  • Who are the English voices of the characters?

  • My main gripe is that they're never going to change this battle system back to how it was in atelier iris 3 and mana khemia. I think the only thing Rorona and Totori have over those games is more english voice acting, which I love by the way since most of their other games almost have non-existing english va and that pissed me off having to switch to japanese va and then everything is 80% voiced.

  • @AgitoXFang it may happen. They might go back to those type of battle system. I personally perfer it this way, where alchemy is more emphanized than combat.

  • @Byuukai

I actually like having a combination of combat and alchemy. I never was a big fan of the alchemy games but I always thought the characters and storyline tended to be very interesting so I wanted to give this game a shot and I brought the last copy of the limited edition at gamestop. The characters seem pretty interesting in this game so I'm hoping it's better than the first one since I found Rorona kinda annoying in the first game and Totori seems better.

  • @Byuukai I could forgive the main series if the games I mentioned weren't so similar to it but with more freedom. The time limits in the spin offs weren't as strict and I didn't feel as if the game was somewhat forcing me to make certain items, like the items that were important such as high level bombs to spam, otherwise I'd risk dying in a dungeon and losing a chunk of days for it. Sometimes I like to screw around and make random items too because I like experimenting in these games.

  • why a black out around 2:47

  • Oh hello Cristina Vee. Cristina Vee voices Cecilia. :)

I'm the kind of person who like both solid english & japanese voice acting. They're both great.

  • @asskickton

I actually prefer the english voice acting because if I try to listen to Japanese voice-acting, it can give me headaches depending the voice-acting. I can listen to Japanese voices in songs and watching anime but when it comes to games; I feel if the company made the effort to do the english VAs, then I should listen to them since english is the only language I knew and they had to pick the english VAs for a reason.

  • moe shit

  • As much as I could see me liking this game mostly due to the setting, I see no excuse for not having fully animated cutscenes, via anime or CGI. It seems almost pointless and lazy to me for them to do it how they are...

  • @FJSpoof Google "Visual Novel"

  • @FJSpoof Do you realize how much dialogue is in this game? Having fully animated cut scenes would've upped the cost of this game 100 fold, to the point where it wouldn't be able to come out at all.

  • @FJSpoof

It's a game from a smaller studio, relying on graphic adventure games. If you're looking for high budget stuff then Squareenix is the next building over. I'm going to just stay here, where gameplay and atmosphere count more than hollow eye-candy.

  • @FJSpoof You do realize that GUST only has about 15 employees right?

  • @FJSpoof Some developers have to be realistic to how much their stuff will sell. Not every RPG can sell a ton like Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest. Their budget shows not only in the lack of CGIs but in other areas too.

Regardless, I was able to have a really good time while playing Atelier Rorona and I believe this one should be no different!

  • They did Peter's voice wrong... He looks a bit too old for that kind of voice. Unless his japanese voice was also high pitched.
