I had my first parathyroid surgery in CA in Feb 2010, where one tumor was removed but my calcium levels did not go down. I went to Dr. Norman's center for a second surgery in October 2010 where a 2nd tumor was removed. The first surgery took 2 and 1/2 hours, the second one took 12 minutes and went as simply as promised. I would advise anyone to go to Dr. Norman FIRST. And I can't even find the scar!

went to the train station, walked 3 blocks & returned with our sandwiches, came back

I had mine back in December 2010. I went into the hospital around 6AM and was out around 11AM, rested a bit at the hotel, then my wife and I went for a nice dinner at an Italian place. We were lucky enough to find Dr. Norman when my husband had parathyroid issues. The first surgical consult said that there were 4 bad parathyroids and that all had to be removed, and 1/2 of the smallest one inserted back in a procedure that would take over 6 hours and a large incision.
