If you ask me, they kicked it out because fighting the U-555 on a screen-scrolling level, while avoiding lasers and missiles, wouldn't have done as good as the remix did.
Odd thing... somebody else's realized both Crab and Whale have a fish OF THEIR PROPORTION fighting X before them?
Rockman's musics from X to X6 are really awesome, this track is great, indeed it is very better than bubble crab's remix. But i´ve got very deceptionated with the X7 and X8 soundtracks, it´s really awful that kind of nonsense electronic melodyless music =/
Yeah, it would have been nice for something, say like a National Geographic Special. I like the song but my suspicions on why they ultimately cut the song was that the people felt like it was not enough of a combative feel and that they probably had some nostalgia towards MMX2/RMX2 and then they saw that the level (the Duff McWhalen/Tidal Whale/whatever the heck COJ/CCL called him in Japan) reminded the people of the Bubble Crab level and so they chose the Bubble Crab remix over this song.
i have this on a sounktrack cd

Sounds very good... somewhat creepy though
It is the perfect match for it's title.

I found this music superior only due to having overlaid it while playing X5. The U-555 chase feels so much more engaging.
But those are my 2 cents.

AWESOME theme. But the bubble crab's remix is same good. The two are one of the bests soundtracks EVER.

I was surprised that this wasn't used. The reason Wikipedia said wasn't used for reasons unknown.

I think they did that because they wanted to make a remake of the firts Megaman X (1,2,3 & 4) and they puted a remix music theme. Well...

I agree. This tune is very original and fits the stage perfectly. The Bubble Crab remake is fine, but this would have been much better.
