  • Mother of God! Look at all those Decepticons trailing Megatron!

  • 2:00 - Holy shit, there's Snarl!

  • I like Ultra Magnus in his Diaclone colors - lots of cool clips that were deleted - did anyone else notice that the music playing when Unicron was transforming was from Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn?

  • Very interesting...I bet there are tons of treats like this in the archives, unseen footage and so on. I'd love to see the rumoured 'ultraviolent deaths' and whether any of that storyboarded material ever got animated.

    Great stuff!

  • ok its the year 2010 and nothing happened D:

  • during the autobot city/metroplex bit ya can hear some Iron Maiden hehe, Big Orra if i'm not mistaken lol

  • @Jago666

You're right, it is Big 'Orra lol

  • So...much...unused...footage

  • haha "the mysterious planet threatens to devour the galaxy" and as he says that unicron passes between to planets at least 1000 times his size hahahah

  • I think he passed by two sun's....which would be way larger than plancets

  • UNBELIEVABLE. I didn't even know this footage existed, where in the world didya get it??!!

Was this fr the JPN Laserdisc version maybe? As an extra if not as an uncut version?? I doubt it but I STILL can't get over the Diaclone Magnus or stomping Kup...

  • Yeah, they made so many changes to the movie after his trailer was made:

Deleted footage, the design of the Autobot shuttles, the crew of the shuttle (Arcee, Daniel, and Snarl are on board), Ultra Magnus in his Diaclone colors, Hot rod in the city before it transforms, Megatron gets to the city after it has transformed, and a prototype version of what would later be Metroplex (2:51).

  • Amazing footage, just about all deleted scenes. Notice how different it is without Vince DiCola's music, not as exciting.

  • I would whole-heartedly disagree. Although Vince DiCola did a great job with the soundtrack, this more-orchestrated trailer soundtrack sounds more epic.

  • this orchestra is too generic, so i whole-heartedly think the same.

  • wow, movie trailers were long back then. Nowadays its just who's in it, what half the story is, coming to a theater near you

  • sorry i ment early tests

  • this has earl test footage in it no joke

  • Why was there music from Star Trek 3 in this?

  • Gotta love how Victor Caroli does those voice overs.

  • When he says it will have auidiences coming back and back i don't think that was really true: according to wikipedia the film was a "critical and commercial failure"

  • That may be true, but it is still my favorite movie after 21 years, and I've all but worn out my 16-year-old VHS copy.

  • yes it is a good film

  • I have got & still watch my video I got for Christmas 1986 21 years ago

  • The movie is good however I can understand what wikipedia means. In any series that has an established set of characters (both heroes & villians) with the audience thru two seasons then suddenly most of main characters are either wiped out or are never heard from again and replaced with new (and in this case dull) ones out of nowhere... that ill advised formula ultimately sealed the fate of the G1 Transformers as a popular series.

  • series 3 was good in my opinion

  • IMO it was cool but its the overall public perception that matters. The fact that the producers were FORCED to bring Optimus Prime back towrds the end of the series let's you know what kinda shape the show was in and how desperate the producers were to keep sinking ratings above water

  • I saw it 16 times at the theater.

  • man, what an awesome clip. too bad they didnt put it in the dvd. like the way the narrator speack in the trailor. check my vid for my transformers the movie parody. please comment and rate.

  • Out of all the theatrical trailers I've seen for this movie, this one is the darkest of them all. Its ashame the 20th aniversary DVD edition didn't have this.

  • It DOES have it. It just doesn't have the audio (most likely for copyright reasons; the music for the last minute or so happens to come from Star Trek III).

  • i always wondered what happened to the ship after the deceps bailed, thanx. i would like to know why that scene and the one with prime smashing dirge or thrust into a thousand pieces arent on my dvd and where i could get them, if anyone can help me.

message to guy who posted african voodoo message-group up you douchebag!

  • Why doesn't the DVD have this stuff on there???

