Colonizing pluto is much more complex a situation whereas we have many proven technologies already implemented by companies and individuals around the world that would easily take the place of fossil fuels. I dont see the point you're trying to make, if any.
At least we invaded the nation with the second largest world oil reserves, which happens to be centrally located in the region which has 2/3s of the world's proven reserves.
