I'm a amateur boxer, yes I would fight them. I spar in a ring that same size and manage to use my footspeed good. I would move a little, stick my jab and dig that body with left or right hooks when I see them coming in sloppy at my head and then bring my punches up. Holding when I need to and pick them apart using jab and legs
@marabdl, I'm sure you're a good boxer, you probably spar with 15OZ gloves with head gear, amateur box with 10OZ gloves... these guys can take constant bare knuckles to the face, you'd most likely crumble from one of level's right hooks. Fighting's mostly about how much you can take, not what you can dish out.
It's easy to talk shit on the net when you know you'll never have to be in this kind of situation.

Most of these guys lack superior techniques seen by pro athletes, but i doubt you'd see mayweather try something like this even once.

That's exactly what I realized...they're not trained fighters, they just "throw hands". Which is how I feel about MMA. It seems as if MMA fighters mix many martial arts, but they've mastered none of them.

In boxing you only need to master one element, that's why boxers appear more crisp in the boxing area than mma fighters. But when you see mma fighters like bj penn or anderson silva both who've mastered all aspects of mma, it almost seems like you're watching an action movie, because the techniques are so flawless.
@adangme your wrong. in mma, the masters come to prove themselves. you have got former world champion kickboxers, world champion jiu-jitsu grapplers, olympic wrestlers, golden glove boxers, world muay thai champions. even karate masters. the test for these masters comes when they step into the cage and ring and encounter another master and fighter of a completely different style and discipline. can i use my muay thai to stop this grappler, can i use my karate to stop this boxer etc etc.

I'm a amateur boxer, yes I would fight them. I spar in a ring that same size and manage to use my footspeed good. I would move a little, stick my jab and dig that body with left or right hooks when I see them coming in sloppy at my head and then bring my punches up. Holding when I need to and pick them apart using jab and legs

@marabdl, I'm sure you're a good boxer, you probably spar with 15OZ gloves with head gear, amateur box with 10OZ gloves... these guys can take constant bare knuckles to the face, you'd most likely crumble from one of level's right hooks. Fighting's mostly about how much you can take, not what you can dish out.
It's easy to talk shit on the net when you know you'll never have to be in this kind of situation.

Can't hurt what you can't catch brotha. Footspeed is everything along with superior conditioning. I spar with no headgear because I'm looking to turn pro and want to get use to it. You are right these guys are tough and have a lot of heart

@marabdl, you're right, footspeed and superior conditioning is everything, but when you're in a 12x12 ring with no room to move around and fighting bareknuckle, the only thing you got is heart... and a really tough face. lol
Most of these guys lack superior techniques seen by pro athletes, but i doubt you'd see mayweather try something like this even once.
I consider these guys backyard athletes.

@marabdl if you are what you say are, im confident you could hold your own but you also have to realize that this setting is not as restricted as boxing match, you would have to watch out for things like knees, elbows and ground fighting

That's exactly what I realized...they're not trained fighters, they just "throw hands". Which is how I feel about MMA. It seems as if MMA fighters mix many martial arts, but they've mastered none of them.

@adangme, you're getting it all wrong about mma, the difficulty in mastering mma is what makes the sport so dynamic and exciting to watch.
In boxing you only need to master one element, that's why boxers appear more crisp in the boxing area than mma fighters. But when you see mma fighters like bj penn or anderson silva both who've mastered all aspects of mma, it almost seems like you're watching an action movie, because the techniques are so flawless.

@adangme your wrong. in mma, the masters come to prove themselves. you have got former world champion kickboxers, world champion jiu-jitsu grapplers, olympic wrestlers, golden glove boxers, world muay thai champions. even karate masters. the test for these masters comes when they step into the cage and ring and encounter another master and fighter of a completely different style and discipline. can i use my muay thai to stop this grappler, can i use my karate to stop this boxer etc etc.

even a professional fighter wouldn't fight the same in the ring as he would fight in the streets he would probably be a street fighter and brawl it. street fights are fast. so please with all this true martial artist yes a pro fighter would kick destroy a jo smo because he a excellent athlete. but you never know. pro fighter run in to the run into the right kid young tuff mother. im not talking about somebody beating a mayweather or brock lesnar highly unlikely. the avg pro it could happen

definitely i agree.. but a fighter knew how to throw punches and recieve hits before they even knew anything. unless they started martial arts as a beggining. but i am sure all mma fighters had streetfight in them as kids growing up. maybe what led them to mma... but to all types of fighters being street, boxers, martial artist. all have my respect.. its the HEART they have

yes miggy i give it to you all the fighters that started this a year and a half ago.didnt train. just off the streets BECAUSE THEY LOVE FIGHTING. a couple of them got outlets to train they have been seen. it takes heart to get in there and fight then shake hands with the nigga u beat or beat u . mike aka known as dragonhulk. keep doibng u. now these fighters know that mma is right around the corner so yes alot are training.

But once they've done martial arts and has finally found out what it's capable of...then they realize that they're streetfighting didn't compare to actualy martial arts, that's all im saying.
