Also wouldn't it only be a mistake to believe that that side of the moon never saw light? I think that saying it's a mistake just to call it the dark side of the moon is presumptive. It's just a name, and whenever we can see it, it is the dark side of the moon so that makes it kind of true.

I think that they should send a shuttle to the moon so have it act Apollo by putting the LEM into the payload bay and use the RMS arms to place it into position and repair and take away satalites and hopefully save Hubble from burning up in the atmosphere and preserve it in the KSC Visitors Center Along with Atlantis.

If the Shuttle did go to the moon the only ways it could come back would be propulsive back to LEO or the use aerocapture to LEO and then reenter.

This first would take too much fuel and the second option would involve the TPS having to deal with two large heat pulses effectively two reentries without refurbishment.

Either way it would be easier to have a capsule or HL20 type vehicle.

Or just build an NTR ferry such as LANTR which can do all propulsive from LEO to the moon and back.

I think Nasa should concentrate on robotic probes and new space telescopes like the Kepler. Manned space flights are something that should be developed very slowly and safely through the centuries.

It would be great for Congress to leave NASA to develop the SLS and J2X. If they are left alone for a while they should be able to excel with their developments in these fields, and stumble on the solution to long-duration space flight. Long-term aim should be to get back to human flight; it inspires humanity!

NASA should budget an in house heavy launch rocket with well defined capabilities, and let private companies make competitive fixed price bids on their own design. Pick a winner, and move on.

Getting SLS launching more often would be much better than getting SLS launching bigger payloads.
