I like modern art very much, except for the pretentious, overpriced, senseless, stupid pieces I've seen plaguing many modern art books and exhibitions. A bloody piece of paper on the floor or a plant vase on top of a dog's head isn't art, its pretentious garbage and gives a bad rep to all the great stuff alongside it.

I'm an art student in my second year and I really appreciate this :) I quite often feel there is an 'us and them' thing going on with the 'normal art people' and the 'pretentious art people (twats)'. More often than not, I've found that people who are really pretentious are just making up for the fact that their work is crap - quite often they aren't even all that knowledgeable in the history of art either (although they pretend to be experts).
I don't at all hate modern art. The reason there isn't a DVD of the series is that the copyright fees on the music and the artworks are too expensive.
