The problem is, he says "I would have never voted for that bailout". It's easy to say. McCain and Obama had NO CHOICE but to vote for it, or their campaign would have gotten torn to shreds.
I can see where Obama is coming from because his vote is somewhat consistent with his belief that in some cases, Government has to step in. No, not that whole socialism line again please.
McCain however has sold his soul with the bailout bill. He was against helping homeowners before he voted for this.
Finally, a real debate. I'm looking forward to the two of them discussing the UN, the FED (and it's sibling the IRS), HOW to bring down the NWO and much much much more.
I hope many people see this debate unfortunately the McBama voter's cognitive dissonance, willful ignorance and extreme denial will keep them from even viewing a brief glimpse of this debate.
To paraphrase something Matt Gonzalez asked:
What's it gonna take for you NOT to vote for Obama or McCain?
This (s)election is pure bullshit. Most of the general public (lemmings) think that voting for g.i. joe/malibu barbie or obiden will get us out of this black hole. Not even close. More war, more black-ops, more c.o.g. tactics, more brainwashing, and more false flag terror. The left-right hoax is still working on most sheep....i mean people. No Ron Paul, no vote.
True, but the problem is none of them will get into the presidential office because the average person is too stupid to see throught the bias media coverage to make their own opinion.
You're right, he isn't that bad; I exaggerated a lot out of personal offense (his polices could possibly lead to the repealing of affirmative action). He does share many views with McCain though, so I see him as McCain without the shame and corruptness, but a bit more extreme.
McCain is a neo-con with a very liberal record. McCain is a warmonger and a cunning politician who is advised by foreign lobbyists and the Military industrial Complex.
Well, to start, he proposed the H.R. 7955, which eliminates the dept. of education. He also proposed the H.R. 4653 which eliminates federal education assistance in states that require private schools to have certification. Privatizing education would be terrible. H.R. 7955 also "Prohibits the expenditure of Federal funds to any organization which presents male or female homosexuality as an acceptable alternative life style or which suggest that it can be an acceptable life style."
"A bill to provide that the Internal Revenue Service may not implement certain proposed rules relating to the determination of whether private schools have discriminatory policies."
This means that private schools who may use race as a factor in determining admission cannot be investigated.
H.J.RES.42 also denies citizenship to people born to non-citizen parents. This one personally seems odd because my older brother became a citizen this way.
There are some more, but his basic stance is a hands-off approach to leading combined with his relatively conservative viewpoints sort of like laissez-faire with his imposed beliefs, which many are religious.
I still don't understand this. In '04 I voted for Kerry even though I would have rather had Nader. This election, I have already voted for Obama. If Hillary would have won the democratic nomination, I guess I would have voted for Nader. When you vote for Nader I guess you are saying there is no difference between the Rep and Dem choices. I think there is a difference in Obama and McCain, and it would be much worse to have McCain than Obama. That's why I think it's a mistake to vote Nader.
taking your constitutional rights away with the patriot act
bailouts with our money, when we are not asking to do that, and a less than 1% sales tax on all wall street transactions can easily pay for their own bailout.
MCCAIN AND OBAMA ARE THE SAME- the mistake is to NOT vote Nader.
Nader is still running as a Democrat, so the electoral college has to either vote Democrat or Republican. Those delegates are not committed to their party nominees for ALL votes, but I will tell you, it would take a miracle.

