didn't they make a Max Headroom version of Steve Urkel in one episode of Family Matters? you know, the one in which Laura had a nightmare about Steve building an atom bomb, and she accidentally sets it off?
"How-How-How-How-How-How many combinations might Theora have had to try to break the code in the computer generated cyber-space matrix in Bryce's studio? Or, to you ordinary people, his door lock code."
HA! Total hilarity! Imma try to make a parody of that sometime soon.

I think I remember this contest and I remember the show because it aired on channel 4. I do remember that when he came out he kind of freaked me out and I think he still does today.
oh my god. i remember this from when i was 4, on Channel 4 in the UK, and it scared me sh*tless! its his eyes that you can't see... or the stammer... he's evil i tells ya!
Does any body have a copy of the original 1984 TV-movie Channel 4 did? upload it please!! its amazing, its REALLY dark, cyber-punk, and robbie coltrane's in it!
I'm afraid not. However Matt Frewer has had many appearences on Television and in the Movies over the years, so perhaps you are confusing him with Bill Nye, who had an impressive run as a stand up comic.
I thought Max was hilarious,is it really 20 years ago he was on the box, bring him back,if i remember correctly he was called max after the first episode showed a van crashing into a Maximum Headroom height restriction sign. What happened to matt frewer who played him?
On the first day of 7th grade in Sept. 1986 I met a friend of mine for the first time. He was acting like Max Headroom thinking it was cool. He turned to me at our lockers and asked "Wha-Wha-Wha-What's your name?" To this day I'll reeact that and laugh and he gets embarrassed to no end. He'll never live that down.
I had this on my original VHS tape!

Max Headroom was a beta program in the Matrix, which explains the stuttering. After fixing a few bugs they later re-named him Agent Smith.

I haven't seen headroom in a long time.

Goddamn hes annoying? Why'd they choose to make him talk in like 7 different voices?
ShadowStrikker 5 years ago
He's supposed to be a wholly digital character with voice glitches. It's the same voice at different speeds.

Frewer's worked pretty much constantly since Headroom, most recently in the Tv show "Intelligence" for which he did 12 episodes.

I think Max needs to be reborn. How about a major motion picture?

I always think there's something Crispin Glover-esque about Max Headroom. At least, the way he looks.
