  • ポカホンタスは美脚ー

  • I love that version! Japanese is so... strong. I think that's the word that describes it best.

  • i think her voice is a little bit to deep. and when i think of the german version i watched as a child the japanese singer sings with fewer passion ._.

  • Yay! 400th comment. X3 This is truly one of the best Disney songs for me,and it made even better. I just loved it when she said colors of the wind, its just so beautiful. :3

  • I really like this version. ^^

  • @SPS148669 nou

  • Actually, I take that back. It sounds like an amalgamation of a Final Fantasy and a Miyazaki film soundtrack.

  • It sounds like something Square would use for a Final Fantasy.

  • Beautiful

  • la amo <3

  • I always get chills when i hear this song whatever the language ^ ^

  • I'm half japanese half scottish and was born in austria and live in paris :D hahaha love it

  • @Mrsnaomchen Thats cool. :3

  • "Listen with your heart, you will understand"

trying it, it's not working. :I

    nevertheless, very beautiful rendition. :3

  • @ErnestoGPerez

To listen with your heart is to close your eyes and "feel" the music. Do not try to sync the image with the song.

Not everyone understands each other languages, but once you get to "feel" the emotion from the language/song, that is when you truly listen with your heart and understand the song.

Btw this is NOT easy to achieve. So it might not work first time around.

  • anata ga shiranai sekai

You're just not trying to know

    shirou to shitenai dake

    this world unknown to you

    mishiranu kokoro no tobira

I hope you open and look within

    akete nozoite hoshii no

    your unfamiliar heart

  • anata ga fumu kono daichi wo

    The land you step on...

    yoku mite gorannasai

    take a good look

iwa mo ki mo minna ikite

The rocks and trees and everyone is alive

kokoro mo namae mo aru wa

and have a spirit and a name

  • nanni mo shiranaitte iu kedo

You say I don't know anything

nanni mo mita koto naitte iu keredo

You say I haven't seen anything but

nani mo kamo ga wakaru to iu no

I guess the things I understand

shiranani koto bakari yo sou deshou

    is everything you don't know

  • the language fits so well to the natural spirit of the song *_* best version ever japanese rulez^-^

  • This japanese version is so much better than the original, as is the singer.

  • O_O se parece al tono de voz de susana zabaleta, la interprete de la canción mexicana !!!!! eso me ENCANTA!!!!

es como si ella la cantara pero en japones wiiii

  • Pocahontas is so badass, she can sing underwater!

  • @Honeydew7396 screw that, she's so badass she can grab a bear cub IN FRONT OF HIS MOTHER without getting shredded (Considering how overprotective female bears are with her cubs that's damn impressive)

  • @Honeydew7396 Nope not underwater is native dress wear

  • its awesome how beautiful pocahontas is... knowing that back in those days women didn't wear make up or shave their legs or anything so if they portrayed her realistically I don't think she'd appeal to many aesthetics.

  • This sounds really nice... the Japanese dubs always match voices well. She sounds good.

  • Japanese is one of my favorite languages for this song.

  • Anyone who's interested in seeing the Disney's in different languages I recommend seeing them in Brazilian Portuguese. I first say all the Disney's in it I love the jungle book in Portuguese it's great!

  • her voice sounds like amazing almost like the original xD

  • ive listened to the english version im sing along in english

  • many of the old fairytales was originally stories for adults in terms of scaryness and/or trauma)

  • Mp3 link? :3

  • This is great and I agree with crackerbarrel. I like the French version as well (way better than in English as far as meaning goes lol) ^^ I'll have to check out the Polish one :O

  • Did anyone know that the actual Pocahontas was 10 years old when she met John Smith... O_o

  • @InsaneMadnessHero Considering the "original" Little Mermaid died...Disney always distorts some facts to make a story less traumatic to children XD - I was shocked as a teenager to watch an accurate adaption of The Little Mermaid...I was "Wtf?! She dies?! WTF?!" XD

  • Im japanese but i have to say it's the worst version of this song. I love the polish one (to me its really the best, so strong voice) and germany ! : )

  • @TottemoKoko Hey, I'm from Poland and it's so nice to hear that u like polish version ;3 Take care ;3

  • The singer is Yuko Doi, one of my favorite Japanese musical actresses. She sounds great in Marie Antoinette, Sound of Music, as well as some of their original productions, like Mademoiselle Mozart.