then obama shouldnt have spoken to AIPAC, endorsed Israel, voted for FISA, voted for the Bailout, voted for the Patriot Act, said he was going to keep a nuclear first strike on Iran on the table, and he should have said that all corporate and US military forces will leave Iraq in six months.
But since he didnt say that, and because he did all those other things-he doesnt get my vote. Too bad Obama, you stand for policies that are anathema to me.
Don't you think I know about the Patriot Act? There are issues here more vital than that. It is Sarah Palin. The Patriot Act is the greatest FALSE FLAG that this country has ever faced. But if Palin becomes President, there will be MORE Patriot Acts.
No, there should be NO patriot acts and there should not be any others in the future. We have Congress. And they can still not bring bills to a vote, they can still filibuster, they can still override a presidents veto, they can still choose to not confirm appointments, they can still choose to hold hearings, and they can still amend such vile acts. And there is impeachment (though it shall never be used again...)
Think of the checks on the executive from the Congress.
Obama must be the choice. Voting for Nader in 2000 was the best choice available. This time is serious. Much, much, more.
This is about pure intelligence. A man whom graduated fifth in his class at Anapolis, or had been a Harvard Laureate with a Jurist Degree and also a professor. Obama or bust.
Y'know back in the the 1800s that was called elitism if you had that kind of record and were considered disconnected with the common people. They instead voted for people who couldn't even spell like Andrew Jackson and ironicly enough this country was in its best state during those presidencies. Those presidents actually kept us out of debt. The world isn't in books and documents. It's not about being the most intelligent. It's about wisdom and common sense.
Say I ask an intelligent person if a red house is made out of red bricks and a blue house is made out of blue bricks what's a greenhouse made out of? If they aren't wise odds are they'd say green bricks instead of glass because they only see data and interpret it as such. Somebody who is wise and has common sense would say glass because they can tell that you're trying to trick them with the different colors of the other two houses.
Somebody who is wise and has common sense would say glass because they can tell that you're trying to trick them with the different colors of the other two houses.
I think Barack Obama is wise to that. Very wise. The singular reason why Obama has not attacked McCain is simple. The attacks are baseless and are imploding his campaign. The people are seeing this, and are not ignoring it. Obama is wise.
I agree intelligence is very important. but it just depends what you want the president to do.
If you want him to control everything, then maybe you want an intelligent president. If you want a president who will stand by Constitutional principles, he may not need to be intelligent at all.
If he has the right values then he can be just as good. Hopefully with more intelligence we hope those values will come, but we cannot be sure.
I agree intelligence is very important. but it just depends what you want the president to do.
The only action that the President must do to reclaim the Presidency for the people is to obey the law. PRESERVE, PROTECT, AND DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Thats all that needs be done.
Obama will do this. We all RESPECT Mr. Nader. But the current urgency is for Obama to win.
ah but why did obama vote for the patriot act? Why did he vote for the FISA bill this summer? Why does he want to expand faith based initiatives?
These are not constitutional pieces of legislation. They undermine liberty and our constitutional rights.
Nader is right on these issues, and sadly Obama is wrong. He taught constitutional law, but it seems he wanted to ignore that when those bills came up, and when he talked about faith based initiatives.
it all depends on whether you want to vote for a "winner" or if you want to vote for specific policies.
If you want to vote for policies, you may like all of barack's policies, even with his inconsistencies (as I see it), however, chances are the third parties reflect more of your values (since they dont have to pander to a big tent or "independents" who arent in their party, or corporate or lobbying interests).
I am all for 3rd parties. Voted for Nader in 2000. But I keep hearing the argument that unless you want McCain in office you have to vote Obama. It seems that even progressive types I know who have always voted third parties are going to Obama since this is such an 'important election'.
There must be another way to promote alternative parties beyond a vote that many would consider a waste of a vote. I know that lies in voting third parties in local elections but there are none where I live.
