I read somewhere how to always win at this game, since the rating isn't a score. "If the rating is not a score, then who cares how high it is?" So I tested it out and lost a bunch of games by leaving as soon as they started and took my rating really low that way. Sure enough, I started winning every single game and having a blast again. Technically, the lower your rating, the easier your human opponents will be! So there you have it, just do that and you'll rarely lose again!

I don't think L4D needs mic chat as much as you think.

L4D is filled with sound cues- characters voice whatever items they see, and the special infected have unique sounds and music cues, such as Tanks breathing heavily, Hunters growling and Witches sobbing. Characters will always point out when you have special infected nearby.

I can see how in Vs. mode it is more useful, but the relevant sound cues are still there. Not saying it's BS, but I don't think mic use is that necessary in L4D/2

i find it difficult to play L4D with an external voip, because there isn't an icon other the player talking. i usually play with groups i join friend with, and maybe im just not used to understand their voices yet and keeping track of what character they chose. but still, you need to know their location.

TB please check out Natural selection 2. An online fps with commander play set in a sci-fi mercs vs alien world. Made by an indie studio but is currently in closed beta that you can purchase the game early to opt in to and will be on steam when it is finally released. The reason I mention this game is that it requires a great deal of skill to play first person (with avp2 like speeds and weaponry) and has many 'builds' that the commander can go, akin to sc2. Please check out the game.

SWAT 4 comes to mind as a brilliant shooter that forced teamwork and cooperation between players. Playing the campaign in co-op and VIP mode online were both just fantastic experience.

I miss that game, there really needs to be a SWAT 5 someday.

Commanding in BF2 did not exclude capturing, shooting and playing with your "men". If you could not do that and command you were doing it wrong. I remeber how sick the points got for being medic commander.

Flash will not be officialy supported by Adobe in the mobile browsers, but the reason why is that people use apps on phones for interactive content. Adobe AIR will still be supported on phones and AIR is Flash but instead the game or application will be installed like a program on the device. Don't separate these two TB, as AIR is some extra fuel for the flashplayer. Stealth bastard is more then possible

Continued: The Steam achievements don't work for a lot of people, like all mac users. Steam overlay doesn't work, fullscreen doesn't work properly, very low amount of settings, no rebinding keys or native gamepad support. The list goes on.

Of course it matters that The Binding of Isaac is a flash game, though honestly a lot of the issues could probably be solved by a better programmer. The thing is, most people working in flash to release big games are not very good programmers. It has huge slowdown on fast machines due to badly optimized code, flash is insanely resource heavy to begin with so that's no good.

So very disappointed to hear TB echo the same b.s. about commanders in BF2/2142 that DICE gave as their reason for removing them. Being a commander doesn't remove you from the game at all. If anything you should be more active than people that aren't commanding. I'm speaking as someone with 200+ hours commanding that played competitively for a short while in 2142. Commanders were the lynchpin that brought everything together in previous BF games. No squad VOIP doesn't help either.

Come to think of it the hardcore sim racing games like IRacing have interaction down to a tee. Nobody wants to crash, (FYI, you have a safety rating that must be high to allow access to new content) Obviously you can't type while driving and not have a massive shunt so VIOP is a must have. I don't know weather its just the sim racing community or the fact that everybody else in that grid is in their 40s/30s but generally sessions are very sociable places. Friendlier than the forums certainly.

I find it surprising that he bearely said anything about D3, also I'm hesitant to tell my opinion regarding GW2 considering it isn't out yet but the trailer doesn't even have 1 mil views compared to SWTOR which has over 7 mil. Realy wandering how the game will turn out this year and imo the most important thing about GW2 is how it will be recieved by people, if people who buy it don't feel comfortable with the next generation MMO, we might find an end to the next generation MMOS before starting.

TB, a mod for Red Orchrestra: Ostfront called Darkest Hour seems to actually REQUIRE teamplay in order to actually get anywhere in the match. Lack of overhead displays and larger non-linear maps coupled with halftracks, tanks, and 64+ matches makes it stupid to go off alone in anycase as you'll often find hordes of enemies that can take you out in one shot. The classes are also very useful, you can't dominate anything with just a rifle, you need MGs to supress and Rockets to take out amor try it

Flash on its way out? Are you basing this purely on the fact that the iPad did not support it? Currently, the steam Software Survey still shows 96.79% of the people who allowed to scan their computer, had flash player installed.
