With the recent event in Norway, it is difficult to imagine what it looked like the massacre and how to kill a lot of people especially children, because there is no footage which clearly shows. And this mission is a bit helps to imagine this, and I can say that it is heartbreaking.

I see this level as a test of the player's humanity more than anything else, and also to give players an idea of just how horrific terrorist activities can be.

If you felt any sense of revolt and absolute horror from seeing those innocent people being gunned down while they screamed and crawled away dying, congratulations, you're not a psychopath and you have a healthy sense of compassion and empathy. Bonus points for you if you didn't fire a round.

@wiishadow4 It was because Makarov had the intention to pin the attack on the americans so that ultranationalist russians could wage war against USA. (That's why he says at the beginning not to speak russian.) Allen was there to gather intel to prove it was Makarov who led the attack. When he got killed russian authorities found him, and since he was actually american, it helped Makarov to reach his purpose. I hope it helps.
