That first cutscene actually has an extra part in Silver's story if I'm not mistaken (Never played the game but I watched all the cutscenes once, when I was really bored). The extra part basically explains why Elise remembers Silver in the beginning cutscene, and how she got the blue chaos emerald.
A Final Fantasy XII character. I've never even played any of the Final Fantasy games besides III (or VI, if you dislike Square's inconsistent localization), but I know how to use Google. You should try it sometime.
