Oh can I relate! I've bought shitty clothes for my stepmom, my mom, and two girlfriends (but nothing as bad as that green jacket!) I got it right once with an Irish white wool sweater which was one size too small and we couldn't take back because I lost the receipt. The same goes with jewelry. Clueless guy here...

This movie is great on so many levels. Not only is it a bit sad, but amongst the tradgedy it has some humorous parts sprinkled here and there. Part of it's appeal was the comraderie between fellow wrestler's and the gentlemanly respect they show towards each other. All in all I think the glue that holds it all together were the interpersonal relationships that you knew were not meant to be. It makes you really feel for the characters.

I didnt think that this film was something special... Too many things added to too short movie. The daughter father theme could have been left out easily... And this wrestling thing is surely something only patriotic Americans understand and be passionate about it. It was hard for me to relate to any of the characters. For a foreigner, it's a lousy movie.