  • It is believable because the japanese to some extent have this respect towards the natural world as the native americans do.

  • for an otaku girl and a disney fan... this cant be better x)

  • Its just so cool to know that everyone else watching this video has probably been just scrolling through the list and listening to old disney movie songs in different languages just like how i am doing. :D

  • @pru006 Of course, that's one of the best things to do on YouTube! :D

  • @pru006 lol

  • I'm so addicted to these disney songs in Japanese!!!

  • it's truly these TRADITIONAL disney movies dat pwn everything....except for Tangled. Tangled is a pwner in general. XD

  • ohh swedish is so awesome, but cause im learnin japaneese i understand all these words!

  • Dunno why but this song in japanese makes me cry.. the real meaning can be felt better in this version, eventhough i dont understand that much <3

  • @WolkeYume I agree, the lyrics in japanese show the real meaning of the song and i feel it too. Really beautiful and I love to sing it in japanese <3 Greetings from Finland :))

  • the latin american (mexican) version and this version are the best!!!

  • Don't know why, I do love the word "kaze"~

  • This is way better than the english version, I'd say. The english voice actor sounded too old.

  • this is the best ever!

  • when i watch this i wonder why pocahantas ended up with some other guy -_-.

  • reallt great voice for pocahontas.

  • STEKI!!!

  • why are japanese syncros ever so good? thei have so many good things but english syncros are ever so... bad

and its really crazy i look many times disney movies(but in german) and i look too anime but disney in japanese is really .. WOW

  • @PuriKyuaFan301 I don't agree with you that english syncros are bad. I think they sound really good. And japanese syncros sound good as well.

  • sugoi

  • Very pretty! <33

  • I don't like this version that much. The language didn't really fit and the vocalist was trying to cram in the words and they fit in very roughly, if at all. But technique-wise, she did a decent job. :\

  • @AuroraCelest japanese has like double the amount of sylables that english has but they can dub better then english can

  • I love disney and japanese so i really love this. it is so FUCKING AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Need lyrycs in japanese.~ <3

  • I think lots of the things Disney wants to teach us in those (older/classic) movies fit to the japanese way of thinking, and that's why it's even more epic *-*

  • @crackerbarrel1000 True...very true ^^!

  • ALL OF THE DISNEY SONGS SOUND GREAT IN ALL LANGUAGES >.< AHH!!!!~

  • @crackerbarrel1000 That's true, but polish version is better, i got shivers while listening to that ;] ( however I may not be impartial because i'm from Poland ^^ )

  • Pocahontas was always the prettier of all Disney Heroines to me. I mean, she's so different from all the other. Her face expressions were so rough yet so sweet!

    I loved her! ^^

    Japanese ver is so beautiful~

  • @SuperMay42 That's probably because Pocahontas = nature = indescribable beauty

  • is it a bad thing i know the whole song by heart?

  • @XxKikupockyloverxX no means your freakin epic

  • I just love the passion with which she says 'anata' :)

  • Thumbs up if you could understand what she was saying!

  • @Bokreeder Wakaranai xD

  • listen kids don't put john smith down as pocahontas' husband.....cuz disney got it wrong......its john rolfe....the brown hair dude in the second movie.

  • Who is the singing voice of pocahontas in japanese ?

  • this is freaking amazing :)

  • I wonder Japanese people realize how grossly inaccurate this movie is?

  • @xena1fan You'd be surprised at the number of Americans who don't realize how inaccurate this movie is.

  • @kirbyizlife

Can they really swallow this movie that easily?

  • @kirbyizlife I'm american and I'm aware. But it's just a kid's movie, so it's not that big a deal. People shouldn't try to pass it off as FACT, but it's just a kid's movie in the end, it doesn't really need to be accurate itself.

  • @kirbyizlife

Mulan's also terribly, terribly innacurate, too. But though I know that, it's one of my favourite Disney movies.

  • Jajajaja una aborigen hablando japones jajajajaja

  • 上手いなぁ~

  • OMG!!! HER VOICE IS EQUAL TO SUSANA ZABALETA'S VOICE!!! (POCAHONTA'S LATIN AMERICAN SINGER)

    GOD BLESSES YOU!!! SAIOP!!!

  • @AdryAsakura japanese voice actors are good you know ^^

  • <3 beautiful in all language, in particular in this language and in italian!

