pirillo is being an absolute advertising tool for AMD (losing credibility as a technical "journalist"), I must say that this video and technology is very interesting. They fail to mention that the Video Hardware Acceleration is for videos that are H.264 (HD format) which rarely any youtube producers ever use. This doesn't work in Mac and Linux.

Not only is this for AMD/ATI cards but for also Nvidia cards.

With HTML5 videos loading up instantly, Flash videos are becoming pushed out ever so slightly. Read more about it in the Release Notes from Adobe Labs.

I don't understand how AMD has anything to do with flash 10.1.. I mean yea they got it so it would work with the hardware acceleration.. but nvidia and intel GPUs will also work with it (well most anyways, I don't know about all), so I don't see what the big deal is.

I just downloaded the beta. I can see a small difference, but there isn't that much.

Using several activity monitoring programs, I can detect a decrease in CPU usage (19% for 5 videos open at once).

On a weaker computer, I can see a very significant difference (smoother, quicker, doesn't take as much resources)
