Great to see Stuart enjoying himself so much, plus a rare smile from Mark. The best band of the 80's & 90's by far. Better song writers & musicians than Ueffin2 in any era.
I first saw Big Country supporting The Jam in '82 and I've been in love with them ever since. This track is awesome!! Sad to see the fuckwit nationalistic comments, they do no justice to Stuart's memory. A great man, songwriter, guitarist and poet. A big HUHCHAH! to the sky.
Big Country, does anyone care about ratings of bands, Just enjoy, WE know they are Brill, im in WONDERLAND listening to this, I hope everyone is, best band ive ever seen, they sound better live than on a record / cd for younger peeps, gawd bless ya Stuart, Mike Peters ty bud keeping them alive
I have the 12" vinyl extended version of Wonderland and I will never part from it. It has Giant on the other side. Can you imagine! This is music for the soul.
@loveultravoxforever i had the good fortune to see the skids too !! though im showing my age, i also saw ultravox before midge joined !!!!!! though not many songs jiggle my bones like this one : )
off to see BC in Gasgow tonight...the auld heart will flutter 2night of past gigs...i remember getting completey lifted of my feet at the barras during the Greatest hits tour...also putting argyle street in chaos playing out Tower records windows...starting up with restless native,s made the hair on ny neck stand up...4.12 secs...put that in yer fuse box Edge...May the road rise up to meet yous in 2011...cheers skapaul
Live - in the rain - throwing it down - AWESOME. Great song, greater band! Loved 'em in college and still love his voice and that bagpipe-sounding guitar. Rock in peace Stuart!
I'M ENGLISH AND USED TO LIVE IN DUNFERMLINE WHEN I WAS 10 I'M 34 NOW BUT BIG COUNTRY, STUART ADAMSON AND SCOTLAND WILL ALWAYS BE IN MY HEART FOREVER.... RIP STUART AND MARK, GOD BLESS
Although it can never be the same without Stuart, his music deserves to be heard live as it was supposed to. The forthcoming tour (2010) with Mike Peters and Bruce’s son, Jamie will be a chance to hear the next best thing! Can’t wait!
Stuart looks so happy, what happened??? I miss you so Stuart Adamson, R.I.P. Talent truly wasted!!! Big Country now although fantastaic, can never be the same xx
Do you remember 1985? I do. Times were sour. The cold war was real. Wonderland was a ray of hope...
best live groups? sure.
I think the missing Stuart after 8 years is most real. I cry. A magic time? No. A space that might never be filled again or recreated, but it fills a void still. Pass it on.
seen these boys 12 times at different times of their lifetime and was always blown away by them....truely awesome and very very very underated..RIP stu
I was too young to see BC in their heyday--but I was listening at that time, and I had pretty much all their output from the 1980s. They were darn special on record, but the live stuff was the cat's meow.
Eight years on, and I still miss Stuart. Still hard to believe he's gone. He--they--were amazing. A magic time that really is over in rock music. RIP, Scotland's finest.
i've been on youtube quite a while but these vids of BC by skapaul are truly impressive...just luv them...for the life of me never knew why BC didn't achieve the true fame that their greatness deserved...
@dannydangerousmullan Neither of those bands are English either. I admit though, I don't know how these are not more popular than U2 and that pompous twat Bono. Fuckin' disgrace.
@dannydangerousmullan Dude im a Spanish Yorkshireman and this band was way and above my favourite back then some of there songs were just perfect maybe it's the Gaelic in me?? i I dont Know
Its not really club music though more for winding the car window down and cruising in the mountains then it's perfect :-)
@dannydangerousmullan both bands you mention are NOT English!! And not all English people hate Scottish Bands. I think These (Big Country) are amazing as well as Simple Minds, Eurythmics, The Proclaimers and your "not so famous for being Scottish"..............Mark Knopfler, yep!! He was born in Glasgow!! So we are not all RACIST unlike you!
@SpartanPict Why? I wasn't being racist at all. If you read my post correctly the guy I was replying to was being racist buy saying that if Big Country were English, then they would have been bigger than they were because they were Scottish