I know where you're coming from. It's completely understandable. But I have high hopes for Obama. With popular pressure coming from all of us, unilaterally, we might see the end of the "unPatriot Act(s)"
What isn't Nader right on? The man took on GENERAL MOTORS and won! Preston Tucker couldn't do that! And he was a genious!
hopes are as far as I get for Obama. His record and his campaign have disappointed me.
I am unsure on Nader's economic policies. I need to study more economics and determine for myself how much regulation should be involved by the government and whether or not such regulation is good.
Im a fan of Ron Paul, and I think his policies have a better argument behind them.
I was voting Ron Paul and contemplating donating to the cause. But the moment, the shear instance, that SARAH PALIN reared her NEOPHYTIC, NEOCON face, it was Obama or bust.
This woman is one 72 YEAR OLD HEART ATTACK away from the Presidency! I quote Matt Damon, "I need to know if Sarah Palin believes that the world was created 6000 years ago."
This is a woman, whom believes in the END OF DAYS and if McCain dies, SHE WILL HAVE THE NUCLEAR CODES! The economy ain't my concern.
Ah yes, the Lesser of Two Evils argument. Obama is not the lesser, he is the better.
I voted my conscience in 2000 and 2004. Nader was out of intelligence, Kerry out of necessity, NOW it is truely time for a change. Nader can not offer anything. HE IS WISE. No doubt. But when I hear that there are REPUBLICAN men and women openly endorsing Obama, its a lock. Obama or bust.
so if republicans like obama so much (the same people who made such bad decisions, who have led us to record deficits, and have been WRONG about every major policy decision of the past eight years), tell me why is it that endorsements to Obama by these people is a good thing?
I guess though, it depends on the principles of the republicans who endorse Obama. Bipartisanship is a thing to be feared now.
it means both parties agree on taking away ourliberties and expanding the empire.
There is no real (2) Party system. All receive the same PAC money from the same capitalism. No Doubt. It's all a single party.
I can trust Obama. Or, at least I think I can. But as for the gutless and cowardly Democrats, never. Or the power hungry and treasonous Republicans, hell no.
Voting for either is voting for socialist plan A or socialist plan B. Both are big government. Both are corporate pundits. Both are CFR. Both are party puppets. The administration is still the same controlling these two people. either or is status quo.
About 50 years ago Americans were warned about a possible infiltration from immigrants. Who were those immigrants? Jews. Jews took over America and they control the goverment system and the American Congress. I can't remember the last time a true American was president. Say no to Israel.
Neither one of these men will win as they have not been given AIPAC's nod and the central bankers own us. Paulson knows that you're going to support him on more bailouts just as you did his company Goldman Sachs. You have NO CHOICE but to do so. They are in charge.
I have told people that this day was coming, but when I told them they typically replied, "but the Jews are God's favorite people, didn't you know?" They are in charge. Only when we crack the whip can the wheels of justice turn.
You won't find a socially responsible, educated and progressive voter that doesn't at the very least respect what Nader is saying.
That said, we ALL know he's not gonna win. Even if he were invited to the real debates. Furthermore, if he causes yet another republican win because of his "crusade" to the white house then he screws us all.
I understand, vote what you believe. But that isn't a viable option people. He could do more good from outside the game, instead of spoiling it.
McKinney says she didn't want to, she claims the reason is that the Nader camp set up the thing and dictated the terms (this is what she says and why se won't do it)
AS to why she won't do it? I don't know but I don't think it is a good reason. Even if Nader invited the others after setting it it, it still is a good idea for the candidates to participate, I think it shows again that she has a chip on her shoulder. Another indication of a problem. I think she is unreasonable. I don't want someone who physically assaults a Capital Hill police officer to be President.
No, I was asking if there was any truth to the claim Nader was pulling a CPD on this debate, which would be very ironic. I don't really believe that, since this debate was created without the inclusion of Nader I believe.
Are you sure the police officer didn't have it coming? ;).
HAHA, "...but I never would have approved this notorious bailout..." hilarious

