I love this video and the idea behind it but I stand on my beliefs: as a white person, I don't use this word in order to show respect to the black community. If they want to use it, it's their choice. That word is not mine, it's theirs.

@INCC74656I I think that, because of the subject matter, and the obvious tension that exists because of it. Her comedic approach to discussing the word 'nigger', helped to break that tension. If that front row is any indication as to the population of the room, half the room is white. And if I were white. In a class talking bout "niggers'. I'd feel pretty awkward as well. TBH tho. I didn't find it that funny either.

Black people do not use the word with cruel intentions. In most cases, White people do. Also you need to remember the historical connotations with that word.