  • This version is really good!

  • OMG, Pocahontas sounds just like the english one XD

  • ... This is so weird o__o

  • I heard neko or cat.

  • @platypusesrock11 yamaneko

  • @KatyShaga thnx

  • @KatyShaga mountain cat

  • The three best versions of this song:

    - Hungarian

    - Japanese

    - All The Others

In fact no matter what's the language, the beauty is always there along with an important meaning.

  • This song is epic in any language, though I prefer Swedish :P

  • I Think that this song in japonese is the best. It is the realiest version.

Je pense que cette chanson en japonais est la meilleure. C'est la version la plus réaliste

  • disney in japanese just doesnt sound quite right

  • I like this version. But the best for me is the polish one.

  • why aren't there any versions in Cree, cherokee or in: Powhatan which was the language which Pocahontas and her people spoke accoording to history and to what they speak in the Disney movie?

that is the rightful and only thing Disney could do to portray some real facts, firstly i don't believe that Pocahontas sang, and second if she really sang, it wouldn't have been in english, unless she was possessed by some demon and spoke in tongues :S

  • @UniqueGeekFreak No one speaks those languages anymore (at least exclusively). Traditional tongues are dying and mostly only used for ceremonies and maybe some other uses. It's rare to find a young person fluent in their tribe's language....

  • @Robodl99 yeah i know, things do get forgotten unfortunately. i read your other comment about the songs being sung in their original languages, that you thought it was silly thinking like that. you know i have great respect for natives all around the world, i just thought we should appreciate them more and really give them more cred,u know most natives are being mistreated and have lower status, just becuz of their looks. just thought it would be cool to also hear the song in their language 2!

  • @UniqueGeekFreak You do have to give Disney some credit, I believe that The Lion King was the first childrens movie to ever be dubbed in Zulu. Which is pretty cool imo. Disney dubs in lot languages, I guess they couldn't find enough of a market for a native american version....

  • @Robodl99 i didn't know that, swahili it must've been,

of course yeah i give them cred for being very international. But after all it's supposed to be for kids and if they had a language ppl couldn't understand, they would have to use subtitles and the kids would not be able to read all the lines in time, so i guess that's why they don't use the original languages.

but hey they do have a very little piece in Powhatan, the song which is called "Listen with your heart" in Pocahontas :) so yay!

  • @Robodl99 Come to mexico please. There's a lot of tribe people here that even DON'T SPEAK SPANISH. These people are our pride, 'cause they preserve our origins.

  • i love the 2 of my fav thing were merged together i much more lovly in jap

  • Beautiful...gave me the goosebumps!

  • This is awesome I love Pocahontas & Japanese!!!

I'm sad 15 can't paint with all the colors of the land.

  • I just realized that they call otters, kawarisu, or river squirrels. I lol'd.

  • @nandayobitch lol that's funny

  • I love this version! Anyone know where I can find the lyrics?

  • THE REPLAY BUTTON FEELS ABUSED NOW :)

don't forget to like the video if you like it! there's only five hundred some odd likes on it... which seems low to me.

  • disney movie = awesome, japanese = awesome, japanese + disney movies = FUCKING EPIC

  • @KristenFeminist calm down

  • @KristenFeminist you are so funny! but that's true , the songs does sound great in japanese :)

  • @KristenFeminist damn i was going to say that but you beat me there! :D

  • One of my most favourite versions. This is just too gorgeous for words. :) I agree that the Polish version is very pretty.

  • I promise...being from virginia....it NEVER looked that amazing. Jamestown is a swamp. xD

    This is wonderful!

  • very nice I really like it :) I also love Polish version it's really beautiful

  • what website was itt?

  • This voice is too old for Pocahontas, she was very young.

  • @krotkofalowek then Hear the Dutch version, Pia Douwes dubbed it and she sounds kinda like this as well.. though she stays my dutch Idol ^^ beautyfull voice

  • @beforeTHEmomentGIRL look at Polish version :) Dutch is also very good :)

  • Really good, but I yet prefer Latinoamerican's version ^^

  • Nice, but the Italian version is the best of all!!!

  • not a very strong song in this version, better in russian

  • 0:32 to skip

  • do not pick up a bear cub. EVER

  • @sessymanga Only if you have a death wish :P

  • Japanese version is beautiful!

