Rayman 2 [CANCELLED Prototype version in 2D - PSX & Saturn]

I still have an original copy of the VHS tape where that video was taken from. The VHS came together with a 1996 French console magazine called "Playmag". Unfortunately, the VHS is French SECAM, so I see it black&white on my PAL video. There are lots of quick E3 previews inside, most of them are prototypes and slightly different from the eventually released games.

This is odd but when you beat the game and after the credits have stopped rolling... you are presenteed with a hidden 2D platformer beta of rayman 2.

Rayman`s world was most suggesfully transformed from 2D in to the 3D,

Rayman is a platformer the way it should be done.

This looks so pretty. I am sadly the only rayman fan on the forums that likes the 1st one the best. Most people like the 2nd one. I wish they could have used this and the 3D version. Maybe they could have released this for saturn and ps1 version. And keep the 3D version for the big consoles. What a dissapoinment to see ubisoft do this. This idea was pure genius.

The 1st rayman game was epic! The sequels should have followed the main elements the first one innovated. This canceled 2d version I would have loved to play!

Much like Conker, Rayman seemed to undergo a change of direction. Rayman 1 had a fairy tale feel while it's sequels had more of a slapstick humor kind of approach I wonder what the original Rayman 2 was like before it became what it was today

Mmm, this is another HUGE one. I'm pretty sure you can play this beta by putting in a code after the credits on the final game or something like that. But I only have the DS version and PS2 version so I can't try. This one is very awkward too...

If you finish the PS1 version after getting at least 720 yellow lums, you get to play a level from the beta.

You have to wait all the way through the credits as well, so if you skipped them, you can't play it :-(