Wisdom and common sense IS intelligence.
katey1dog 3 years ago
No it's not. Let me give you anexample.

I think Barack Obama is wise to that. Very wise. The singular reason why Obama has not attacked McCain is simple. The attacks are baseless and are imploding his campaign. The people are seeing this, and are not ignoring it. Obama is wise.
katey1dog 3 years ago
Okay so now you do understand the difference between wisdom and intelligence. That's good.

I agree intelligence is very important. but it just depends what you want the president to do.
If you want him to control everything, then maybe you want an intelligent president. If you want a president who will stand by Constitutional principles, he may not need to be intelligent at all.
If he has the right values then he can be just as good. Hopefully with more intelligence we hope those values will come, but we cannot be sure.
im seriously considering nader because of this.

Nader. But the current urgency is for Obama to win.
katey1dog 3 years ago
ah but why did obama vote for the patriot act? Why did he vote for the FISA bill this summer? Why does he want to expand faith based initiatives?
These are not constitutional pieces of legislation. They undermine liberty and our constitutional rights.
Nader is right on these issues, and sadly Obama is wrong. He taught constitutional law, but it seems he wanted to ignore that when those bills came up, and when he talked about faith based initiatives.
RationalLiberty 3 years ago
But is it better to vote Obama the lesser of two evils or vote Nader who we know will lose?
skipperiffic 3 years ago
skipperiffic,
it all depends on whether you want to vote for a "winner" or if you want to vote for specific policies.
If you want to vote for policies, you may like all of barack's policies, even with his inconsistencies (as I see it), however, chances are the third parties reflect more of your values (since they dont have to pander to a big tent or "independents" who arent in their party, or corporate or lobbying interests).
I dont think about whos likely to win or lose
...
RationalLiberty 3 years ago
...
After all, wouldnt that destroy the purpose of voting, if you were going to vote for someone who didnt reflect your interests entirely?
RationalLiberty 3 years ago
I am all for 3rd parties. Voted for Nader in 2000. But I keep hearing the argument that unless you want McCain in office you have to vote Obama. It seems that even progressive types I know who have always voted third parties are going to Obama since this is such an 'important election'.
There must be another way to promote alternative parties beyond a vote that many would consider a waste of a vote. I know that lies in voting third parties in local elections but there are none where I live.
skipperiffic 3 years ago
I know where you're coming from. It's completely understandable. But I have high hopes for Obama. With popular pressure coming from all of us, unilaterally, we might see the end of the "unPatriot Act(s)"
What isn't Nader right on? The man took on GENERAL MOTORS and won! Preston Tucker couldn't do that! And he was a genious!
katey1dog 3 years ago
hopes are as far as I get for Obama. His record and his campaign have disappointed me.
I am unsure on Nader's economic policies. I need to study more economics and determine for myself how much regulation should be involved by the government and whether or not such regulation is good.
Im a fan of Ron Paul, and I think his policies have a better argument behind them.
RationalLiberty 3 years ago
I was voting Ron Paul and contemplating donating to the cause. But the moment, the shear instance, that SARAH PALIN reared her NEOPHYTIC, NEOCON face, it was Obama or bust.
This woman is one 72 YEAR OLD HEART ATTACK away from the Presidency! I quote Matt Damon, "I need to know if Sarah Palin believes that the world was created 6000 years ago."
This is a woman, whom believes in the END OF DAYS and if McCain dies, SHE WILL HAVE THE NUCLEAR CODES! The economy ain't my concern.
katey1dog 3 years ago
and such will the cycle of "the lesser of two evils continue"
The race to the bottom of candidates and VP picks will always assure two party dominance i am sad to say.
If we dont vote our conscience we will never have a "good" country, always a "less evil" country.
So it is as I see it.
RationalLiberty 3 years ago
Ah yes, the Lesser of Two Evils argument. Obama is not the lesser, he is the better.
I voted my conscience in 2000 and 2004. Nader was out of intelligence, Kerry out of necessity, NOW it is truely time for a change. Nader can not offer anything. HE IS WISE. No doubt. But when I hear that there are REPUBLICAN men and women openly endorsing Obama, its a lock. Obama or bust.
katey1dog 3 years ago
so if republicans like obama so much (the same people who made such bad decisions, who have led us to record deficits, and have been WRONG about every major policy decision of the past eight years), tell me why is it that endorsements to Obama by these people is a good thing?
I guess though, it depends on the principles of the republicans who endorse Obama. Bipartisanship is a thing to be feared now.
it means both parties agree on taking away ourliberties and expanding the empire.
RationalLiberty 3 years ago
There is no real (2) Party system. All receive the same PAC money from the same capitalism. No Doubt. It's all a single party.
I can trust Obama. Or, at least I think I can. But as for the gutless and cowardly Democrats, never. Or the power hungry and treasonous Republicans, hell no.
katey1dog 3 years ago
Voting for either is voting for socialist plan A or socialist plan B. Both are big government. Both are corporate pundits. Both are CFR. Both are party puppets. The administration is still the same controlling these two people. either or is status quo.

Nothing particularly wrong with Socialism. After all, I like to see the firemen, police, SEC, HTA, and the FDIC.

A vote for any of these people in this election, for me, would be difficult. Obama looks good for the country right now and McCain must lose.
Landrew120880 3 years ago
You won't find a socially responsible, educated and progressive voter that doesn't at the very least respect what Nader is saying.
That said, we ALL know he's not gonna win. Even if he were invited to the real debates. Furthermore, if he causes yet another republican win because of his "crusade" to the white house then he screws us all.
I understand, vote what you believe. But that isn't a viable option people. He could do more good from outside the game, instead of spoiling it.

Where is Mckinnie, and Barr?
Lungyao1 3 years ago
Barr's refused to attend (typical) and I'm not sure about McKinney, I'd like her to attend honestly, but we'll see.
TiradeFaction 3 years ago
McKinney says she didn't want to, she claims the reason is that the Nader camp set up the thing and dictated the terms (this is what she says and why se won't do it)
representativepress 3 years ago
Do you think there's any truth to her claim?
TiradeFaction 3 years ago
AS to why she won't do it? I don't know but I don't think it is a good reason. Even if Nader invited the others after setting it it, it still is a good idea for the candidates to participate, I think it shows again that she has a chip on her shoulder. Another indication of a problem. I think she is unreasonable. I don't want someone who physically assaults a Capital Hill police officer to be President.
representativepress 3 years ago
No, I was asking if there was any truth to the claim Nader was pulling a CPD on this debate, which would be very ironic. I don't really believe that, since this debate was created without the inclusion of Nader I believe.
Are you sure the police officer didn't have it coming? ;).