  • I saw this on opening day and I was 11 years old, my mom trying not to laugh when Prime dies and Spike saying "AH SHIT", she almost took me out of the theater! Glad that didn't happen.

  • I don't recall him saying that in the film.

  • You might have an edited version, Young one...

  • Saying what?

  • you lie, i read this and didn't do what you said. and guess what happed, nothing that's what. your nothing but a con artist P.S. Sorry for any bad spelling

  • Damn this is chopped but rather cool score..

  • did he say 2005 in there too?

  • the story takes place in 05, nub :P

  • nice clip i like

  • where can we watch this version? The extra scenes are great!

  • Summer of 1986! Godamnnit! im too late!

  • 2:37 listen carefully this.

Plays Iron Maiden's Losfer Words (Big 'Orra) song

  • how OLD IS THIS?!?! i'm gonna assume there wuz an old transformers movie. I never liked the show, but the new one coming out looks pretty good, and ya know it has to be cuz it's directed by Steven Spieldburg

  • Wow... you don't know anything. It's sad...

  • sorry, I have a life, so I don't spend every second obsessing about transformers. The movie looks interesting, but that's all I really care about. ok, asswipe?

  • 1) it's 10 years old

    2) the new ain't directed by Spielberg it's directed by Michael Bay

    3) go watch Transformers the Movie now as it's the best way to see them!

  • Hey Math-o, that would be "20" years old.

  • NOW, now there's no need for hostility, this is just as much a cult classic like many others out there?

  • got problems, huh? I'm sure you're the apex of what a person should strive to be.

  • Why u read this see and view movie when u no likey likey? Bellshine!

  • and you fucking streetpunk blasfemich bitch :p.

GREAT clips, thanks for uploading :D

  • fuck you dude.if you dont like it,dont watch it.

  • says the man who has a video of the warthog rolling around, u sir, r the nerd

  • Great film, and what a soundtrack. Youve got the touch when Prime kicks Megatrons ass. Classic. Goose Pimples Big time.

  • This is one of the GREATEST animation of all time. They should consider doing it over in CG. I'm 31 one now and I'm still captivated by this great movie. Transformers forever!!!

  • Great movie, and I was glad I found this in a video rental store. I heard it didn't do too well in the box office, but that's the public's loss. Although i do agree that killing off Prime and maybe Starscream along w.other Autobots may have been a real turn off.

  • great film.. have it on my psp.. i rememebr going to see that in the cinema just before my 7th birthday.. cried my eyes out when prime dies :(

  • Orson Welles?!! Poor guy. He couldn't cut a break until the end.

  • There's loads of cool animation in there that should've been used. The background music is quite spectacular.

  • Bitchin trailer!

  • I've always heard people tell of scenes they only saw when TF the Movie was in theaters like the ship Ironhide and crew were in crashing in the side of a mountain.

  • Yeah he and the other 3: Brawn, Prowl, and Ratchet all were killed by Megatron b4 the Decepticons hijacked the ship. Hot Rod spotted the Deceps and shot at the ship. Then the Deceps abandoned the ship = crashing it into the mountain.

    Hope that clears things up.

  • kup also looks like a prototype.look at the matrix around galvatrons neck when unicron is transforming.they should have used the scene where autobot city is firing on the 'cons because i never understood why they transformed the city with all tose big guns and never got to seem them utilized.

  • great film, i was born the year this came out, but i started watching it when i received it for my birthday in 1990, its still on my list of "fucking excellent movies ever"

  • to bad there isn´t any sound

  • This is a rare clip. First look at the Color of Ultra Magnus. Then most of the scenes in the middle are not drawn like that in the movie. Finally did anyone notice the Star Trek Music playing during the trailer.

  • now i remember this one!!!

  • For a family flick - I've always thought Transformers: The Movie was intense.

    Optimus Prime's death was harrowing(when you're 7), and Starscream's death is hilarious(when you're 25).

  • This Movie was one of my favorite movies ever! The expression on Galvatron's face when Unicron transforms is priceless!

