  • Was Bc1 a novelty?

  • @Nickybisme Bc1 avoids the bishop exchange for the knight and defends the b pawn.

  • Why couldn't the rook be taken on f8 at 4:21? I mean I know she was already winning, but if this were a slow match I would think that would have been the best move.

  • @dmed312 sometimes it is better to maintain the pressure than to grab material

  • that was a sharp line you played there.

  • Great job against a tough opponent! It's a pleasure to watch. Here is the PGN again:

    1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 d6 3. d4 cxd4 4. Nxd4 Nf6 5. Nc3 e6 6. g4 Nc6 7. g5 Nd7 8. Bg2 Be7 9. h4 a6 10. Be3 Nce5 11. Qe2 Qc7 12. f4 Nc4 13. Bc1 b5 14. b3 Na5 15. Bb2 Bb7 16. O-O-O b4 17. Na4 Nc5 18. • @mavaddat Thanks for posting the pgn.

  • SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER ALERT

In the final sequence, Black cannot castle and the f-pawn has dislodged to e6 and so Qh5+ is available. But AK holds off playing Qh5+ for many moves, improving her position. I would be too anxious to play the check and to play Rhe1 and so I wouldn't let the pressure build long enough.

Also, it seems the black queen was intentionally restricted and kept to the back rank, denying queenside castling.

  • Excellent game....ruthless as always.

  • I'm first because i'm your biggest fan :P

  • @dustball3010 ...sounds like a stalker. lol