  • I think that the most like the version they grew up whit best, i grew up in Sweden and i like the Swedish one best because i remember stuff then. I also like this version, and every other version off this song, its so beautiful

  • i can't help myself but i think czech version is the best she has more feminine voice in it watch it to be sure if you want :D

  • i liked the japanese version

  • I think Pocahontas and Mulan have the best voices in Japanese.

  • Disney is partially to blame for kids wanting to pick up a wild animal and cuddle it. They DO know that by leaving their scent on the animal, it's probably doomed, right?

  • @bsus1412 at least Disney teaches kids to love nature, sort of. at least this movie does, can't say the same for all of them

  • translation-Pocahontas to John Smith: John-sama this rifle sucks you Americans just can't make them right that's why you failed in Vietnam AK47 owned you, you just have to improve the cooling system...

  • wow that was really good

  • Little weird - I think that Polish version is the best, sorry. But Japanese and English are very good, too.

  • @AnnieSky to chyba jasne ; )

  • @MissBeepage1

W ogóle jeśli chodzi o polskie piosenki z bajek, to są świetnie wykonane ;)

  • Does anybody know the name of the singer?

  • "Everything has a spirit, a life, and a name", huh? That works pretty well with Shintoism, doesn't it? lol!

  • @ravenshirin I think maybe the Native Americans may have come from Asia over 10,000 years ago. Asians and Native Americans look very similar and seem to share a lot of the same beliefs.

  • I always the music sounded very Japanese instead of Western. Perhaps its the Native American thing? So this fits well.

  • The video is great & not sloppy at all. Thanks for making it :)

  • Hmm, as a Japanese, I will admit that although this version is pretty, the translation doesn't hold as much power as the original. The theme is still the same, but they obviously had to change/tweak around quite a few of the verses to fit the melody. I suppose there's nothing we can do about it though, since elements of the original are always lost in translation.

  • @PrinceofCats999 I disagree. The lyrics are nearly entirely the same, and sound perfectly natural.

  • @CyborgNinja7

And I respect your opinion. However, the lyrics are in fact slightly different.

  • japanese? dud....

  • yay I could understand some words 8D

like kokoro, namai and wakaru deshou

  • the song sound very good in Japanese.Better than most Disney translations.

  • "命は関わりをもつ 丸くて 永遠のもの" is my favourite part:)

i grew up with disney classics. and pocahontas's always been my favourite &always will be. i was reeeeally disappointed when i watched pocahontas2 that was just terrible.......

and this song, always reminds me of how beautiful our nature and life is no matter where you are or where you come from. absolutely love this song.

  • @blythepeco i agree and they were not even produced that many years apart.

  • @blythepeco Agreeed...x

  • @blythepeco

Yes. I agree. Pocahontas 2 was awful. Even though, in reality, she DID marry same kind of english guy. It didn't seem right. Sequels to Disney movies have never been good.

  • @Bigkitty76 wrong, "bambi 2" was epic! ^_~

  • @eruhgon

Hmm... I don't remember watching that one. I've always thought Aladdin was the only one that had good sequels. I might look at it.

  • oh so schön x,,)

  • just love japanese<3

  • All the classic DIsney movies makes me cry.

Nostalgia. I miss the old times. <3

  • WOW America was so beautiful...This land has been raped severely

  • @0414aries awesome way to put it, eh? lol

  • @0414aries that made me lol

  • @0414aries This movie dramatizes the landscape of Virginia to a ridiculous degree. That area was pretty flat in 1607, still is today.

  • @0414aries because this cartoon is an accurate depiction of what america looked like 300+ years ago.

  • @0414aries damn euros had to come here and take it away from the indians

  • @HOLYSH1TMOTHERFUCKER Native Americans.

    Sorry I am Native American and I'm friends with alot of Native Americans and Indians, it's just a proper term. ;-;

  • @rockettotheskies oopsy sorry..i knew i should've used that term

  • @HOLYSH1TMOTHERFUCKER It's all good. Alot of people forget. (:

  • @0414aries Agreed. It happens everywhere though- it just seems more prominent in the Americas because they remained untouched for far longer than another areas of the world, and because the original people were far more respectful to the land than the settlers. The Native Americans really got the short end of the stick in history, unfortunately.

  • @LavenderLiar rival indigenous people were not so nice or respectful to each other, however. in the pacific islands, life was a battle against rivals for land, food, and women. fact.
