  • Wow, she did an AMAZING job! What I like the most is that she took her time. Your hair looks great!

  • amazing curl pattern

  • I LOVE it!

  • @Sankofalocs Thank you! :D

  • @berneasebrown Hey, sis! Thank you! Now you know I wasn't going to go too short. :)

  • i was looking at a few of your older videos and it looks like she cut quite a bit (although i love your hair cut, sooo cute). was that by choice or a part of the technique? one more thing, how often are trims/cuts recommended?

  • @Titus2Chic Most of the time I wear, twist-outs and that stretches my hair out a lot. But after my hair has been freshly washed it has major shrinkage. She didn't cut that much off, it was no more than an 1/2 -1 inch...where my hair was rough to the touch. The ends were not rough to the touch all over, just in some spots. She recommended every 12 weeks, but she also said to let your hair lead you. By that she meant...when the ends don't feel so good. So I'll be trimming 3 months if needed.

  • Looks beautiful Evelyn!! Your hair always does:0).

  • @ChinaDoll762 Thank you so much! :)

  • That is a wonderful method... it really compliments your curl pattern. Your curls are sooo cute! I love how gentle she was with your hair :)

  • @qochemist Yes, I like this method! Thank you so very much. Yeah, some people handle natural hair rough, but she was very gentle.

  • @EvelynPrather - I can tell... I have a friend with the very same texture and curl pattern as your hair... She may already know about the Deva cut method but I will be sure to mention it to her just in case :)

  • @LovesIngredients Yeah, me too! The mini consultation we had, showed me that shorter wouldn't look right at all. I didn't want it too short anyway. Thank you so much, Ms. Lady!

  • Very nice! You have very pretty curls.

  • @Alisha10000000 Thanks a lot! :)

  • OMG, evelyn you live here? didn't know that. i thought you lived in TN. i work in fayetteville some days so i can easily head over to salon 54 for a cut. how much are the fees? also, i'm not sure that i know what the deva method is, what is it?

  • @Titus2Chic Yes! I am originally from TN, but live in GA. Wow, small world. You may want to check online to see if there are other salons in your area that can do the cut (Urban Bella). I'm not discouraging you at all, because I had a great experience. If you decide to go to Salon 54, you have to make an appointment way in advance. Ms. Carol stays booked. The Deva Cut is $45, which is not bad compared to others.

  • @Titus2Chic It is a method where each individual curl is cut. Focusing on cutting where they fall. The hair is cut dry so the cutter can see how your hair naturally falls and they go from there. There is no straightening of the hair for this cut. It actually best not to straighten curly hair to cut it. It actually comes out better this way. There are some great videos on YouTube about the method. Lorraine Massey is the one who developed the technique..author of The Curly Girl Method.

  • What is the deva technique?

  • @denelleyparker It is a cutting technique where each individual curl is cut vs. the usual cutting technique (straight across, without the actual curl in mind. It is a way of cutting curly hair in the shape in which the curls naturally fall. Lorraine Massey, has a book out called the Curly Girl Method and she is the one who coined this technique. There are some videos on YT about it. I love this cutting technique for curly hair.

  • Your hair is beautiful!

  • @azureblu1 Thank you! :D

  • I think I'm going to try her when I go back to GA I like how she talked to u the whole time and was so warm.

  • @lasoreal Cool! Yes, she was a very warm person. I felt very comfortable during everything.
