You can even see those tents that are for bodies and body pieces and stuff, Not really somthing i would like to see during the final moments of landing :P
The "who ever came up with the bright idea to build an airport ... should be shot" was none other than Sir Edmund Hillary. I hope no one wants to shoot him! There is virtually no flat ground in Nepal's mountainous regions. The runway was deliberately built on a 12 degree slope to help planes stop in time and to gain enough speed for takeoff.
@heliskier402 yes and also the runway was not flattened by any modern machines but by the local sherpa people by making them walk up and down at night whereas the local women would cut the bushes and clear off the grasses during day. so we sud show how gratefulness and b thankful to them.
I am afraid to say this but the pilot's that fly these flights, may not be as technically skilled as 747 pilots, but by god they have better stick and rudder skills. But in all honesty, who ever came up with the bright idea to build an airport on the side of a mountain looking straight at it should be shot.

... and Ladies and Gentlemen if you'd please look out to the right side of the airplane... you wont see how seriously dangerous this airport is..... we'll be landing VERY shortly.... thank you.
I have the Lukla add-on scenery for FSX, and its a pretty interesting landing. I have tried several aircraft, and Twin Otter is definitely the way to go.
Yes, we went to Everest Base Camp and also climbed Island Peak. It was a fantastic trip! Perhaps the most impressive thing was the strength and character of the Nepali people.
You know what people do after landing? they clap :D