  • Transformers 4 ever!

  • There are bits and pieces of footage from all different parts of the movie, and most of the footage that doesn't involve Unicron isn't in the movie at all, even parts of his footage are cut, like chunks of him eating Lithon and during his transformation sequence when a compartment caves in and Galvatron falls in it. This is on the Transformers Reconstructed DVD as well as a bonus.

  • I have seen this movie many times (I was a fan of the movie when I was young) and

A: all of this is at the VERY beginning of the movie, that is not a trailer, that is not the end of the movie, it is the prologue right b4 the movie starts.

B: Those are not the autobots, they are just random robots on a random planet (the planet has a name, but it slips my mind)

  • HOLY CRAP, I am such a noob, sorry guys, I only saw the beginning and immediatly thought it to be the scene at the beginning of the movie. I would like to retract my last statement

  • Wreck Gar from the Planet of Junk?

  • I remember watching this in the theaters. I was around 8. Everyone little kid cried when Optimus died. That would be like Sponge Bob getting killed today.

I like how the movie says "It is the year 2005..."

  • ...and at the movie's end hear Darth Vader tell Luke that he's his father...

...and at the movie's end see Frodo destroy the ring...

...and at the movie's end see that Bruce Willis is really dead...

...and at the movie's end she's really a dude...

    ...and at the movie's end...

  • We all know for a fact that Arcee isn't a male TF.

  • I was refering to The Crying Game...

  • Wow wouldnt that be cool???

  • Fascinating video, however what is the music for Star Trek III doing here?Sounds totally out of place....

  • I agree.... at one point you wai tto see the Enterprise come out and fight along side the autobots

  • Probably since Leonard Nimoy [aka Spock] did the voice of Galvatron - so a subtle reference in a way made it appropriate.

  • this brings back a lot of memories haha

  • Eric Idle from Monty Python was also in this movie.. Interesting.

  • Way to give away the ending in the trailer! God, I hate it when they do that.

  • maybe that's why audiences didn't see it "again and again" ?

i dunno, i only saw it on vhs after it flopped in theatres...many many many times. i was lucky enough to not see this trailer beforehand.

  • This isn't a trailer. It's a marketing reel & would have been sent to theater operators to entice them to play the movie in their theaters. It was never intended to be seen by the public.

  • And Japanese theater operators at that. I'm shocked no one has mentioned all the Japanese kanji being shown.

  • i heard that Orson Wells hated this movie.

  • yup he said he played a horrible toy doing horrible things to other toys!

  • how was Unicron made, who or what made him ?

  • He's the transformers equivalent of Galactus. Similar storyline and all that.

  • Primaracron a small scientist like robot. Introduced in season 3 I think. That's all I know

  • watch season 3 call of the primatives

  • @kukstaur well. If i remmber right from the old Tf comics back in the 80's. Unicron and Primus were godlike transformers. Devil and God sorta religious deal. They had a last final battle, and it left them both severly weakened, so Primus stored his consciousness inside the Natrix of leadership, and transfromed himself into Cybertron, where he proceeded to populate himself with transformers to guard and repair him while he lay dormant against the day unicron returned.

  • has a lot of rare unused footage, looks like ultra magnus isn't himself either with the crazy colors. This must have been a promotional thing early in the project, when the makers of the film sent out test footage to cause fan-frenzy.

  • Awesome Dude....

  • Awesome awesome awesome awesome awesome awesome.

  • Transformers the movie is nearly 20 years old and still beats alot of animation we got today. I mean the animation quality very very top notch for its time even today. This is by far one of my fav animes of all time hands down. Instant classic.

  • Whats even more impressive is that there was no computer animation. Which makes that megatron becomming galvatron scene even more stunning.

  • Totally. And this movie came out well b4 I watched the show in the 90s and always wondered why Megatron was replaced by Galvatron. That scene was amazing.

  • DUDE!! THIS ROCKED!!! I have never seen this before. Is this in a Special Edition DVD of Transformers the Movie?
