2 seems a bit young to be barrel racing... even if your horse is physically and emotionally mature enough to be broken at 2 you might want to take the first year off for just basic riding skills and trail riding. Plus, starting them this young may cause not only physical problems (arthritis etc.) but emotional (gate issues, hating barrels, etc.) as they get older from having been doing it so long. Pretty horses though!
on the first person who ran - use both hands to guide you horse and be sure she is bending properly and set up.
if u need to hold on to the horn go slower. it looked like the second person who ran was on the wrong lead at one point. slow it down and if you cross the rein again the horses neck it will encourage them to pick of their feet correctly.
