@orgasmdonorgg i believe it was over used, but lately no one used it. and how did it ruin hip-hop, hip-hop is a different genre than rap, theres still going to be atmospher, brother ali, binary star, tonedeff, and good artists when auto-tune is around. i think its just an effect like reverb or reversing, or other effects to make the song sound better to the originator. but i agree, for a long time it was abused
