  • It's very different from the other versions I've heard, but I must say, yours is very fresh and I do enjoy it a lot. You add a certain twist that is very appealing.

    Well done!

  • wow! amazing singing and playing!

Thank you so much for uploading this video for us.

  • That is a very happy sound. And your singing made it even better. Loved it.

  • I like it... I like it.

  • Is that a walnut or rosewood Mid-Mo? Very nice sir.

  • thank you. it's an M-4 mid-misouri - "Solid Pau Ferro rosewood back and sides. Solid Sitka spruce top. Ebony fretboard and bridge."

  • actually the texts of Carmina Burana are not written by Carl Orff. He did an amazing job on composing new melodys for them. The texts were written in medieval times by corrupted monks. I enjoyed this very much! ^^ only downside was the pronounciation. I hate it when people sing(or speak) latin with a wery poor pronounciation. Amazing voice and playing thou!

  • thank you - to counter your criticisms (in the gentlest possible way) may i suggest that the monks were not so much "corrupted" as they were longing for salvation but - like st. augustine - not quite yet. i would guess that latin in 13th c. europe would have suffered from a long list of regional and colloquial pronunciations. (granted, an ex-pat new yorker would not be amongst them.) thank you again.

  • This is also very nice, but it makes me very sad to see that fantastic video of this played on the oud gone. To be honest I have a hard time seeing Schott having any rights to a song from the mid 1200's.

It would be a different thing if you were playing Orff's horrible and pompous version, which you clearly weren't.

  • thank you jjaxly - seems to be a case of "ours not to reason why ..."

  • Very sad.

Well, as mando4me2 said, you have more wonderful videos, it's pure pleasure to listen to them.

  • @billkilpatrick is that why the oud version was gone? I was looking for that, but fortunately found this back.

  • Nice. I love your videos. The music is always good. Keep them comimg!

  • thanks lew ... thanks "mom" - i recorded a version of this about a year ago but was told it infringed the copyright of Schott Music GmbH & Co. - carl orff's publisher. more than anything else, i think it's sad and spiteful that Schott Music is thumping amateurs on youtube for big league copyright infringements.

anyway ... the solution was - and is! - make your own music!

  • Great picking... great vocal.
