  • New to my vocabulary, this Chicago Style, but is does explain all the extra changes I hear. Also the chromatic changes are neat -- no 19th century harmonic analysis necessary--just fill in the notes between.  Love it!

  • Our piano is an 1898 German 6ft. Bechstein- often referred to as the "German Steinway". It is one of the last of the breed: 85 notes, the highest being A in the treble. This piano was brought to the U.S. when new and sat in an estate in Miami for 75 years. It still has the original action and strings. Every Bechstein that I have played-old or new- has an extremely fast action, so watch out! it could run away from you!
